  • The analysis of remote sensing data depends on sensor specifications that provide accurate and consistent measurements. However, it is not easy to establish confidence and consistency in data that are analyzed by different sensors using various radiometric scales. For this reason, the cross-calibration method is used to calibrate remote sensing data with reference image data. In this study, we used an airborne hyperspectral image in order to calibrate a multispectral image. We presented an automatic cross-calibration method to calibrate a multispectral image using hyperspectral data and spectral mixture analysis. The spectral characteristics of the multispectral image were adjusted by linear regression analysis. Optimal endmember sets between two images were estimated by spectral mixture analysis for the linear regression analysis, and bands of hyperspectral image were aggregated based on the spectral response function of the two images. The results were evaluated by comparing the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), the Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), and average percentage differences. The results of this study showed that the proposed method corrected the spectral information in the multispectral data by using hyperspectral data, and its performance was similar to the manual cross-calibration. The proposed method demonstrated the possibility of automatic cross-calibration based on spectral mixture analysis.

  • Although intensive experiments have been performed to investigate the origin of boundary image sticking, one of major factors to determine display quality in AC PDP, it has not being reported clearly why it is occurred. The relationships between boundary image sticking and its possible origins such as phosphor degradation, temporal change of MgO layer, wall charge have been discussed. In this paper, we have analyzed characteristics of the boundary image sticking more clearly by the influence of local panel temperature.

  • This study is to find the effectiveness of the invitational training in healthcare field of developing countries through grasping the change of the national image of Korea. To this end, we collected data on the satisfaction on the invitational training from 192 participants of short-term and long-term training programs conducted by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare(KOFIH). T-test, ANOVA analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the national image was enhanced after the invitational training. Second, satisfaction on contents of the training programs had a significant positive (+) effect on the national image. Third, English proficiency and nationality influenced national image significantly. According to this study, it was confirmed that the invitational training in healthcare was influential for enhancing the national image. To enhance the effectiveness of the invitational training, it is necessary to study the contents of the training program and the process of selecting the participants.

  • This study investigated how Korean drama viewing of chinese people influence their formation of Korea's national image as well as their satisfaction through consumption of Korean products. The direct effect and indirect effect of Korean drama viewing on Korea's national image were focused. The survey data on 105 Chinese citizens in Shanghai was put into the analysis. The study found that 1) Korean drama viewing has a positive effect on consumption satisfaction of korean products; 2) Korean drama viewing does not have any direct effect on Korea's national image; 3) the consumption satisfaction of korean products has an positive effect on Korea's national image; 4) Korean drama viewing has an indirect positive effect on Korea's national image, mediated by consumption satisfaction of Korean products. Theoretical and practical implication were discussed.

  • Purpose: This study proposes a new ball-type phantom for evaluation of the image layer of panoramic radiography. Materials and Methods: The arch shape of an acrylic resin phantom was derived from average data on the lower dental arch in Korean adult males. Metal balls with a 2-mm diameter were placed along the center line of the phantom at a 4-mm mesiodistal interval. Additional metal balls were placed along the 22 arch-shaped lines that ran parallel to the center line at 2-mm buccolingual intervals. The height of each ball in the horizontal plane was spaced by 2.5 mm, and consequently, the balls appeared oblique when viewed from the side. The resulting phantom was named the Panorama phantom. The distortion rate of the balls in the acquired image was measured by automatically calculating the difference between the vertical and horizontal length using $MATLAB^{(R)}$. Image layer boundaries were obtained by applying various distortion rate thresholds. Results: Most areas containing metal balls (91.5%) were included in the image layer with a 50% distortion rate threshold. When a 5% distortion rate threshold was applied, the image layer was formed with a small buccolingual width along the arch-shaped center line. However, it was medially located in the temporomandibular joint region. Conclusion: The Panorama phantom could be used to evaluate the image layer of panoramic radiography, including all mesiodistal areas with large buccolingual width.

  • This research describes a image-processing technique for the scratch detecting algorithm for ITO coated glass. We use the modified logical thresholding method for binarization of gray-scale glass image. This method is useful to the algorithm for detecting the scratch of ITO coated glass automatically without need of any prior information of manual fine-tuning of parameters.

  • In recent years, 2D-to-3D conversion techniques have gained much attraction. Most of conventional methods focused on natural images such as movie, animation and so forth. However, it is difficult to apply these techniques to window images mixed with text, image, logo, and icon. Also, different depth values of text pixels will cause distortion and a proper 3D image can not be delivered in some situations. To solve this problem, we propose a method to classify a given image into either a window or a natural image. For the window image, only rectangular image regions (RIR) are detected and converted in 3D. Other text and background are displayed in 2D. The proposed method was performed on more than 10,000 test images. In the experimental results, the detection ratio of window image reaches 97% and RIR detection ratio is 87%.

  • A Q-band pHEMT image-rejection low-noise amplifier (IR-LNA) is presented using inter-stage tunable resonators. The inter-stage L-C resonators can maximize an image rejection by functioning as inter-stage matching circuits at an operating frequency ($F_{OP}$) and short circuits at an image frequency ($F_{IM}$). In addition, it also brings more wideband image rejection than conventional notch filters. Moreover, tunable varactors in L-C resonators not only compensate for the mismatch of an image frequency induced by the process variation or model error but can also change the image frequency according to a required RF frequency. The implemented pHEMT IR-LNA shows 54.3 dB maximum image rejection ratio (IRR). By changing the varactor bias, the image frequency shifts from 27 GHz to 37 GHz with over 40 dB IRR, a 19.1 dB to 17.6 dB peak gain, and 3.2 dB to 4.3 dB noise figure. To the best of the authors' knowledge, it shows the highest IRR and $F_{IM}/F_{OP}$ of the reported millimeter/quasi-millimeter wave IR-LNAs.

  • This study examines black images as 'the other' in history and aims to analyze images of black female fashion models which have been changed in modern society, particularly in $21^{st}$ century post-modern world. Black images, established historically as illustrated on the paintings in $19^{th}$ century, were disseminated in $20^{th}$ century throughout the world especially by way of TV and movies as several typical images such as 'Coon' the clown as the object of entertainment, 'Buck' wild and resistant black rascal, and 'Mammy' obedient and fat black woman servant. The result of image analysis of black female fashion models, can be summarized as following five images. The first is the image of 'powerful'. Black female models frequently represent healthy image which reflects black people's excellence in sports and also the traditional Image of black skin color as strength. The second is the image of 'sexy'. They are adored as having perfect ideal body shape. They show off their sex appeal with their body. The third image is 'multicultural'. Black models represent cultures besides the western. The fourth is the image of 'fantastic'. In contrast to the real, resonable things, black female models represent wild, fancy, ghost things. The fifth is the image of 'racial discrimination' By arranging them in contrast to whites, a metaphoric image of racial discrimination can be displayed. The result shows that tome of racial images still remain on the other way.
