  • This article is a reexamination of the feminist criminal narrative I wish for what is forbidden by Yang Gui-ja in the context of the rise of the women's movement and consumer culture of the middle class in Gangnam in the 1980s and 1990s. At this time, the explosive media culture served to strengthen the ideology that placed the middle-class family at the center as well as the consumption culture. The combination of consumer media culture, women's movement and democratization created a soft and domestic male image while visualizing the material foundation of the middle class in the 1990s of South Korea. In this novel, the domestic male image transforms the feminist criminal narrative into the narrative of the femme fatale attacking the stability and dignity of the middle class family, and at the moment of the transformation, the feminist woman Kang Min-ju is killed by a lower class man who has admired and loved her. This novel is not only current but also signifying as a text that overlaps sociocultural reproduction and feminist issues of the middle class based on Gangnam in the 1990s. This is because it shows the sociocultural context of femicide, such as serial murder of targeting women, as a core code of criminal narrative to be held in Korea since the late 1990s.

  • Korean dramas since the 2000s are continuously experimenting with new narrative possibilities. Especially in the recent Korean drama, various modes of hybridization, mixing, and transformation are attempted. Therefore, this study aims to examine the consensus of literature and drama through popular drama in 2010. This study examines how literary texts are utilized in dramas through the use of Kim Eun-sook's lonely and glorious god-goblin and gentleman's dignity, and how these narrative and visual effects are gained. These two dramas are not only popular drama in Korea but also have important implications for interpreting literature and drama consciousness because they actively utilize literary texts in drama. This is the process of interpreting the main scene in which literature and the drama conspire, and grasping its significance. Through this study, we analyze the process of borrowing the part of the text of the text, drama, and taking the effect of storytelling by using 'book' as its materiality. This will confirm the way in which various genres are mixed and juxtaposed in one video text and its effects.

  • As the introductory content of televison series, the opening titles are crucial for helping the audience quickly grasp the tone of the narrative. With the continuous integration of the televison production industry and digital computer technology, motion graphics, featuring its unique dynamic graphic design, offers new avenues for title sequence creation. This paper dives into the application of motion graphics in the title sequences of noir genre television series, analyzing aspects such as visual style, content presentation, and narrative expression. By comparing early static text title sequences with motion graphics ones, this paper reveals the advantages of motion graphics in designing opening titles for noir genre television series and examines how it enhances visual impact and improves audience experience. This study not only enriches the creative techniques for title sequence design, but also provides valuable insights for future creations.

  • Recognizing spatial information associated with events expressed in natural language text is essential not only for the interpretation of such events and but also for the understanding of the relations among them. However, spatial information is rarely mentioned as compared to events and the association between event and spatial expressions is also highly implicit in a text. This would make it difficult to automate the extraction of spatial information associated with events from the text. In this paper, we give a linguistic analysis of how spatial expressions are associated with event expressions in a text. We first present issues in annotating narrative texts with reference relations between event and spatial expressions, and then discuss surface-level linguistic characteristics of such relations based on the annotated corpus to give a helpful insight into developing an automated recognition method.

  • Film is a visual art. A process of film totally depends on our sense of sight. It indicates that a way of delivering narrative in the film is "showing", not "telling". There has already been established theories about "who sees" and "who tells" in narratology. It explains who the narrator is and how the narrator delivers in literary works which is represented in terms of "Point-of View". Therefore the study contents construct internal formal elements of the narrator and point of view into 2 individual researches, and the result can be summed up as below. From a narratological perspective, the narrator has roles and deeds as a narrative mediator who mediates the story and leads the story as presenting the origin with images and voices in the text extra and intra world through the process of producing the narrative inferred. To eliminate ambiguousness the term 'point-of view', this article applies 'focalization' theory to analyze narrative structure of film. The result of analysis shows that there are three focalizers in film; director, protagonist-character and camera. And aspects of film can be varied by distance of each focalizer. These distances between focalizers limit amount of visual information.

  • The aim of this article was to review age-dependent clinical recommendations for appropriate root canal instrumentation techniques. A comprehensive narrative review of canal morphology, the structural characteristics of dentin, and endodontic outcomes at different ages was undertaken instead of a systematic review. An electronic literature search was carried out, including the Medline (Ovid), PubMed, and Web of Science databases. The searches used controlled vocabulary and free-text terms, as follows: 'age-related root canal treatment,' 'age-related instrumentation,' 'age-related chemo-mechanical preparation,' 'age-related endodontic clinical recommendations,' 'root canal instrumentation at different ages,' 'geriatric root canal treatment,' and 'pediatric root canal treatment.' Due to the lack of literature with practical age-based clinical recommendations for an appropriate root canal instrumentation technique, a narrative review was conducted to suggest a clinical algorithm for choosing the most appropriate instrumentation technique during root canal treatment. Based on the evidence found through the narrative review, an age-related clinical algorithm for choosing appropriate instrumentation during root canal treatment was proposed. Age affects the morphology of the root canal system and the structural characteristics of dentin. The clinician's awareness of root canal morphology and dentin characteristics can influence the choice of instruments for root canal treatment.

  • The film House of Hummingbird intersects Korean modern history and personal history through the eyes of a teenage girl, and closely explores how patriarchy and Korean capitalism leave traces and internal impressions on the growing up of the female subject. This film is a meaningful text in terms of showing what changes can occur when the subject is transformed from a boy to a girl in the narrative of growth and when a feminist point of view is entered. House of Hummingbird reveals the weakness of the patriarchal symbolic order through the gaze of a teenage girl in the episodic narrative composition, and also discovers the possibility of close relationships and bonds between women in the gaps. In particular, Yeong-ji, the main character girl Eun-hee's Chinese language school lecturer, is a new female character that has never been seen in Korean teenage films. As a result, in House of Hummingbird, we meet a new female subject who negotiates the pain of growth in a 'good enough' condition.

  • There are significant changes are in education field: the paradigm shift from teacher-centered and text-oriented learning to learner-centered and multimedia-oriented learning. Many researchers have proposed that the e-learning contents is one of the most important factors on e-learning performance. This study analyzes the effect of types of test information on learning performance in e-learning contents. The results show that the interaction effect between types and gender influences the comprehension of learning; the female prefers to the feedback and narrative type but the male prefer to the narrative type. The narrative type showed the highest score on the comprehension and satisfaction of learning among three different types. Also, the main effect of gender difference had no effect on e-learning performance.

  • This thesis examines the difficulties of utilizing the narrative and music of Pansori: 판소리 in Changguk: 창극. For this examination, I consider that the reason for the difficulty of making Changguk is the difference between Pansori and Changguk as the genres. Most of the Changguk based on the traditional five Pansori works perform the narration and songs of Pansori literally. However, the original narrative of Pansori has a distinctive dual structure since the formation of its first and second half is created separately. As the drama genre visualizes the story and emphasizes the consistency of action, unlike Pansori, the duality of the original narrative can be seen as the inconsistency of the action. In addition, since the sounds of the original Pansori are rather explanatory than dramatic even in the climax scenes of Jeokbyeok battlefields, it is difficult to produce dramatic scenes in Changguk. The voices of the military, not in the original works, play important roles in revealing the hidden theme effectively in Changguk. However It is impossible to relocate the original text of Pansori into Changguk, as even the voices of the military lack verisimilitude in terms of narrative. Changguk can only be developed as its own work by actively researching and dismantling Pansori .
