유적 천목의 유적 발생 구조 (Oil Spot Generative Formation of Oil Spot Denmoku)

  • The study was intended to investigate production tools and conditions of oil spot following calculating optimal composition of oil spot tenmoku glaze which can be produced at 1250$\sim$l260$^{\circ}C$. Since oil spot is influenced by the viscosity of glaze, viscosity of various glazes fit for oil spot production was determined by an SciGlass 6.0-based calculating method. Applied amount and calcinating conditions of the resulting substance of oil spot, $Fe_2O_3$, were analyzed. As a result, the viscosity of the glaze durable at 1260$^{\circ}C$ was found to range from 4.2 to 4.4, natural cooling was used after oxidizing calcinations at 1260$^{\circ}C$ for an hour, and the best oil spot tenmoku was produced by the natural cooling process after 1 h calcinations at 1150$^{\circ}C$ in the middle of natural cooling. Also, the study showed that thickness of glaze was found to have an effect on the production of oil spot and resulting oil spot was filled mostly with $Fe_2O_3$.

  • Colorado potato beetle is a most destructive insect pest of potato throughout the world. Although utilization of chemical insecticides is a main method for management of this pest, their negative side-effects such as threat to humans and the environmental pollution prompted researchers to search for natural alternatives. Recently plant essential oils with low or without side-effects against noun-targeted organisms and with high availability were considered as safe bio-pesticides. In the present study, toxicity of essential oil of Iranian lemongrass, Cymbopogon citratus Stapf, was evaluated against 3th instar larvae and adults of Colorado potato beetle by a leaf dipping method. Results displayed essential oil had notable toxicity against both larvae and adults after 24 and 48 h exposure times. Probit analysis revealed $LC_{50}$ values (lethal concentration to kill 50% of population) with 95% confidence limits were 10.32 (9.17 - 11.72) and 7.76 (6.80 - 8.74) ${\mu}l/ml$ for larvae and 6.27 (4.82 - 8.15) and 4.35 (3.24 - 5.62) ${\mu}l/ml$ for adults after 24 and 48 h, respectively. Based on regression analysis, a positive correlation between log concentration of essential oil and insect mortality was achieved. Results indicated C. citratus essential oil can be candidate as a natural alternative to the harmful chemical insecticides in the management of Colorado potato beetle.

해양오염제거용 천연분말상 유흉착재의 흡착 특성에 관한 연구 (Adsorption Characteristics of Natural Powdered Oil Absorbent for Marine Oil Pollution)

  • The amount of petroleum consumption has been Increased according to the industrialization and It leads to the increase of the possibility of marine oil pollution. In Korea, some countermeasures including oil skimmer, gelling agent and herding agent of oil have been used for the remediation of the pollution. However, most of them have lets of shortcomings in the application under in-situ condition, because they are sensitive to the situation such as geographical feature, the wind and the tide. In reported literature, the natural powdered oil absorbent which is made of peat moss is an effective mean to clean spilled oil from lake or coast. However, the peat moss is a natural resource which is only Produced from a specific cold weather are like Canada. This indicates that the alternative materials which is readily obtained from everywhere are needed for powdered oil absorbent. Therefore. in the study, same natural materials including pine leaves and straw are tested as the alternative materials for the absorbent. The raw materials were dried and treated by heat at various temperature during several Periods and then. shattered by a grain cracking machine. The oil sorption capacity of the prepared materials was compared according to the methods of heat treatment and their sizes. The proportion of hydrogen cyanide to combustion of the absorbents was measured to confirm their final disposal methods. The biodegradability test of the absorbents was carried our to evaluate possibility of a side pollution in the coast. In was found that the heat treatment of pine leaves enhanced the capacity of oil sorption and decreased the water sorption. The maximum oil sorption was observed for the material treated at 18$0^{\circ}C$for 60 min. The amount of hydrogen cyanide from the combustion were 0.09ml/g, 0.07ml/g for pine leaves and straw respectively meaning that the final disposal by combustion might be feasible. The amount or organic carbon extracted from pine leaves during 7 days was up to 0.015g organic carbon from one gram of pine leaves. but the degradation was as fast as for glucose. It is concluded that the pine leaves can be served as a good raw material for the powdered oil absorbent like peat moss.

  • This paper presents results of experimental investigations on natural ester regarding the breakdown strength. Aging of insulating material in a pole transformer has been studied by performing accelerated thermal aging test. Sealed aging test vessels containing copper, laminated core, Krapt paper and insulating oil(Natural oil and Mineral oil) were aged at $140^{\circ}C$ for 30days. Compared to the conventional transformer oil, electric property of the natural ester fluid is excellent.

  • In recently, studies concerned to the diesel engine uses a natural gas as a fuel oil whose infra has been built already was approached to PCCI or HCCI with keeping a high thermal efficiency and reducing NOx and PM have been researching actively in normally single cylinder. An ignition source is required to bum the natural gas by a spark plug in gasoline engines, due to a higher auto-ignition temperature of natural gas. Then gas oil and DME were introduced as the ignition source. In this study as basic data for practical use of natural gas PCCI and HCCI engines, combustion characteristics and emission characteristics on 4-cylinders natural gas PCCI and HCCI engines with gas oil and DME as ignition sources were analyzed and the engine load range that is main object for practical use of PCCI and HCCI engines was made clearly by empirical experiment.

The Antimicrobial Activity of Essential Oil from Dracocephalum foetidum against Pathogenic Microorganisms

  • A number of essential oils from Mongolian aromatic plants are claimed to have antimicrobial activities. The essential oil of Dracocephalum foetidum, a popular essential oil used in Mongolian traditional medicine, was examined for its antimicrobial activity. Eight human pathogenic microorganisms including B. subtilis, S. aureus, M. lutens, E. hirae, S. mutans, E. coli, C. albicans, and S. cerevisiae were examined. The essential oil of Dracocephalum foetidum exhibited strong antimicrobial activity against most of the pathogenic bacteria and yeast strains that were tested; by both the agar diffusion method and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assay ($MIC\;range\;was\;26-2592{\mu}g/ml$). Interestingly, Dracocephalum foetidum even showed antimicrobial activity against methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. We also analyzed the chemical composition of the oil by GC-MS and identified several major components, including n-Mentha-1,8-dien-10-al, limonene, geranial, and neral.

  • An oil-tolerant and salt-resistant aqueous foam system was screened out as a possible lubricant to enable cold heavy oil transportation. The microstructures and viscoelasticity and effects of heavy oil, salt and temperature on the foam stability were investigated and new rheological and drainage models were established. The results indicate the foam with multilayered shells belongs to a special microcellular foam. The viscoelasticity could be neglected due to its low relaxation time. The drainage process can be divided into three stages. The foam with quality of 67.9% maintains great stability at high oil and salt concentrations and appropriate elevated temperature.

  • 천연가스로부터 청정연료인 합성유를 제조하는 GTL기술은 1920년대 군수의 목적으로 독일의 Fisher와 Tropsch에 의해서 석탄으로부터 합성유를 제조하는 기술의 필요에 의해 처음으로 개발되었다. 이후, 1960년대 인종차별로 인한 정치적 고립으로 석유수급이 어려웠던 남아프리카공화국의 수송용 연료의 필요에 의해 Sasol사에서 본격적으로 FT(Fisher-Tropsch) 합성기술을 상용화하기 시작했다. 최근까지도 저렴한 석유자원으로 인해 GTL기술이 원유 정제기술로부터 얻어지는 석유제품에 비해 경제성을 확보하지 못하여 본격적인 상업화가 지연되어 왔으나, 에너지 자원의 수급 및 기타 경제적, 환경적 변화로 인해 GTL사업에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있으며 보유 석유자원이 한계에 다다라 상대적으로 풍부한 천연가스의 석유화를 목표로 하고 있는 카타르를 중심으로 GTL플랜트 건설이 추진되고 있다. 천연가스를 원료로 석유제품(디젤 및 나프타, 윤활기유 등)을 만드는 GTL기술은 크게 3가지 공정으로 구분되는데, 천연가스에서 수소와 일산화탄소를 제조하는 합성가스 제조공정(Synthesis Gas Generation), 합성가스를 FT합성반응에 의해 고분자 선형탄화수소로 전환시키는 FT합성공정(FT Synthesis)과 FT합성유로부터 석유제품을 만드는 개질공정(Product Upgrading)으로 구성된다. 생산된 제품은 유황 및 질소화합물 등을 적게 함유하고 있고, 정유플랜트 연료보다 방향족성분이 적어, 연소 시 인체에 해로운 물질을 적게 생산하는 청정연료이며, 천연가스를 저온 액화하는 LNG사업에 비하여 운송이 용이하고 안정성이 높다는 장점을 가지고 있다.

Studies on the constituents of philippine piper betle leaves

  • Fourteen volatile components including eight allypyrocatechol analogs were isolated and identified from the essential oil and ether soluble fraction of Philippine Piper bettle leaves (Piperaceae). The major constituents of Philippine Piper betle oil were chavibetol and chavibetol acetate. Capilary GC analysis of the oil showed chavibetol (53.1%), chavibetol acetate (15.5%), caryophyllene (3.79%), allypyrocatechol diacetate (0.71%), campene (0.48), chavibetol methylether (=methyl eugenol, 0.48%), eugenol (0/32%), $\alpha$-pinene(0.21%), $\beta$-pinene(0.21%), $\alpha$-limonene(0.14%), safrole (0.11%), 1.8-cineol(0.04%), and allylpyrocatechol monoacetate. The major component of the ether soluble fraction was allylpyrocatechol (2.38% of the leaves).

천연 솔잎추출물의 특성 및 분석 (Characteristics and Analysis of Natural Pine-Needles Extract)

  • We have extracted the natural pine-needles to use ethanol in solvent, and could obtain the refined oil component from pine-needles extract. We have tested the antimicrobial effect from microbe experiment and analyzed with ICP/OES, GC/MS. we could obtain the next conclusion from the result of this experiment. In the first result of this experiment we could know that in case of increasing concentration of pine-needles, the number of microbe decreased more and more. Also we could know that the refined oil component of pine-needles appeared the sterilization effect of S-aureus and E-coli after 96hrs and 120hrs. So we could know that the refined oil component of appeared effect to microbe. In the second result of this experiment we could know that inorganic materials of Ca, Mg, V, Mn etcs from pine-needles detected to ICP/OES analysis and the aromatic compounds from refined oil component of pine-needles was certificated to GC/MS analysis.
