A GPS Initial Synchronization Method for Robust DGPS Reference Stations in Noisy Environment (잡음환경에 강인한 DGPS 기준국을 위한 GPS 초기동기 방법)

  • In order to enhance the robustness against noisy environment, the previous GPS initial synchronization method of DGPS reference stations adopts not only the coherent integration method but also the non-coherent integration method. However the previous GPS initial synchronization method muses the non-coherent integration loss, which is a dominant factor among the signal acquisition losses in noisy environment. And the non-coherent integration loss increases with the strength of noise signal. In this paper, a novel GPS initial synchronization method is proposed for robust DGPS reference stations in noisy environment. This paper presents that the proposed GPS initial synchronization method suppresses the non-coherent acquisition loss. Furthermore, with regard to the mean acquisition time, it is shown that the number of the search cells of the proposed GPS initial synchronization method is much smaller than that of the previous GPS initial synchronization method Finally, through the simulation by the GPS simulator, it is seen that the GPS signal of nigh signal-to-noise ratio can be acquired under increased noise floor using the proposed GPS initial synchronization method.

Development of Generating Technique for Triangular Mesh by using Distinct Element Method (개별요소법을 이용한 삼각망 생성기법 개발)

  • When the numerical analysis is carried out, it is necessary to set proper elements as a feature of analysis domains for more accurate simulations. In this study, Distinct Element Method(DEM) is applied, only considering repulsive force and tensile force except for frictional force and resisting force of particle. When the filled particles with initial Quad-tree type is relocated by DEM, a blank space existing among the particles can be minimized because the shape of particle is circular. Finally, it is the effective feature that the centroidal disposion of the particles is similar to an equilateral triangle. Triangular mesh are formed by using the Delaunay triangular technique on these relocated particles, the quality of triangular mesh is more improved by carrying out Laplace interpolations. The compared result of Aspect Ratio before and after the Laplace interpolation is shown that although the quality of triangular mesh made by DEM is good, the later triangular mesh are higher quality than the formers. In this study, although the developed technique takes a longer calculational time than the previous technique to generate triangular mesh, it is considered that the applicable possibility is very high in the generation of finite element mesh about wave analysis and various numerical simulation to need a complex or reappearance of exact topography.

  • Current competition among companies than regional, the time constraints, it is globalization, Tilt the efforts of many to be operated by building the efficient distribution system to reduce logistics costs and improve customer service it is reality's there. Therefore, the need for industrial complexes environmentally friendly can be cost competitive companies perform cavitation region's increased. To build the distribution center these logistics system through a joint of freight and appropriate policy is required. In particular, efficient operation through the system construction of industrial complexes in the logistics system is very important in terms of friendly low-cost urban logistics, the environment. Since the traffic volume which is Jipufa and utilization of network is transported by a more appropriate technicians and means suitable operating model can efficiency is improved. However, despite these advantages, research network design has not been actively conducted due to the complexity of the problem. Therefore, in this study, by analyzing the logistics system, and presents the operating model through a simulation and basic settings for the model of the logistics complex based on the analysis result, the construction of infrastructure of logistics industry complex it is intended to present the article.

A Study on the Fabrication of the 4 Port In-Phase High Power Combiner (4포트 동위상 고출력 전력결합기의 구현에 관한 연구)

  • The broadband high power 3-way combiner was designed and fabricated for the digital TV repeater. To achieve increase of the bandwidth and the high power capability, Wilkinson type power divider was adopted in our research. First of all, Wilkinson type power divider of equal-split and unequal-split were combined, and the characteristics of the four port in-phase power combiner was simulated for each thickness of dielectric substrates. As the results of simulation, the power combiner fabricated by using dielectric substrate of 120 mil-thickness has the characteristics as follows: insertion loss of less than -651 dB, reflection coefficient of less than -13 dB, isolation among the output ports of less than -15 dB, and pose difference among the output ports of smiler than 13$^{\circ}$. Therefore, this power combiner was possible to improve the limit of microstrip line width due to high impedance, the problem of power loss due to interaction between strip lines in a high power combiner and narrow bandwidth simultaneously. Furthermore, making broadband and high power could be achieved since the fabricated 3-way combiner has good characteristics of insertion loss, the reflection coefficient, separation between ports, and phase difference.

  • SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan) guidelines for a ship's GHG reduction include a machinery modification of hull, an installation of energy efficiency enhanced attachment in hardware methods. It is also possible to bring a ship energy efficiency improvement by fuel-efficient operations or in other software methods. Hardware modification or installation on ship can bring financial burdens to a ship company compared to its improvement expectation. On the other hand, Software based energy-saving technology can be applicable on various ship types, and it is also expected high efficiency of ship energy use compared to hardware based technology in perspective of the investment costs and efficiency. In this paper, it is described that the ship handling simulator based evaluation was carried out using representative ship model of bulk, container and VLCC. Simulation environments were separated into 6 conditions according to the sea-state and weather condition, and the operation results were compared with those before and after energy saving system applied The container ship showed the largest FOC save rate after energy saving system applied although the others also showed energy save rate after using the system.

Speed Control of Marine Gas Turbine Engine using Nonlinear PID Controller (비선형 PID 제어기를 이용한 선박용 가스터빈 엔진의 속도 제어)

  • A gas turbine engine plays an important role as a prime mover that is used in the marine transportation field as well as the space/aviation and power plant fields. However, it has a complicated structure and there is a time delay element in the combustion process. Therefore, an elaborate mathematical model needs to be developed to control a gas turbine engine. In this study, a modeling technique for a gas generator, a PLA actuator, and a metering valve, which are major components of a gas turbine engine, is explained. In addition, sub-models are obtained at several operating points in a steady state based on the trial running data of a gas turbine engine, and a method for controlling the engine speed is proposed by designing an NPID controller for each sub-model. The proposed NPID controller uses three kinds of gains that are implemented with a nonlinear function. The parameters of the NPID controller are tuned using real-coded genetic algorithms in terms of minimizing the objective function. The validity of the proposed method is examined by applying to a gas turbine engine and by conducting a simulation.

A Study on EM Wave Absorber for Electromagnetic Wave Environment of Wireless LAN at 5.2 GHz (5.2 GHz 무선 LAN의 전자파 환경 대책용 전파흡수체에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the wireless LAN system is rapidly growing because of its convenience of high speed communication. However, the wireless LAN systems at indoor places occur multi-propagation path by reflected waves from walls, ceilings, floors, and desks. Multipath problems cause transmission errors and degradation of communication speed. These problems can be solved by using EM wave absorbers. In this paper, we analyzed property of Graphite and derived the optimum ratio of Graphite: CPE to develop EM wave absorber for the wireless LAN system. First, we fabricated several samples in different composition ratios of Graphite and CPE, and then measured the reflection coefficient of each samples. Material constants of permittivity and permeability were calculated using the measured data and designed EM wave absorber. Secondly, the EM wave absorber was fabricated and tested on the base of the simulation data. As a result, it showed that the EM wave absorber in 1.7 mm thickness with the ratio of Graphite: CPE=50:50 wt.% has excellent absorption ability more than 27 dB at 5.2 GHz.

Design of a Model-Based Fuzzy Controller for Container Cranes (컨테이너 크레인을 위한 모델기반 퍼지제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, we present the model-based fuzzy controller for container cranes which effectively performs set-point tracking control of trolley and anti-swaying control under system parameter and disturbance changes. The first part of this paper focuses on the development of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy modeling in a nonlinear container crane system. Parameters of the membership functions are adjusted by a RCGA to have same dynamic characteristics with nonlinear model of a container crane. In the second part, we present a design methodology of the model-based fuzzy controller. Sub-controllers are designed using LQ control theory for each subsystem in fuzzy model and then the proposed controller is performed with the combination of these sub-controllers by fuzzy IF-THEN rules. In the results of simulation, the fuzzy model showed almost similar dynamic characteristics compared to the outputs of the nonlinear container crane model. Also, the model-based fuzzy controller showed not only the fast settling time for the change in parameter and disturbance, but also stable and robust control performances without any steady-state error.

Study on Hydrodynamic Forces Acting on a Very Large Container Vessel at Lower Depths in Both Still Water and Waves (정수중 및 파랑중 저수심에서의 초대형 컨테이너선에 작용하는 유체력 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the size of container ships has been progressively increasing, and much attention is required for safe navigation in shallow areas such as coastal waters and ports due to increases in draft. It is necessary to understand the characteristics of ship motion not only in still waters but also with waves. Especially in shallow regions, squat due to the vertical movement of the ship can be an important evaluation factor for the safe navigation, and wave drift force acting in the horizontal direction can have a great influence on the maneuverability of a ship. In this study, a numerical simulation using computational fluid dynamics has been performed for the wave exciting force acting in the vertical direction and the wave drift force acting in the horizontal direction for a very large container vessel sailing in shallow zone. As a result, it was found that total resistance in still waters greatly increased in shallow water. Wave drift force was shown to decrease given longer wavelengths regardless of water depth. It was observed that the wave exciting force in shallow water was considerably larger than at other water depths. As wave height against the central part of the ship lowered, the aft side rose.

  • IMO (International Maritime Organization) has been strengthening the regulations of ship emission gas such as sulfur oxides (SOX), nitrogen oxides (NOX) and carbon dioxides (CO2) to protect the marine environment. Especially, ECA (Emission Control Area) has been set and operated in the USA and US. As a countermeasure against these environmental regulations, the demand for environmentally, friendly and highly efficient vessels has led to a growing interest in technology related research with respect to electric propulsion systems capable of reducing exhaust gas. Container ships were excluded from the application coverage of the electric propulsion systems for reasons of operation at economical speed. However, in the future, the need for electric propulsion system is expected to rise, because it is easy to monitor and control so that it can be an applicate to smart ship which are represented by fourth industrial revolution technology. In this study, research was carried out to design a generator and battery capacity through the load analysis of the 6,800TEU container ship to apply the electric propulsion system of the container ship. A capacity design based on the load analysis has an advantage that the generator can be operated in a high efficiency section through the load distribution control using the battery.
