Clustering is a data mining method, which consists in discovering interesting data distributions in very large databases. In traditional data clustering, similarity of a cluster of object is measured by pairwise similarity of objects in that paper. In view of the nature of clustering transactions, we devise in this paper a novel measurement called item similarity and utilize this to perform clustering. With this item similarity measurement, we develop an efficient clustering algorithm for target marketing in each group.

This paper describes the applications of genetic algorithm to nonlinear constrained optimization problems. Genetic algorithms are combinatorial in nature, and therefore are computationally suitable for treating continuous and idstrete integer design variables. For several problems , the conventional genetic algorithms are ill-defined , which comes from the application of penalty function , encoding and decoding methods, fitness scaling, and premature convergence of solution. Thus, we develope a hybrid genetic algorithm to resolve these problems and present two examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the methodology developed in this paper.

Wavelet transform is not applicable to arbitrarily-shaped region (or object) in images, due to the nature of its global decomposition. In this paper, the arbitrarily-shaped wavelet transform(ASWT) is proposed in order to solve this problem and its properties are investigated. Computation complexity of the ASWT is also examined and it is shown that the ASWT requires significantly fewer computations than conventional wavelet transform, since the ASWT processes only the object region in the original image. Experimental resutls show that any arbitrarily-shaped image segment can be decomposed using the ASWT and perfectly reconstructed using the inverse ASWT.

In this paper, in order to economize energy inside the vertical-type water treatment plant, a chamber-illumination-LED control board, which operates via nature light or human's touches, is proposed. Moreover, this illumination control process is contrived to be wirelessly monitored in real-rime. In addition, Zigbee communication code is programmed to implement the control board's function of wireless data transmission and automatic LED brightness control. The presented control method contrives brightness to be adjusted in real-time by dimming control, which means nature light changes control, so that the interior energy can realize the maximum energy conservation.

Library authorities are responsible for allocating its resources to best achieve library goals. This means the question of benefits and costs for library activities, as well as a n.0, pplication of economic theory to it. To consider these, this study dealt with theoretical analysis: 1) the nature of economic models, 2) economic theory to library activities, 3) and its a n.0, pplicability. However, economic model method allows us to use an analytic technique that is founded on library production and consumption. Thus, its major contribution is creation of a framework or system for maximizing the efficient library activities.

In this paper we have proposed a new loss function, namely, non-linear exponential(NLINEX) loss function, which is quite asymmetric in nature. We obtained the Bayes estimator under exponential(LINEX) and squared error(SE) loss functions. Moreover, a numerical comparison among the Bayes estimators of power function distribution under SE, LINEX, and NLINEX loss function have been made.

A noble caption text detection and recognition algorithm using the temporal nature of video is proposed in this paper. A text registration technique is used to locate the temporal and spatial positions of captions in video from the accumulated frame difference information. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective and robust. Also, a high processing speed is achieved since no time consuming operation is included.
