  • The special interest should be paid to the analysis of the influences of positive emotions in terms of their possible effects on the dyanmics of autonomic. recovery after the negative affective stimualtion. Taking into account emotion-specific autonomic response patterning and dissociation of parameters of autonomic arousal during experience of both positive and negative emotional states, this problem seems a challenging one. In present study several autonomic parameters were analyzed altogether, namely inedices of electrodermal activity, heart rate and respitation rate during consecutive combination or both IAPS-based visual affective and auditory stimulation. The aim of the study was analysis of patterns of electrodermal and cardiorespiratory responses during emotional states evoked by negative affective visual stimulation followed by positive or neutral auditory one with intention to identify if the latter is able to facilitate post-stress recovery and enhance restoration of pre-arousal levels. The main orientation was dirdcted towards the further application of experimentally induced comfort emotions for dampening the negative consequences of exposure to stressful stimuli.

남녀 대학생의 보상소비성향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Compensatory Consumption of Male and Female College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate compensatory consumption propensity by male and female college students. The subjects of the study were 483 college students in Seoul, and SPSS 12.0 was used for statistical analysis. Two different types of compensatory consumption were considered separately positive compensatory consumption and negative compensatory consumption. The major findings were as follows. First, for male college students, drinking was the most preferable means of compensatory consumption to compensate for both negative and positive emotions. For female college students, their consumption patterns tended to include clothing purchase and eating-out for positive emotions and eating-out, reading and drinking for compensating negative emotions. Second, for both male and female students, the consumption propensity for compensating positive emotion was found to be higher than that for compensating negative emotion. And the consumption propensities for compensating positive and negative emotions were higher for female students when compared to those of male students. According to the results of regression analysis showing the relative effect of each variable to compensatory consumption, sex and consumption tendency were found to be relative variables on both positive and negative compensatory consumptions. Female students were found to be more likely to consume for compensating emotion than male students after other variables were controlled. For positive compensatory consumption, consumption propensity and materialism were found to be the most effective variables, and for negative compensatory consumption, materialism was the most effective variable.

어머니의 상위정서와 정서사회화가 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Maternal Meta-Emotion and Emotion Socialization on Preschoolers' Emotional Intelligence)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the direct and indirect effects of maternal meta-emotion on preschoolers' emotional intelligence through mothers' emotion socialization. A total of 252 preschool-aged children and their mothers residing in the Seoul Metropolitan and Gyeonggi-do areas participated in this study. The mothers completed questionnaires regarding their meta-emotion, emotion socialization and preschoolers' emotional intelligence. The results of the study indicated that maternal meta-emotion did not have a direct effect on preschoolers' emotional intelligence. However, maternal meta-emotion did indeed have an indirect effect on preschoolers' emotional intelligence through emotion socialization styles. That is, mothers who had desirable beliefs about emotions provided supportive reactions to children's negative emotion expression and showed positive emotions more frequently in the family. In addition, the preschoolers of mothers who showed positive emotion socialization styles were reported to be more emotionally intelligent. The findings of this study suggest that maternal meta-emotion and emotion socialization are important in predicting preschoolers' emotional intelligence.

콜센터 근로자의 직무 스트레스 수준에 따른 인지적 대처전략 (A Study on the Cognitive Coping Strategies by Job Stress Level of Call Center Workers)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the job stress level of call center workers and figure out its relation with cognitive emotion regulation strategies as a cognitive coping strategy. Methods: Data collection was conducted on 985 call center workers, working for K companies in Korea. ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe's test and multiple regression have been conducted for the data analysis using SAS 9.0 software. Results: The total job stress score of subjects ranges $Q_{25{\sim}49}$ (the lower 50%) whereas the score of job demand and job control ranges $Q_{50{\sim}74}$ (the upper 50%), and its sectional job stress level is high. Since job stress is the major factor affecting cognitive emotion regulation strategies, it is shown that when the job stress score gets higher, the score of positive cognitive emotion regulation strategies gets decreased but the score of negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies, increased. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop and apply an effective stress easing method for call center workers which reduces negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies and increases positive ones.

아동의 정서조절능력과 부모변인 및 또래에 의한 괴롭힘이 행동문제에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Emotion Regulation, Parent Related Variables and Victimization by Peer Harassment on Behavioral Problems among Children)

  • This study examined emotion regulation, parental support, supervision, psychological control and marital conflict and victimization by peer harassment that affect children’s behavioral problems. The sample consisted of 412 fifth and sixth grade children. Statistics and methods used for the data analysis were percentage, frequency, Cronbach’s alpha, Factor analysis, t-test, Pearson’s correlation, and multiple Regression. Several major results were found from the analysis. First, girls had more internalized behavioral problems than boys. No sex difference was found in externalized behavioral problems. Second, boys’ and girls’ internalized and externalized behavioral problems showed positive correlations with maladaptive emotion regulation and parental psychological control. Boys’ and girls’ internalized behavioral problems and girls’ externalized behavioral problems showed negative correlations with parental support, but positive correlations with parentral marital conflict and victimization by peer harassment. Girls’ internalized and externalized behavioral problems showed negative correlations with parental supervision. Third, maladaptive emotion regulation was the most important variable predicting boys’ and girls’ externalized behavioral problems and girls’ internalized behavioral problems. Victimization by peer harassment was the most important variable predicting boys’ internalized behavioral problems.

패션제품의 충동구매행동에 관한 구조방정식 모델분석 (Analysis of Structural Equation Model on Impulse Buying Behavior for Fashion Products)

  • Impulse buying has been considered a pervasive and distinctive phenomenon in the modern lifestyle and has been receiving increasing attention from consumer researchers and theorists. In the modern marketplace, spontaneous urges to buy and consume often compete with the practical necessity to delay the immediate gratification that purchasing provides. The purpose of this study is to conceptualize and test the framework of impulse buying behavior for fashion products using structural equation model. Data were obtained from 413 students attending universities during schedules classes in Busan. Analysis of the data, utilizing AMOS 4.1, supported most of the predictions. The results showed that situational variable(time available) and individual variable(fashion involvement) have direct effects on consumers' shopping emotions, including positive and negative emotion. Positive emotions had effects on all types of impulse buying(planned impulse buying, reminded impulse buying, and fashion-oriented impulse buying), while negative emotion affected two types of impulse buying(reminded impulse buying and fashion-oriented impulse buying). These emotional experiences influence impulse buying behaviors for fashion products serving as critical mediators. The findings suggest that time available and fashion involvement are good predictors mediated by shopping emotion to impulse buying behavior for fashion products. The implications of this research for future work on the shopping emotion and impulse buying behavior are discussed.

딥러닝 기반의 다범주 감성분석 모델 개발 (Development of Deep Learning Models for Multi-class Sentiment Analysis)

  • Sentiment analysis is the process of determining whether a piece of document, text or conversation is positive, negative, neural or other emotion. Sentiment analysis has been applied for several real-world applications, such as chatbot. In the last five years, the practical use of the chatbot has been prevailing in many field of industry. In the chatbot applications, to recognize the user emotion, sentiment analysis must be performed in advance in order to understand the intent of speakers. The specific emotion is more than describing positive or negative sentences. In light of this context, we propose deep learning models for conducting multi-class sentiment analysis for identifying speaker's emotion which is categorized to be joy, fear, guilt, sad, shame, disgust, and anger. Thus, we develop convolutional neural network (CNN), long short term memory (LSTM), and multi-layer neural network models, as deep neural networks models, for detecting emotion in a sentence. In addition, word embedding process was also applied in our research. In our experiments, we have found that long short term memory (LSTM) model performs best compared to convolutional neural networks and multi-layer neural networks. Moreover, we also show the practical applicability of the deep learning models to the sentiment analysis for chatbot.

노년기 정서 경험의 변화와 주관적 안녕감: 종단 연구 분석 (The Changes of Emotion Experiences and Subjective Well-being in Old Age: An Analysis of Longitudinal Study)

  • 본 연구는 2003년부터 2년마다 실시되고 있는 종단연구 자료를 바탕으로 노년기의 정서 경험의 변화 특성을 확인하고 이러한 특성이 주관적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 2003년 기준으로 65세 이상인 노인 중 1차(2003년), 2차(2005년), 3차(2007년) 연구에 모두 참여한 노인 참가자 844명(남성 340명, 여성 504명, 평균 연령 71.59세)을 대상으로 연령 증가에 따른 정적 정서 경험과 부적 정서 경험의 변화를 확인하였다. 혼합설계 분산분석(mixed ANOVA)을 통해 분석한 결과, 연구 참여 노인들은 부적 정서보다 정적 정서를 더 많이 경험하는 정서최적화 특성을 나타냈다. 노년기에 부적 정서가 급격하게 증가하고 정적 정서가 급격하게 감소할 것이라는 일반적인 믿음과 달리, 점진적인 정적 정서와 부적 정서의 감소가 나타났다. 노년기 주관적 안녕감에 정서 경험이 미치는 영향을 확인한 결과, 학력이나 경제수준과 같은 인구통계학적 특성에 비해 정서 경험이 미치는 영향이 더 컸다. 그리고, 정적 정서를 더 많이 경험하고 부적 정서를 덜 경험하는 것이 주관적 안녕감 유지에 효과적이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 노년기 삶에 있어서 정서적 삶의 중요성과 노년연구에서의 종단 연구의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다.

사상체질별 긍정적, 부정적 성격특성과 삶의 질의 연관성 연구 (Correlation between Positive·Negative Affect and Quality of Life in different Sasang Constitutions)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of positive and negative emotion on the quality of life(QoL) in each Sasang contitution, using Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule(PANAS) and Short Form-12 Health Survey Questionnaire(SF-12) questionnaire. Methods A total of 1,123 participants completed the Korean version of the PANAS and SF-12 questionnaire. The participants were classified into one Sasang constitution by QSCC II. The effects of emotion on the QoL were compared between the each Sasang contitution using analysis of variance(ANOVA). Results We found significant differences between constitutions in Positive Affect(PA), PA-Joy, PA-Interest and PA-Activation of PANAS. And we found significant differences between constitutions in Mental Component Summary(MCS) of SF-12. Negative correlation of less -0.4 was shown in Negative Affect(NA), NA-Afraid, NA-Upset of PANAS and MCS of SF-12. Conclusions The Soyangin has significantly higher score than Soeumin in PA, PA-Joy, PA-Interest and PA-Activation of PANAS as previous studies. This study also shows the correlation between negative emotion and decline in the quality of mental status.

소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)사용의 부정적 감정과 사용중단의도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Negative Emotion of Using Social Networking Services and Its Discontinuance Intention)

  • As an empirical study on the psychological side effects of using Social Networking Services (SNS), this study aims to identify the reality of negative emotion of using SNS and to predict its consequences. To this end, a measurement tool was developed through literature review, in-depth interview with users and expert review to induce negative emotional factors that can arise while using SNS. An exploratory factor analysis was performed for a total of 24 measurement items, which then were divided into the following 6 factors: 'concern over privacy,' 'burden from undesired connection,' 'relative deprivation,' 'a sense of alienation,' 'concern over reputation' and 'negative feeling about simple relationship.' Also, the relationship between the 6 negative emotional factors and psychological dissonance was analyzed. The results indicate that all the factors, except relative deprivation and a sense of alienation, affect psychological dissonance. It was also found that psychological dissonance, which implies a conflicting condition from using SNS, significantly affects the behavior that possibly reduces and limits the use of SNS. In other words, the users who have experienced psychological dissonance respond passively by avoiding the use of SNS to resolve the dissonance. The results of this study provide the base for explaining the psychological side effects of using SNS, which have been understood at a phenomenal level, such as 'Facebook depression' or 'SNS stress.' In addition, this study is of significance as it helps understand the psychological mechanism by identifying the relationship between negative emotion and use behavior with the theory of cognitive dissonance.
