  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the factors affecting smoking behavior in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: The participants were 130 pulmonary tuberculosis patients at a national tuberculosis hospital. Using a descriptive survey design, data were collected from January to March in 2016 and were analyzed using binominal logistic regression. Results: As a result of a correlation analysis of the data, depression had a significant positive correlation with smoking (r=.19, p=.030), stress (r=.54, p<.001), respectively. And depression had a significant negative correlation with smoking-related self-efficacy (r=-.20, p=.023). Smoking-related self-efficacy, smoking (r=-.79, p<.001), and stress (r=-.23, p=.008) had a significant negative correlation with each other, respectively. The factors affecting the smoking behavior were smoking-related self-efficacy (OR=1.46, p<.001), sex (OR=67.36, p=.001), occupation (OR=17.51, p=.014), and depression (OR=1.16, p=.024). Those factors explained 84.7% (Negelkerke's $R^2=.847$) of pulmonary tuberculosis patients' smoking behavior. Conclusion: Developing and applying a prevention eduction for reducing depression and enhancing smoking-related self-efficacy may become a venue toward good prognosis of the patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.

  • While previous studies on service failures mainly focused on general services, this study examines the effects of failed financial services on the psychological process and behavioral responses of consumers. The important factors of financial service (relational benefits, convenience, branch satisfaction, product diversity, company stability, and product profitability) are regarded as antecedents in our model. We study how each factor of failed financial service affects the negative emotions of consumers through the attribution process and how these arising emotions influence their behavioral responses. Through path analysis, this study shows that failure of service factors of relational benefits, branch satisfaction, and convenience induces disappointment, with the mediation effect of external attribution. Meanwhile, failure of service factors of product diversity and product profitability induces regret, with the mediation effect of internal attribution. Disappointment leads to complaint behavior, and regret leads to switching behavior. Unlike previous studies, the present one considers the important factors of financial service and their effects on the affective and behavioral responses of consumers.

  • The effects of job stress factors on psychological job stress and job satisfaction levels of school dietitians were evaluated. Questionnaires were distributed to 163 elementary school foodservice dietitians in the Seoul and Incheon area. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS program. The highest stress factor was the importance of the job followed by role ambiguity, autonomy and identity, communication and participation. When dealing with job stress, the subjects showed improved and positive behaviors when communicating and participating with each other. The analysis of the relationships between job stress factors and job satisfaction revealed that the importance of the job had a negative effect on jog satisfaction. while role conflict and overload, personal relationships, and experience accumulation had positive effects. Ample occupational experience and background had highly positive effects on school dietitians' job satisfaction level whereas negative results were shown concerning circulated appointments(p<0.01). Based on these results, we suggest that role conflict and overload should be reduced in order to lower job stress levels and enhance job satisfaction levels.

Method: Data were obtained through questionnaires from 240 ICU nurses working in hospitals of 500 beds or more in two cities in South Korea. Data analysis was done with t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple stepwise regression with SPSS WIN 14.0. Result: Work stress was positively correlated with level of professional burnout and there was a negative correlation between hardiness and professional burnout. Social support was negatively correlated with level of professional burnout. Hardiness had a positive correlation with social support and a negative correlation with work stress. The explained variances for burnout was 44.7% and factors affecting professional burnout in the ICU nurses' were work satisfaction, work stress, social support, and hardiness. Conclusion: The findings indicate that high levels of stress coupled with low levels of hardiness and social support in ICU nurses result in high levels of professional burnout.
