Current ecological stream restoration is focusing on recovery of physical characteristic and ecological functions of individual stream. For effective stream restoration, the relationship between stream environment and riparian flora should be investigated. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between disturbance of hydromorphological structures and naturalized plants ratio in small to mid-sized streams. For the study sites, Gwanpyeong stream, Dongdal stream, and Yongchoo streams were chosen as 'reference stream' while, Gunnam stream, Anchang stream, and Hwa stream were chosen as 'damaged stream'. The hydromorphological structures of streams were evaluated with LAWA and flora of the streams were completely enumerated to calculate naturalized plants ratio. The result showed that there was a significant correlation between the outcome of LAWA and naturalized plants ratio(r=0.675, p<0.01). The result of factor analysis of LAWA identified three factors, 'River front and land use', 'River bed materials and structures', and 'Crossing structure and bar'. Among the factors of hydromorphological structures given by the result of factor analysis, 'river front and land use' and 'bed materials and structures' have statistically significant relationship with naturalized plants ratio($R^2$=0.470, p<0.01). Given this results, quantitative analysis on the relationship between disturbance of hydromorphological structures of streams and naturalized plants ratio could provide some essential information for stream restoration. Also, as this study figured out major factors of hydromorphological structures that affect naturalized plants ratio, it might help monitor ecological states and current problems of small and mid-sized streams.
The purpose of this study is carried out to present the raw data for restoring and maintaining an urban stream by objective surveying and analysing about flora in Changwon stream and Nam stream, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. The results are as follows. The numbers of vascular plants were summarized as 248 taxa; 71 families, 184 genera, 220 species, 26 varieties and 2 forma. The numbers of vascular plants by streams were 202 taxa in Changwon stream and 206 taxa in Nam stream. The endemic plant was Salix pseudolasiogyne. The rare plants designated by Korea Foret Service were 2 taxa; Aristolochia contorta and Koelreuteria paniculata. The specific plants by floristic region were 12 taxa; Aphananthe aspera, Artemisia selengensis, Indigofera pseudotinctoria and so forth. The naturalized plants were 37 taxa; Ailanthus altissima, Amaranthus patulus, Amorpha fruticosa and so forth. The invasive alien plants designated by Ministry of Environment were 4 taxa; Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior, Aster pilosus, Rumex acetocella and Solanum carolinense. The UI (Urbanized Index) and NI (Naturalized Index) were 13.6% and 18.3% in Changwon stream and 13.6% and 17.9% in Nam stream.

The flora of the Sinpyeong and Churyeong stream were listed 324 taxa; 87 families, 227 genera, 289 species, 1 subspecies, 31 varieties and 3 forms. The Sinpyeong stream were 249 taxa and Churyeong stream were 221 taxa. Based on the rare plants (IUCN) by the Korea Forest Service and Korea National Arboretum were recorded; Penthorum chinense (Crassulaceae), etc. and endemic plants, 6 taxa; Weigela subsessilis (Caprifoliaceae), Lycoris flavescens (Amarylidaceae), etc. Based on the specific plants by floral region were total 12 taxa (3.7% of all 324 taxa of flora); Monochoria korsakowi (Pontederiaceae), etc. in class III. 10 taxa (Salix glandulosa (Salicaceae), Ulmus parvifolia (Ulmaceae), Impatiens noli-tangere (Balsaminaceae), Grewia biloba var. parviflora (Tiliaceae), Nymphoides peltata (Gentianaceae), Actinostemma lobatum (Cucurbitaceae), Cirsium pendulum (Compositae), Microstegium japonicum (Gramineae), etc.) in class I. Based on the naturalized plants, 51 taxa and ecosystem disturbing wild plants, 6 taxa (Rumex acetosella, Sicyos angulatus, Aster pilosus, Ambrosia artemisiaefolia, Hypochaeris radicata, Paspalum distichum var. distichum) and naturalization rate was 15.7% of all 324 taxa of flora, urbanization index was 18.8% of all 271 taxa of naturalized plants. Based on the hydrophytes, 23 taxa and emergent hydrophytes were 17 taxa, floating-leaved hydrophytes were 3 taxa, submergent hydrophytes were 2 taxa, free-floating hydrophytes was Spirodela polyrhiza.
This study was surveyed to know changing flora between pre and post of restoration in cheonggyechon. As results, it was surveyed families 33, species 94 in 2003 and families 39, species 156 in 2005. In 2006, it was surveyed families 38, species 171. This result shows that cheonggyechon is unstable initial condition in restored stream ecosystem. Also, Naturalized species was 19 species in 2003 and it was respectively 44, 46 species in 2005, 2006. Hazard species of ecosystem was in common 3 species in three surveys. Recently, as time goes by, introduced species are increasing. And succession has mainly been progressed by one year or binary herbs. To administer restored stream ecosystem, monitoring is essential. Therefore, continuous monitoring about Naturalized species and Hazard species of ecosystem is also very important. Further, Because change of vegetation on pre and post of Restoration in Cheonggyechon Stream is very important, Monitoring will have been surveyed continuously.
It is expected that the different techniques of stream restoration could be caused the different conditions of the stream ecosystem. The study was to investigate and compare plants and vegetation clusters of appearing plant species in the upper and lower section of the Seo-Ho stream, It was classified and listed all of the plants appeared in the upper and lower section of the stream, It was used the belt-transect method and Unweighted pair group method using arithmetic algorithm in order to examine and analyzed discover the vegetation clusters, In the result, 28 families and 114 species appeared in the upper section, In the other side, 26 families and 93 species appeared in the lower section of the steam. The naturalized index of the upper section was 21%, and that of the lower section was 27%. In addition, the upper section has more various geographical features than lower section of the stream. So that, consequently the study shows that the different techniques of stream restoration could be caused the different growth of the stream ecosystem.
This study was surveyed to identify changes of flora during three years after restoration in Cheonggyecheon stream. There are four sections in Cheonggyecheon. One and two sections are upper streams and three and four sections are down streams. It was surveyed 328 species in 2006. In 2007 and 2008, 446 and 444 species were found, respectively. This result shows that Cheonggyecheon is unstable initial condition in restored stream ecosystem. Naturalized species were 58 species in 2006 and it was respectively 61 and 63 species in 2007 and 2008. Hazard species of ecosystem were three common species during survey period. In appearance of flora per section, three and four sections constituted by natural sites such as point bars, wide flood plains, riffles and ponds, marshes, etc. were surveyed more species than one and two constructed by concrete materials and narrow flow channel. Recently, as time goes by, introduced species are being increased. And succession has mainly been progressed by one year or binary herbs and perennial herbs. Compared with other restored streams, Cheonggyecheon showed more flora than Yangjaecheon and Anyangcheon. It is judged owing to length of surveyed site, various planted species and area of inhabitation space. To manage restored stream ecosystem, monitoring is essential. Further, because change of vegetation after restoration in Cheonggyecheon is very important, continuous monitoring about Flora and Naturalized species and Hazard species of ecosystem is also very important.
