The vegetation structure within Chamaecyparis obtusa plantation was analyzed for the purpose of applying the effective forestation method for Chmaecyparis obtusa plantation, tending and regeneration in the southern districts of korea. The results were as follows ; 1. The importance percentage was high in the order of Eurya japonica, Rhus verniciflua, Chamaecyparis obtusa, Lindera erythrocarpa, Carpinus laxiflora, Styrax japonica, Viburnum dilatatum, Zanthoxylum piperitum and Smilax china among the vegetation of Chamaecyparis obtusa. Importance percentage of natural seedling of Chamaecyparis obtusa was high in lower story but gradually decreased in middle story. 2. The basal area of upper trees had a negative correlation with the density of natural seedlings in the middle and lower story, and it represents that the basal area of upper trees had some effect on the density of natural seedlings within understories. 3. The rate of the A and B class by Raunkiaer's frequency was higher in the vegetation of middle story than that of lower story. 4. By Morisita's index, the species of Chamaecyparis obtusa, Rhus verniciflua, Lindera erythrocarpa, Smilax china. Callicarpa japonica and Lindera obtusiloba were randomly distributed at lower story, but they were aggregatively distributed at middle story. At all of middle and lower story, Eurya japonica and Viburum dilatatum were randomly distributed, and Carpinus laxiflora, Zanthoxylum piperitum and Picrasma quassioides were aggregatively distributed. 5. The number of appearance species and the value of species diversity in western survey area were more than that of eastern survey area. 6. The value of species diversity at lower story was higher than that of middle story, and it represents that the number of individuals of appearance species was composed more even at lover story than middle story. 7. According to cluster analysis by similarity index, the survey areas were separated from inland and seacoast districts. 8. Judging from each stories ordination analysis by dissimilarity index, the vegetation was separated from lower and middle story, and the vegetation of lower story was more progressed succession stage than that of middle story. 9. In Chamaecyparis obtusa stands, Eurya japonica had a positive correlation with Sorbus alnifolia, Hex macropoda. Ficus erecta and Trachelospermum asiaticum, but it had a negative correlation with Zanthoxylum piperitum, Carpinus laxiflora and Parthenocissus tricuspidata. 10. In estimation of the productivity of Chamaecyparis obtusa stands, the value of SC (Conic surface) and VP (Parabolic volume) for upper trees was 94.5% and 99.63%, respectively and SC and VP of middle story was 5.49% and 0.37%, respectively. In the species of middle story, material productivity was high in order of Eurya japonica. Lindera eryhrocarpa, Rhus verniciflua. Carpinus laxiflora and Styrax japonica.

In this study, Analyze environment of location, investigation into vegetation resources, survey management status and establish to classify the management area for Natural monument No.374 Pyengdae-ri Torreya nucifera forest. The results were as follows: First, Torreya nucifera forest is concerned about influence of development caused by utilization of land changes to agricultural region. Thus, establish to preservation management plan for preservation of prototypical and should be excluded development activity to cause the change of terrain that Gotjawal in the Torreya nucifera forest is factor of base for generating species diversity. Secondly, Torreya nucifera forest summarized as 402 taxa composed 91 familly 263 genus, 353 species, 41 varieties and 8 forms. The distribution of plants for the first grade & second grade appear of endangered plant to Ministry of Environment specify. But, critically endangered in forest by changes in habitat, diseases and illegal overcatching. Therefore, when establishing forest management plan should be considered for put priority on protection. Thirdly, Torreya nucifera representing the upper layer of the vegetation structure. But, old tree oriented management and conservation strategy result in poor age structure. Furthermore, desiccation of forest on artificial management and decline in Torreya nucifera habitat on ecological succession can indicate a problem in forest. Therefore, establish plan such as regulation of population density and sapling tree proliferation for sustainable characteristics of the Torreya nucifera forest. Fourth, Appear to damaged of trails caused by use. Especially, Scoria way occurs a lot of damaged and higher than the share ratio of each section. Therefore, share ratio reduction Plan should be considered through the additional development of tourism routes rather than the replacement of Scoria. Fifth, Representing high preference of the Torreya nucifera forest tourist factor confirmed the plant elements. It is sensitive to usage pressure. And requires continuous monitoring by characteristic of Non-permanent. In addition, need an additional plan such as additional development of tourism elements and active utilizing an element of high preference. Sixth, Strength of protected should be differently accordance with importance. First grade area have to maintenance of plant population and natural habitats. Set the direction of the management. Second grade areas focus on annual regeneration of the forest. Third grade area should be utilized demonstration forest or set to the area for proliferate sapling. Fourth grade areas require the introduced of partial rest system that disturbance are often found in proper vegetation. Fifth grade area appropriate to the service area for promoting tourism by utilizing natural resources in Torreya nucifera forest. Furthermore, installation of a buffer zone in relatively low ratings area and periodic monitoring to the improvement of edge effect that adjacent areas of different class.

Based on previous research on ways of reducing an urban heat island phenomenon via an introduction of wind corridors, I conducted this study to see what influence a change in land cover arising of or going through urbanization has on wind corridors of urban space. As a target place, I chose Daegu city where is a representative extreme heat place in Korea and has been also largely expanded in size by incorporating its neighboring areas since the 1980s, expecially Dalseo District whose surface temperature gap is large. The population of Dalseo District has been sharply increased since its creation as a new administrative district in 1988. I studied on the urban microclimate change for a 20-year period by using satellite images on summer months in 1987, 1997 and 2007 in time frames. The finding of this study found that a reduction of natural land cover and an increase of artificial land cover serves as a disadvantageous factor for cold air creation and flowing and strikingly lowers the amount and height of cold air in the downtown area. It seemed that the cold air creation and flowing functions are influenced by land cover. In order to steadily create cold air and secure its flowing, it is thought that urban development or urban regeneration should be implemented by analysing the characteristics of the space surrounding the city. By doing so, a pleasant and healthy city could be formed.

The main purpose of this research is for the investigation on the impact of engine oil aging on PM and DPF. It is widely known that lubricant specifications and consumption from an ICE have significantly influenced on the regulated and unregulated harmful emissions as the engine operating conditions. Considering DPF clogging phenomena with lubricant-derived soot/ash components, simulated aging mode for the DPF was newly designed for engine dynamometer testing. PM/ash accumulation cycle were developed in reflecting real-world engine operating conditions for the increment of engine oil consumption and natural DPF regeneration for the ash accumulation. The test duration for DPF aging reached around 100hrs with high- and low-SAPS engine oils, respectively. Using high SAPs engine oil made more PM/ash accumulation compared with low SAPs engine oils and it could accelerate fouling of EGR in engine. Fouling of EGR made effects on more harmful exhaust gases emissions. The test results on engine lubricant under engines operating conditions will deliver for the establishment of regulated and unregulated toxic emissions policy, lubricant quality standard.

Background: Active natural ingredients, especially small molecules, have recently received wide attention as modifiers used to treat neurodegenerative disease by promoting neurogenic regeneration of neural stem cell (NSC) in situ. 20(S)-protopanaxadiol (PPD), one of the bioactive ingredients in ginseng, possesses neuroprotective properties. However, the effect of PPD on NSC proliferation and differentiation and its mechanism of action are incompletely understood. Methods: In this study, we investigated the impact of PPD on NSC proliferation and neuronal lineage differentiation through activation of the Wnt/glycogen synthase kinase (GSK)-3β/β-catenin pathway. NSC migration and proliferation were investigated by neurosphere assay, Cell Counting Kit-8 assay, and EdU assay. NSC differentiation was analyzed by Western blot and immunofluorescence staining. Involvement of the Wnt/GSK3β/β-catenin pathway was examined by molecular simulation and Western blot and verified using gene transfection. Results: PPD significantly promoted neural migration and induced a significant increase in NSC proliferation in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, a remarkable increase in anti-microtubule-associated protein 2 expression and decrease in nestin protein expression were induced by PPD. During the differentiation process, PPD targeted and stimulated the phosphorylation of GSK-3β at Ser9 and the active forms of β-catenin, resulting in activation of the Wnt/GSK-3β/β-catenin pathway. Transfection of NSCs with a constitutively active GSK-3β mutant at S9A significantly hampered the proliferation and neural differentiation mediated by PPD. Conclusion: PPD promotes NSC proliferation and neural differentiation in vitro via activation of the Wnt/GSK-3β/β-catenin pathway by targeting GSK-3β, potentially having great significance for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
In this paper we have introduced some results of study on stand growth pattern and stand structure of larch forest which are located in selected forest sites of Khangai and Gobi-Altai mountain ranges of Mongolia. Our investigations showed that growth intensity and stand structure in western Mongolia are very specific from the other forest vegetation zones of Mongolia. Studies on the stand structure and growth trend indicate that tree types of stand structure and different types of growth of Larix sibrica are very common in Western Mongolia. These peculiarities of stand structure and growth of larch stands in Western Monolia could be used for inventory work and an improvement of the forest management in Western Mongolian region. The larch tree is the dominant tree species in Western Mogolia. Forest cover of the region is about 15%, which is two times higher than the country's average. In this region forest area is divided into 4 forest sub-regions: the Central Khangai, Western Khangai, North Eastern Khangai and South Easterun Khangai sub-regions including taiga, pseudo taiga, sub taiga, sub-alpine and forest steppe belts. Silviculture practices and forest research management request to study forest growth trends in local and general conditions, which means to indicate a change of taxonomic characteristics of stand from time to time including diameter, height, basal area, growth stock etc. The forest management practice mostly uses tables of forest growth and yield based on the results of long term research on forest growth. Forest yield tables and other relevant forest standards of Russia are used for the forest inventory and forest management. They are not able to determine forest structure and growth peculiatities of Mongolian forests. Studies on forest resource assessment in Mongolia indicate that after logging operations and forest fires the natural regeneration of desired species such as pine and larch often does not succeed. This situation forces to take a different approach of forest management and silviculture practice depending on the stand structure and growth rate of the forest stands. According to our investigation in last years, forest growth pattern of larch forest depends mostly on stand structure, stand age and growth condition including forest soil, climate and location in different slopes. Due to improve environmental function of forest ecosystem in the region, it is needed to conduct very comprehensive study of high mountain forest ecosystem in selected sub-regions.

The dentigerous cyst originates through alteration of stellate reticulum after amelogenesis has completed, with accumulation of fluid between the layers of the reduced enamel epithelium or between this epithelium and the tooth crown. Its incidence is relatively high on 10s or 20s of age and it is always related to the unerupted crown. Generally, it has no symptom, however, if the cyst is large or accompanied with pus formation, swelling and pain may occur. In radiographic findings, it shows impacted crown surrounded by well defined unilocular radiolucent lesion and occasionally displacement of adjacent teeth or root resorption. The goal of treatment is complete elimination of abnormal tissue preserving the tooth involved in the cyst. Enucleation and marsupialization are commonly used for the treatment. Marsupialization is the procedure which removes the partial portion of the cystic wall and connects with the oral mucosa. As the pressure in the cyst decreases, bone regeneration takes place in the defect area and cystic wall converts into normal mucosa. This procedure, however, is the most conservative procedure which allows the protection of adjacent important structures. If the eruption space is sufficient, then inducing the eruption of the permanent tooth in the cyst is also possible. In following cases, dentigerous cyst was diaganosed after clinical and radiographic examination. Marsupialazation was done to remove the cyst and induce the tooth, which was in the cyst, to erupt into the oral cavity.
The most important object of periodontal treatment is the perfect regeneration of destructed periodontal tissue. The healing of periodontal lesion is affected by several cells & factors, which result in formation of long juntional epithelium, root resorption, bony ankylosis or connective tissue attachment. And ideal healing is enhanced by epithilial exclusion or periodontal ligament cell activation. In this investigation, I studied the effect of Zizyphus Fructus extract which enhances biologic activity& collagen synthesis, on the chemotaxis & cell nature. The cells were obtained from interdental area & middle third area of the freshly extracted teeth for the orthodontic purpose. And they were fully incubated in${\alpha}-MEM$ solution containing $100{\mu]g/ml$ penicillin & $100{\mu]g/ml$ streptomycin followed by 6 generation incubation. The test cells were collected by trypsin-EDTA & centrifuge in the fully incubated cells, counted by Hernacyotmeter, incbated $5{\times}10^5/ml$ cells for 24 hours, re-incubated 24 hours in media containing natural extract and photographed. The cells were incubated for 4 hours in 48 well microchemotaxis chamber bisecting upper & lower chamber by 8ug/m pore polycarbonate membrane coating 5mg/ml gelatin solution. The migrated cells in microscope were counted, which meaned cell chemotaxis activity. The study had shown that the morphology of cell was spindle-shaped as the control group, and the subextract test groups were not significantly different. In gingival fibroblasts, the chemotaxis effect of PDGF was statistically significant compared to control group. The Zizyphus Fructus extract was more or less enhanced chemotaxis effect and in $1{\mu}g/ml$ concentration the chemotaxis effect was slightly elevated compared with $10{\mu}g/ml$ concentration. But, among the subextracts, it was not significantly defferent. In PDL cells, the chemotaxis effect of PDGF in statistically significant, and the zizyphus Fructus extract had shown the enhanced effect. The effect was slightly higher in $1{\mu}g/ml$ concentration than 10g/ml concentration,and no significance among the subextracts.
This experiment was conducted to investigate the induction rate of callus and antioxidative activity of rosemary and lavender. Callus induction rate of rosemary was 92% and 94% at 0.5mg/L and 1.0mg/L of 2,4-D in the media, respectively. The antioxidative activities of rosemary appeared differently according to the callus cultured under various concentrations of plant growth regulators. The strongest effect was observed at 0.1mg/L of 2,4-D extract, with $43{\pm}1.5{\mu}g/mL$ of an RC50 value. Callus induction rate of lavender was 98% and 99% at 1.0mg/L of 2,4-D and 1.0mg/L of NAA in the media, respectively. The regeneration rate of roots lavender was 85% at 1.0mg/L of NAA in the media. Antioxidative activities of lavender appeared diffently according to the callus cultured under plant growth regulators. The strongest effect was observed in 0.1mg/L of 2,4-D extract, with $37.6{\pm}0.9{\mu}g/mL$ of an RC50 value, which could be compared with value of leaf.
Recently, construction techniques have been rapidly developed with reconstruction of old buildings, urban regeneration and efforts of restoring natural ecology, so demolition of deteriorated buildings has been rapidly increasing. Demolition work of building should be executed without damaging surrounding environments according to relevant regulations. There are various demolition methods and among them, explosives demolition is the most practical way for expenses and safety of work. As a part of Daejeon stream ecological restoration project, this thesis is a case of executing demolition of Chung-Ang Department Store which was built 35 years ago as covered structure on the upper part of Daejeon stream with explosives demolition. This structure is 8 stories high, total height of 41.6 m including basement floor, $1,650m^2$ for building area and $18,351m^2$ for total floor area. It is located in the center of Daejeon city where shopping centers and buildings are crowded and main facilities are Daejeon subway (18m), backside shopping center (20m), underground shopping center(15m), Mokchuk bridge, Eunjung bridge(0.25m) and fiber-optic cable(0.25m). In this project, implosion was selected for explosives demolition methods by considering this area being a busy urban area, and this project was executed after examining collapse movement of structure in advance using simulation program not to damage main facilities. Total 80kg of explosives and 1,000 detonators were being used. This project will be a good case of executing explosives demolition successfully by applying implosion on urban area in the country.
