Aids to Navigation have been operated and placed along coasts and navigable waters as guides to mark safe water and to assist mariners in determining their position in relation to land and hidden dangers, controled on the basis of the maine traffic survey. The traditional survey have been conducted by some methods like an ocular observation using portable radar, a on-the-spot survey, a questionnaire. But these methods must have a lot of manpower and expenses. In this paper, we have developed the module which have some real time processing functions like making a database of radar image using PC camera, saving of the vessel's track, analysis if the maine traffic tendency and the distribution of density.

This paper describes the development of AVN(Audio Video Navigation) software for vehicle information analysis and gesture recognition. The module that examine the CAN(Controller Area Network) data of vehicle in the designed software analyzes the driving state. Using classified information, the AVN software converge vehicle information and hand gesture information. As the result, the derived data is used to match the service step and to perform the service. The designed AVN software was implemented in HW platform that common used in vehicles. And we confirmed the operation of vehicle analysing module and gesture recognition in a simulated environment that is similar with real world.

This study is about the development of emergency response guidance according to the fire safety index in the fire safety module, which is one of the on-board remote monitoring system. In this paper divided the zones based on the location of the fire sensor for passenger ship which is one of the service passenger ships and developed on the emergency response guidance by the identified zones.
The integrated modular avionics (IMA) system has quite a number of line repalceable moduels (LRMs) in a cabinet. The LRM performs functions like line replaceable units (LRUs) in federated architecture. The video processing module (VPM) acts as a video bus bridge and gateway of ARINC 818 avionics digital video bus (ADVB). The VPM is a LRM in IMA core system. The ARINC 818 video interface and protocol standard was developed for high-bandwidth, low-latency and uncompressed digital video transmission. FPGAs of the VPM include video processing function such as ARINC 818 to DVI, DVI to ARINC 818 convertor, video decoder and overlay. In this paper we explain how to implement VPM's Hardware. Also we show the verification results about VPM functions and IP core performance.

A vehicle Control System that is a system combined by a Car Navigation System, a Geograhical Information System, and a Communication Network usually permit a central control room to detect vehicle's locations dynamically and manage these informations synthetically. Therefore, a vehicle control system can be used to control the rapid movement of patrol cars, freight transportation, and so on. In this paper, we designed and implemented a data manager for an application system, such as a vehicle control system, that usually manages road data, vehicle data, vehicle's location data, etc. The data manager that is implemented in this paper consists of system management module, road data management module, vehicle data management module, GPS(Global Positioning System) data management module, and additional data management module. Especially, we use the SHORE(Scalable Heterogeneous Object REpository) system as a storage system of the data manager.
This paper studies the security module for the reliable transmission of the meter reading and the control data between the remote terminals and the upper server-side in smart water grid. The proposed security module was implemented to make it attachable to the remote terminal without security function. In particular, unlike the smart grid of electric field, the low power is considered due to the use of battery power in the smart water grid, and the ARIA-GCM-128 symmetric key method is adopted taking into the account that the damp and constrictive environments by the installed meter location in the underground occur a communication obstacle on building of the large-scale network system. The encryption module of this paper was devised to ensure the safety between the reading data on the terminal and the control data from the upper server, and secure the stability of the remote meter reading system by taking protection against an arbitrary alteration or modification.

GPS adapter kit (GAK) is a GPS/INS guided range extension system to improve the accuracy and availability of existing dumb bombs. In this paper, a van test result of GPS/INS navigation module (NM) for guided bomb with GAK has been presented. The NM consists of a commercial MEMS IMU, embedded GPS receiver and navigation computer unit (NCU). The GPS receiver of NM was designed to use multiple antennas for satellite visibility and GPS attitude determination. The real-time navigation software was designed by modularized structure to guarantee the maintainability and extensibility. In order to evaluate the performance of the NM, a van test was preformed by using a high performance INS - Honeywell H-726 MAPS(Modular Azimuth Position System). The van test results show that the GAK NM with GPS attitude measurement gives better navigation performance than a conventional GPS/INS integration and good coasting capabilities under jamming environment.

Recently, the development of Maritime Service Portfolios (MSPs) for the safe navigation of ship has been discussed internationally. For the successful service of the MSPs, first of all, studies for the standardization about the structure and data structure of MSPs should be preceded. Also, it is necessary to evaluate and assess whether the services are effective for safe navigation, and provided data and portrayal methods are proper. However, because great dangers will be accompanied when untested MSPs about their effectiveness and safety are applied in real ship navigation, it is necessary that effectiveness and safety of the MSPs should be proven under various navigational conditions and environments by simulation. In this paper, we propose a 3D navigation simulation system using desktop PC environment, which is proper for evaluating the effectiveness of MSPs. The system consists of three modules which are simulation scenario editor, 3D visualization of navigational environment and 2D navigational equipment. The scenario editor module provides an environment setting for simulation, such as properties, routes and positions of vessels and aids to navigations. It also provides functions to create a scenario for the simulation to operate. Additionally, the 3D visualization module provides 3D navigational environment which shows interplay between geographical and navigational environment based on the created scenario. The 2D navigational equipment module provides visualization functions of various navigational equipment, shows the interaction between ship's navigational equipment and ship's environment. The simulation scenario, in which various kinds of ships are routing in the port, is created by the developed simulation system, and experimented whether this developed system is appropriate to evaluate and assess the MSPs developed by the International Maritime Organization.

The maritime industry is expanding at an alarming rate hence there is a perpetual need to improve situation awareness in the maritime environment using new and emerging technology. Tracking is one of the numerous ways of enhancing situation awareness by providing information that may be useful to the operator. The tracking module designed herein comprises determining existing states of high dynamic target warship, state prediction and state compensation due to random noise. This is achieved by first analyzing the process of tracking followed by design of a tracking algorithm that uses ${\alpha}-{\beta}-{\gamma}$ tracking filter under a random noise. The algorithm involves initializing the state parameters which include position, velocity, acceleration and the course. This is then followed by state prediction at each time interval. A weighted difference of the observed and predicted state values at the $n^{th}$ observation is added to the predicted state to obtain the smoothed (filtered) state. This estimation is subsequently employed to determine the predicted state in the next radar scan. The filtering coefficients ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ and ${\gamma}$ are determined from a pre-determined value of the damping parameter, ${\xi}$. The smoothed, predicted and the observed positions are used to compute the twice distance root mean square (2drms) error as a measure of the ability of the tracking module to manage the noise to acceptable levels.
This paper suggests a new algorithm to provide low-cost GPS modules with DGPS service, which corrects the error vector in the already-calculated position by projecting range corrections to position domain using the observation matrix calculated from the satellite elevation and azimuth angle in the NMEA GPGSV data. The algorithm reduced the horizontal and vertical RMS error of U-blox LEA-5H module from 1.8m/5.8m to 1.0m/1.4m during the daytime. The algorithm has advantage in improving the performance of low-cost module to that of DGPS receiver by a software update without any correction in hardware, therefore it is expected to contribute to the vitalization of the future high-precision position service infrastructure by reducing the costumer cost and vender risk.
