  • In the course of feasibility study the necessity of implementing electrochemical methods as an inline metrology technique to characterize semiconductor nano structures for a Deep Trench Dynamic Random Access Memory (DT-DRAM) (e.g. ultra shallow junctions USJ) was discussed. Hereby, the state of the art semiconductor technology on the advantages and disadvantages of the most recently used analytical techniques for characterization of nano electronic devices are mentioned. Various electrochemical methods, their measure relationship and correlations to physical quantities are explained. The most important issue of this paper is to prove the novel usefulness of the electrochemical micro cell in the semiconductor industry.

  • The tactile sensor of the future robot is becoming a necessity as a sensory organ which can communicate with the person most directly. Recently, the Nature-inspired technology has provided a new direction for the development of these tactile sensors. Here, we review three different nature-inspired tactile sensory system; high sensitivity pressure sensor inspired by beetle wings, highly sensitive strain sensor inspired by the spider's sensory organs, Tactile sensor inspired by human fingertip. These nature-inspired tactile sensors are expected to provide a breakthrough that not only can sensitively measure the pressure, but also delicately recognize the softness and texture of the material just like human.

  • The necessity of Power Quality(PQ) Management grow bigger because the disturbance strength in power system is increasing, on the other hand, the tolerance of electrical components is reducing with widely use of the IT and digital equipments. The domestic management standards on power quality are enacted based on the IEC standards in recent. Since the IEC standards defines the measurement and evaluation point on PQ as PCC(Point of Common Coupling) which is normally the point of penetration between customer and power company, the PQ monitoring system(PQMS) should be made to measure and manage the PQ of custom effectively. In this paper, therefore, the economical construction plan on PQMS using the wireless communication channel in distribution automation system is suggested, and the usefulness of the PQMS are shown by analyzing the PQM data with IEC standards.

  • Recently, to the development of a highly information-oriented society to a large increase in dependence on power, Accordingly, it is need that active development and spread of preservation technology on accident prevention in operation electrical equipment. However, to lack of the use on maintenance technology of power equipment and to increase of power usage is growing deterioration of power equipment, this is a cause on casualties, property damage and the occurrence of disasters is a growing. GIS equipments which are operated from domestic except the equipment which manages from the big business are depend on a most visual inspection, and do inspection method or measuring instrument etc. a condition which is not supplied widely. Currently, many to measure instrument used in domestic is very expensive or foreign, it will be able to substitute this, the development necessity of the diagnosis technique and the measuring instrument is demanded.

  • The lorry based transportation system in korea has many problems such as high domestic logistic cost, environment pollution and road damage etc. Hereupon, the necessity of improvement for national logistics system has been proposed continuously. Therefore we carried out this research through AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to measure relative importance between effect factors and constraint factors and examined the possibility of Modal Shift from lorry transportation to coastal transportation. As the results of this research, the relative priority on modal shift policy enforcement (0.556) is higher than that of maintenance of the present transportation system(0.444).

  • This study examined the social perceptions on the women work force in Korean service industries. 100 questionnaires per each of five service industries, hotel, PCS, department store, general hospital and bank (500 altogether) were distributed to general consumers to measure perceived service quality and perceptions on the women employees in the those service industries. It was found that consumers were not very satisfied with the service quality of the industries. They felt the necessity of women workforce in service industry and agreed to that women employees posessed management quality and had potential to develop.

  • This study aims to present the establishment and necessity of the proper market segmentation by customer preference. In this study, benefit segmentation method was employed using conjoint analysis to measure price elasticity by segmented groups. It presents that the price elasticity is different by characteristic of customers using parcel service in this result. Benefit segmentation, therefore, may use some useful marketing tool when a parcel service company segments the market to provide better service.

  • This study examined the influence of the antecedents of knowledge transfer from both the knowledge source's and recipient's perspectives using a social network survey. Prior research usually focused on either perspective of the knowledge source or recipient, thus could not include both. Analyzing the responses from 335 R&D employees of the five firms, the study showed that all antecedents of knowledge transfer - reward, reciprocity, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control - are influential on knowledge transfer from the knowledge source's perspective. However, from the knowledge recipient's perspective, perceived behavioral control was influential on the quality of knowledge transfer and subjective norm was on the number of knowledge recipients. Expected reward and reciprocity did not show significant influence. This study proved that the necessity of considering both the knowledge source's and the recipient's perspectives when measuring knowledge transfer and the importance of intrinsic motivations, such as subjective norm and perceived behavioral control.

  • Background: This study aimed to identify the impacts of job stress and cognitive failure on patient safety incidents among hospital nurses in Korea. Methods: The study included 279 nurses who worked for at least 6 months in five general hospitals in Korea. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires designed to measure job stress, cognitive failure, and patient safety incidents. Results: This study showed that 27.9% of the participants had experienced patient safety incidents in the past 6 months. Factors affecting incidents were found to be shift work [odds ratio (OR) = 6.85], cognitive failure (OR = 2.92), lacking job autonomy (OR = 0.97), and job instability (OR = 1.02). Conclusion: Patient safety incidents were affected by shift work, cognitive failure, and job stress. Many countermeasures to reduce the incidents caused by shift work, and plans to reduce job stress to reduce the workers' cognitive failure are required. In addition, there is a necessity to reduce job instability and clearly define the scope and authority for duties that are directly related to the patient's safety.

  • Since the launch of the GATT system, one of the most controversial topics in trade liberalization has been the conflict between culture and trade. The sticking point has been the necessity of cultural exceptions in trade rules. Some countries do not wish to allow further exceptions to basic principles even in cultural industry, while many other countries make their efforts to obtain "cultural safety valve." The latter group asserts that it is indispensable for the protection of cultural identity, whereas the former seems to doubt the truth of the assertion. That is because cultural policy measure possibly constitute a means of arbitrary or unjustifiable discrimination between countries, or a disguised barriers to trade in cultural products. Unfortunately, cultural exceptions still remain unresolved in the WTO, the successor to the GATT. This paper is to review the history and rules of multilateral trading system on cultural industry, address the critical issues to deal with in the DDA negotiations, and lastly provide some perspectives on the appropriate shape of the cultural safety valve.
