  • From large to small vessels of the surface is not smooth. and The surface ship has a surface roughness. Because surface roughness increases the surface resistance and heat transfer, be considered when designing a ship that is an important design factor. Due to surface roughness study on flow around and due to changes in flow and turbulence intensity for the ongoing research is conducted. Roughness of the surface ships from the ship by air as well as machines can be widely applied. In this study, the surface roughness of the leisure marine interval, any change will affect the surface flow, area due to surface roughness for boundary-experimental study was performed.

  • Recently, renewed attention for technological applications within the maritime industry has taken place, particularly regarding unmanned vessels. There has been a lot of interest about the number of projects aiming at testing the operational feasibility of unmanned vessels, particularly in relation to technological, safety and security issues. Nevertheless, no studies have investigated this issue from the point of view of seafarers towards unmanned vessels; this paper aims at filling this gap. Data has been collected through a survey questionnaire. A Pearson correlational coefficient has been used to test the correlation between some of the variables. The results show that more than half of the respondents indicated that unmanned vessels do not contribute to an increase in accidents at sea. In addition, seafarers believe unmanned vessels will not be operational in the near future, with most of the respondents indicating a 10-20 year time frame. Thirdly, most of the respondents(both officers and ratings).

  • There are cofferdam and watertight wall to prevent of circulation or pollution during building of ocean structures like a dam and bridge in the harbors area and the sea. Inflow fluid and base of structure is important thing as one of the structural design factors for this interception wall like a cofferdam and watertight wall. In this study, it is revealed that at least 500 instantaneous velocity field data are required for ensemble average to get reliable turbulence statistics. The turbulent shear flow around a surface-mounted vertical wall was investigated by using the two-frame PIV(CACTUS 3.1) system and Mean velocity distributions have also been measured in the whole flow field.

  • Track maintenance works based on track geometry recordings are essential to enhance the safety and comfort of railway transportation. Usually, the track irregularity has been measured by a special inspection trains which all were imported from abroad. Because the inspection train speed is limited under 160 km/h, it takes a long time to inspect railways and there is difficulty in daytime operation. To solve this problem, we started to develop a track geometry measuring system (TGMS) with measurement speed up to 300 km/h which can be installed in commercial vehicles such as HEMU-430X. In this paper, we introduce a newly developed inertial TGMS and propose two inertial navigation system (INS) algorithms (method A, B) for measuring track geometry. In order to investigate advantage and disadvantage of each algorithm, we performed vibration test of the TGMS, which was simulated by 6-axis shaking table. Through the vibration test, we analyzed the influence of vehicle vibration on the TGMS which will be installed on bogie frame. To the vibration test, two methods satisfied the required accuracy of track geometry measurement under the level of the actual vehicle vibration of HEMU-430X train. Theoretically, method A is sensitive to vehicle vibration than method B. However, HEMU-430X's bogie vibration frequency range is out of interest range of measurement system. Therefore, method A can also apply the HEMU-430X train.

  • In this paper, we introduce extended problems of Tower of Hanoi (ToH) and propose a novel visualization method to express a state space of ToH. As for the extended problems, we introduce multi-peg ToH, multi-stack ToH, and regular state ToH. The novel visualization method in this paper is a natural extension of Hanoi graph visualization. In the proposed method, we assign one Cartesian coordinate point per each disk to provide an unified visualization that the marks on a link and the changes of a state should correspond with a peg position of a disk. Compared with Hanoi graph, the generated graph by the proposed method is isomorphic if we remove links of forbidden move, which indicates that our method is a generalization of Hanoi graph and thus is more expressive. To help the understanding of the readers, we show the generated graphs by our method when the number of disks is 2 and 3.

  • An experiment was carried out to figure out the instantaneous flow characteristics in the wake of the transom stern's 2-dimensional section by 2-frame grey level cross correlation PIV method at $Re=3.5{\times}103$, $Re=7.0{\times}103$. The stern angles of models were learning at $45^{\circ}$(Model "A"), $90^{\circ}$(Model "B") and $135^{\circ}$(Model "C") respectively based on the survey results of real ships. The depth of wetted surface is 40mm from free surface. As Reynolds number increases, vortices increase in volume and move their way to the downstream. Flow separation appeared at the end of model's bottom.

  • The main purpose in having a control surface on a ship is to control the motion of it. It is the important element to determine the maneuvering characteristics of the ship. In this paper, the measured results has been compared with each other to predict the performance characteristics of flapped rudder's 2-dimensional section at $Re=3.0{\times}10^4$ using 2-frame grey level cross correlation PIV method. The side force of the rudder could be mainly improved by the lift force at 10 degrees angle of attack and the drag force at 20 degrees angle of attack. The separation point and boundary layer could be controlled by the change of the only flap's angle at 10 degrees angle of attack.

  • Flow characteristics of the control-rod-attached 2-dimensional circular cylinder was accomplished using by PIV techniques. model tests had been carried out with different diameters of control rods(d/D=0.1 through d/D=0.5). and the Reynolds number Re=15,000 based on the cylinder diameter(D=50mm) to predict the performance of the model and the two-frame grey-level cross-correlation method had been used to obtain the velocity distribution in the flow field. 50mm circular cylinder had been used during the whole experiments and measured results had been compared with each other. The measured results have been compared with each case. therefore this article identifies not only the mean velocity profiles but also the control effects of the control rods.

  • This paper presents and implements a simple programmable PCM encoder structure uisng the commutation method. In the telemetry system, information is required to assign each data to the channel in order to generate a frame format the data acpuired from the sensor. In this case, when the number of state information is large or the data type is various, there is a necessity to input a large amount of information to each channel. However, the more the number of channels and data, the more probability the error will occur. Therefore, in this paper, the channel information is created using the program. And PCM encoder was implemented to store channel information in ROM. The proposed PCM encoder architecture reduces the likelihood of errors. And it can improve the development speed. The validity of proposed structure is proved by simulation.

  • The GNSS coordinate time series is used as important data for geophysical analysis such as terrestrial reference frame establishment, crustal deformation, Earth orientation parameter estimation, etc. However, various factors may cause discontinuity in the coordinate time series, which may lead to errors in the interpretation. In this paper, we describe the discontinuity in the coordinate time series due to the equipment replacement for domestic GNSS stations and discuss the change in movement magnitude and velocity vector difference in each direction before and after discontinuity correction. To do this, we used three years (2017-2019) of data from 40 GNSS stations. The average magnitude of the velocity vector in the north-south, east-west, and vertical directions before correction is -12.9±1.5, 28.0±1.9, and 4.2±7.6 mm/yr, respectively. After correction, the average moving speed in each direction was -13.0±1.0, 28.2±0.8, and 0.7±2.1 mm/yr, respectively. The average magnitudes of the horizontal GNSS velocity vectors before and after discontinuous correction was similar, but the deviation in movement size of stations decreased after correction. After equipment replacement, the change in the vertical movement occurred more than the horizontal movement variation. Moreover, the change in the magnitude of movement in each direction may also cause a change in the velocity vector, which may lead to errors in geophysical analysis.
