A Study on the Needs of Tea-Culture Education of Middle-aged Women (중년기 여성의 차문화 교육요구도 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs and demands of middle-aged women concerning the educational contents of tea-culture, the managing methods of educational programs, and a plan to invigorate tea culture education as a whole. Here is the summary of the main results. 1) The need for tea-culture education scored an average of 4.14 / 5(maximum score). The actual needs for tea-culture education had varied according to the women's place of living, educational motives, and the desire to become lecturers in the future. That is, the actual needs for tea-culture education scored high among the groups who displayed strong personal motives to cultivate their inner minds and learn tea-culture seriously, groups who lived in Seoul${\cdot}$Taegu${\cdot}$Cheonju, and groups who wanted to become future lecturers. 2) The need for a systematic management of tea-culture educational programs scored an average of 4.10 / 5(maximum score). The need for a management of tea-culture educational programs varied according to the women's educational level and their desire to become future lecturers. That is, the need for a systematic management of tea-culture educational programs scored high among groups whose educational level was high, and groups who wanted to become future lecturers. 3) The need for a plan to invigorate tea-culture education scored an average of 4.05 / 5(maximum score). The need for a plan to invigorate tea-culture education varied according to the women's place of living, educational level, the managing subject of educational organizations, the desire to become future lecturers. That is, the need for a plan to invigorate tea-culture education scored high among the groups who lived in Seoul${\cdot}$Taegu${\cdot}$Cheonju, groups whose educational level was high, groups who were members of life-long educational facilities within universities, and groups who desired to become future lecturers.

Intermittent Heating and Cooling Load Calculation Method -Comparing with ISO 13790

  • College of Architecture, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, US Abstract The intermittent heating and cooling energy need calculation of the ISO 13790 monthly method was examined. The current ISO 13790 method applies a reduction factor to the continuous heating and cooling need calculation result to derive the intermittent heating and cooling for each month. This paper proposes a method for the intermittent energy need calculation based on the internal mean temperature calculation. The internal temperature calculation procedure was introduced considering the heat-balance taking into account of heat gain, heat loss, and thermal inertia for reduced heating and cooling period. Then, the calculated internal mean temperature was used for the intermittent heating and cooling energy need calculation. The calculation results from the proposed method were compared to the current ISO 13790 method and validated with a dynamic simulation using EnergyPlus. The study indicates that the intermittent heating and cooling energy need calculation method using the proposed model improves transparency of the current ISO 13790 method and draws more rational outcomes in the monthly heating and cooling energy need calculation.

Effect of Antenatal Education on Pregnant Women (임부들을 대상으로 한 산전교육의 효과)

  • This study was conducted to assess the knowledge and educational need of pregnant women relating to antepartum, delivery, puerperium period and to identify the variables which influenced their knowledge and educational need. The study subjects were 77 antepartum women who had antenatal educations and 106 antepartum women who did not have antenatal education. Number of total antepartum women were 183. Data were collected from women who visited for antenatal care at general hospitals and public health centers in Pusan and Kyungnam area using qestionnaires from Feb. 1. 1998 to Apr. 20. 1998. SAS/PC program was used for data analysis. ; Chi-square test, t-test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, ANOVA(Duncan procedure) and MANOVA. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Relating to the antepartum period between two groups, the knowledge about the number of antenatal care was low, relating to labor the knowledge about the time fix the fetal position and relating to postpartum, the knowledge about the change of blood pressure and body temperature was low. 2. The comparision means of knowledge were adjusted by social demographic characteristics related to knowledge. There were statistically significant differences in total mean score of knowledge about pregnancy, delivery and postpartum between two groups. In full marks 19, the mean scores of the educational group and non-educational group were 13.08 and 11.74 respectively (P=.000). In resultly, there are statistically significant differences between two groups. The effectiveness of antenatal education group was very high and showed its importance. 3. The comparision means of educational need were adjusted by social demographic characteristics related to educational need. The mean scores of educational need were statistically significantly different in pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period. 4. There were positive correlations between the knowledge and educational level, duration of marriage and total numbers of pregnancy. There were negative correlation between the educational need and age, educational level, duration of marriage and total number of pregnancy. The above results showed the effects of antenatal education.

An Effect of the Group and Personal Factors on the Preference of the Conflict Handling Styles (집단적 요인과 개인적 요인이 갈등관리유형 선호에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to categorize five types of conflict handling styles that employees can take when conflict occurs. The five types are integrating, avoiding, dominating, obliging, and compromising. I found these factors that explain conflicts handling styles divided them into organizational structure, task group functioning and need styles and how certain factors explain different kinds of conflict handling styles without other factors. To measure conflict handling styles, this study used the scale of conflict style devised Rahim. Data were collected by the survey method from employees engaged in the service industry located Seoul, the Province of Gyeonggi, and the Province of Gangwon. In addition, in order to prove my hypothesis, I used hierarchical regression analysis method to find the pure explanation that each factors have without multicollinearity. According to the study's result, in a person's type of needs, if the need for achievement is high, they prefer integrating style. In contrast, if the need for achievement is low, they prefer avoiding style. Also, if the need for affiliation is high, the employees prefer compromising style. But if the need for affiliation is low and the need for dominance is high, the employees favor dominating style. However, in task group functioning, group homogeneity, group cohesiveness, and group goal clarity are high, or the confidence in peers and management is high, the employees prefer obliging style to other conflicts handling styles. As well as if group homogeneity, group cohesiveness, and group goal clarity are high, it was found that they prefer compromising style. Also, if the role conflict that is related to organizational structure is serious, employees prefer obliging style, but they have weakenss in explanation. To sum up these results, if the employees have obliging style that shows lack of concerns over themselves and at the same time, have high concerns to others, is affected by task group or organization. And we can infer that the other conflicts handling styles are effected by personal characteristic.

The Relationship of a Child's Need for Approval, Anxiety and Anger-in on a Child's Relational Aggression According to Gender (아동의 성별에 따른 인정욕구, 불안 및 분노억제와 관계적 공격성 간의 관련성)

  • The major purpose of this study was to explore the relation of a child's need for approval, anxiety and anger-in on a child's relational aggression according to gender. The study's participants included 464 boys and girls selected from fifth-and sixth-graders at an elementary school in Busan. A child's need for approval, anxiety, anger-in and relational aggression were assessed with their own self-reports. For data analysis, Cronbach ${\alpha}$, T-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Multiple Regression were used. The collected data was analyzed by the SPSSWIN 18.0 program. The major findings were as follows: First, child's anger-in demonstrated a significant difference among sexes. Girls indicated higher points than boys. Second, Boys' need for approval indirectly affected child's relational aggression through anger-in. Boys' anger-in was directly affected by relational aggression. Boys' anxiety was directly affected by anger-in. And boys' anxiety indirectly affected child's relational aggression through anger-in. Third, Girls' anxiety was directly affected by relational aggression. Need for approval and anxiety were directly affected by anger-in. The findings from this study indicates that child's need for approval, anxiety and anger-in are important elements in relational aggression are affected differently depending on the child's gender. Also, this study has meaning in that it can be used as fundamental data to develop a teaching plan and counseling program for children that can decrease relational aggression.

The Need of Health Education among Chinese Students in Korea (중국인 유학생의 보건교육 요구도)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to survey the needs of health education among Chinese students in Korea. Methods: The subjects of this study were 206 Chinese students in Korea who were attending one of three universities in Chungcheong-do and Seoul. Data were collected from April 1 to October 27, 2011. Results: The subjects' need of health education was 131.53 out of 176. By area, the score was highest in safety accident prevention and emergency care (3.25 out of 4), which was followed by personal hygiene and healthy habits (3.22), family health care management and medical examination (3.15), prevention and management of disease (2.94), environmental health (2.81), moderation in drinking and smoking cessation (2.81), psychiatric and mental health (2.79), and sexual education (2.68). When the need of health education was examined according to the subjects' characteristics, the need of health education was significantly higher in female students. Conclusion: Need of health education among Chinese students studying in Korea was high. To meet Chinese students' need of health education, it is necessary to provide an on-line health education program which is written in bilingual languages (Korean and Chinese) for effective learning.

Need for and Supply of Primary Care in Rural Areas (농촌지역의 의료요구와 의료공급에 관한 연구)

  • Health policy is directed to equity in the provision of primary care for rural people before the year of 2, 000. This study aimed to define and identify the need for physician's care by using empirical data, and suggested an alternative of the primary care delivery system in rural areas to the government. 1. Twenty percent of the study population wanted to obtain any form of medical care services. : 9.3 percent of the population was in need for physician's care; 15 percent of the need was met by physicians, while 85 percent remained unmet at the time of survey in 1979. 2. For meeting all the need for physician's primary care, 2.9 annual physician visits per capita are demanded. An alternative, which was devised in some favourable way at reasonable cost in rural settings, was suggested. It was to deploy the physician extender such as community health practitioner in the infrastructure of the health care delivery system, whose supervision is provided by physician, based on experience of the KHDI health demonstration project. 3. One physician, two community health practitioners and two community health aides should be assigned in distant locations for meeting all the estimated need for physician's primary care for 10, 000 rural underserved residents.

The Study of Mother역s Nursing Need and Perceived Her Role During Puerperium Period (산욕기 산모의 어머니 역할에 대한 인식과 간호요구에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was undertaken to determine the nursing need of mother herself and her baby in puerperium period at home alone with percevied her role. It was hoped that this nursing information would help nurses plan effective for their nursing care. This study involved 100 postpartum mothers and the period for data collection was from May to July, 1982. The results of study were as follows; 1. The mother's mean age of 27.45, more than half of mother's was high school graduate, most of the mother have their religion, 78.4% was housewives, and 21.6% have occupation, Their mean marriage period was 30.2 years, 61% was nuclear family with 4.2 family members and primipara was higher then multipara. 2. Most mothers showed that positive attitude for their delivery and perceived higher their mother's role. 3. Mother showed more nursing need about infant(for example, bathing, meaning of crying) than herself. 4. There was a positive correlation between mother's education, wether or not their occupation, marriage periode, parity and mother's role and their nursing need.

Unmet Need and Inappropriate Use in Emergency Ambulance Service (응급 환자 이송서비스의 적절성: 미충족 의료와 부적절한 이용)

  • Background: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of an emergency ambulance system and to investigate socio-economic and clinical characteristics associated with emergency ambulance service. Methods: Based on 2011 Korea health panel, unmet need and inappropriate use of emergency ambulance service were measured by Gibson in 1977. Furthermore, the factors associated with unmet need and inappropriate use of emergency ambulance service were identified by Fisher's exact tests and multiple logistic regression models. Results: Unmet need, defined as the proportion of emergency patients who clinically need ambulance transportation but do not receive it, was found to be 59.8%. Inappropriate use, defined as the proportion of emergency patient receiving ambulance care who did not clinically need it, was found to be 37.2%. There were statistically significant differences between appropriate and inappropriate groups in overall variables of socio-economic and clinical characteristics. Specifically, gender, age, relationship to household, and reasons of visiting emergency department (accident/disease) were statistically significant factors associated with appropriate use of emergency ambulance service. Conclusion: Unmet ambulance need is a useful measure for patients needs assessment, and inappropriate ambulance use is a valid criteria in judging the efficiency of emergency ambulance system. To improve and understand emergency ambulance system, unmet need and inappropriate use of emergency ambulance service should be more concerned.

Impacts of technology anxiety and perceived productivity on attitude toward self-service technology - The moderating role of need for interaction - (기술불안감과 지각된 생산성이 셀프서비스테크놀로지에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 - 상호작용욕구의 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore how consumer traits(technology anxiety and need for interaction) explain attitude toward self-service technologies in fashion retail stores. We examined if technology anxiety influences perceived productivity and attitude toward self-service technologies, and if so, how the need for interaction with employees moderates the impact of technology anxiety on perceived productivity and attitude. For the purpose of the study, a web-based survey with Korean consumers was conducted. The final sample size was 214. Structural Equation Modeling Analysis and PROCESS in SPSS were employed to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings indicated that technology anxiety negatively affected perceived productivity and attitude toward self-service technologies in which perceived productivity affected attitude positively. Need for interaction with employees was found to moderate the relationship between technology anxiety and perceived productivity. It also moderated the relationship between technology anxiety and attitude. This study contributes to the self-service technology literature by identifying two antecedents of consumer attitude toward self-service technologies: technology anxiety and the need for interaction. The findings further provide valuable insights to retailers and marketers as to how technology anxiety, perceived productivity, and the need for interaction work in enhancing consumer attitude toward self-service technologies in the context of fashion retail.
