  • This study aims at presenting the planning parameter of ski course by designing Gapyung ski course. This site is located at Hacheon-ri, Gapyung-gun, Kyunggi-do and has an area $1,594,001m^2$. Design objectives of Gapyung Ski Resort were to build the most suitable ski course on the site area and make a comparative ski resort. This design process covers the following : site inventory and analysis; integration of design program and terrain analysis; slope planning and trail balance; comparison with other ski resort. This ski resort was composed of 5 lifts and 10 ski trails which are divided into 2 intermediate course, 3 high intermediate course, 4 advanced course, and I expert course. Total length of slope distance is 8,738m. This ski resort will be developed for advanced skiers and snow boarders who enjoy a mogul and a half pipe course. Therefore, the strategy of this ski resort is marked for target market of high intermediate.

  • An embryonic stem cell is a powerful tool for investigation of early development in vitro. The study of embryonic stem cell mediated neuronal differentiation allows for improved understanding of the mechanisms involved in embryonic neuronal development. We investigated expression profile changes using time course cDNA microarray to identify clues for the signaling network of neuronal differentiation. For the short time course microarray data, pattern analysis based on the quadratic regression method is an effective approach for identification and classification of a variety of expressed genes that have biological relevance. We studied the expression patterns, at each of 5 stages, after neuronal induction at the mRNA level of embryonic stem cells using the quadratic regression method for pattern analysis. As a result, a total of 316 genes (3.1%) including 166 (1.7%) informative genes in 8 possible expression patterns were identified by pattern analysis. Among the selected genes associated with neurological system, all three genes showing linearly increasing pattern over time, and one gene showing decreasing pattern over time, were verified by RT-PCR. Therefore, an increase in gene expression over time, in a linear pattern, may be associated with embryonic development. The genes: Tcfap2c, Ttr, Wnt3a, Btg2 and Foxk1 detected by pattern analysis, and verified by RT-PCR simultaneously, may be candidate markers associated with the development of the nervous system. Our study shows that pattern analysis, using the quadratic regression method, is very useful for investigation of time course cDNA microarray data. The pattern analysis used in this study has biological significance for the study of embryonic stem cells.

  • The main goal of this research was to develop a Golf course planning Methodology in terms of use and preservation of natural resources which consider balance of Ecosystem. This study suggested the necessity of analysis of natural resources in the development site prior to its planning. The analysis will give a benefits both the profits of private enterprise and national interests for reuse of natural resources. Study site was planned region of Kyungpook Country Club, which located near Weagwan. In connection with this study, natural resources which will reuse in the planning stage and soil status in the development site were analyzed.

  • In the course of continous work for the discovery of anti-thrombotic constituents from tubers of Gastrodia elata, citric acid 1,5-dimethyl ester was isolated from ethylacetate soluble fraction prepared from the methanol extract. The structure of the compound was determined by the spectroscopic data. The anti-thrombotic effect of this compound was observed with prolonging the bleeding time in thrombin-induced thrombosis model of mice.

  • In the course of continous work on tubers of Gastrodia elata, a new constituent was isolated from the ethyl acetate soluble fraction prepared from the methanol extract. The structure of the compound was identified as ${\alpha},{\alpha}'-[bis-2-(5-carboxaldehydo)furanyl]-dimethyl$ ether from the elemental analytical and spectroscopic data. This compound was once isolated from Cirsium chlorolepis and named as cirsiumaldehyde. This is the first furan type compound isolated from Gastrodia elata.

  • By gettidg out from the existing class work with planning and execution in separate form of each class, and the research on each unit: it is suggested that the whole school system should be unified as oneunit through the proper restoration, and to aim the maximum effects of education, exalt thes pecialty of each teacher in the natural science course. Therefore: To select the text and material for the Element science carefully, secure the effectiveness of the study by each particulars of the text, and to establish the model for teaching properly arranged. Through the cooperative system of formational of teaching, to improve the basic knowledge of the course by deepening study objectives and separate teaching for each objects. Through the cooperative system, the main issues of the Elementary science course is solved, and by maintaining this method refine the speciality of teacher and rationalize he education operation.

  • The study purported to develop STS education course material at the university level in order to enhance science literacy and understanding of the relationships among science, technology and society. A developed STS course was provided to 265 freshmen and sophomore students, majoring in the Humanities and the Social Sciences, the Natural Sciences and Engineering, and Fine Arts. Students participated in the survey examining changes in students' attitudes toward and perspectives on STS before and after the implementation. Ten questionnaires were selected from VOSTS for the survey. One additional questionnaire asked the students to elaborate their opinions on the need for a STS education course. The responses to the survey were analyzed according to types of questions and students' majors. As result, the developed STS course significantly increased students' science literacy. Among the participants, 97.7% responded that there is a need for STS education and provided reasons for such need. These results imply that there is a definite need for a STS class at the university level. According to the analyses of responses, there were different responses depending on the students' major. These differences imply that the major, academic background, level of interest in science, and knowledge of science of the students affect their perceptions on identifying the need for a STS education course.
