This paper investigates the vibration behavior of pristine and defected triangular graphene sheets; which has recently attracted the attention of researchers and compare these two types in natural frequencies and sensitivity. Here, the molecular dynamics method has been employed to establish a virtual laboratory for this purpose. After measuring the different parameters obtained by the molecular dynamics approach, these data have been analyzed by using the frequency domain decomposition (FDD) method, and the dominant frequencies and mode shapes of the system have been extracted. By analyzing the vibration behaviors of pristine triangular graphene sheets in four cases (right angle of 45-90-45 configuration, right angle of 60-90-30 configuration, equilateral triangle and isosceles triangle), it has been demonstrated that the natural frequencies of these sheets are higher than the natural frequency of a square sheet, with the same number of atoms, by a minimum of 7.6% and maximum of 26.6%. Therefore, for increasing the resonance range of sensors based on 2D materials, nonrectangular structures, and especially the triangular structure, can be considered as viable candidates. Although the pristine and defective equilateral triangular sheets have the highest values of resonance, the sensitivity of defective (45,90,45) triangular sheet is more than other configurations and then, defective (45,90,45) sheet is the worst choice for sensor applications.

In present article, utilizing the Love shell theory with volume fraction laws for the cylindrical shells vibrations provides a governing equation for the distribution of material composition of material. Isotopic materials are the constituents of these rings. The position of a ring support has been taken along the radial direction. The Rayleigh-Ritz method with three different fraction laws gives birth to the shell frequency equation. Moreover, the effect of height- and length-to-radius ratio and angular speed is investigated. The results are depicted for circumferential wave number, length- and height-radius ratios with three laws. It is found that the backward and forward frequencies of exponential fraction law are sandwich between polynomial and trigonometric laws. It is examined that the backward and forward frequencies increase and decrease on increasing the ratio of height- and length-to-radius ratio. As the position of ring is enhanced for clamped simply supported and simply supported-simply supported boundary conditions, the frequencies go up. At mid-point, all the frequencies are higher and after that the frequencies decreases. The frequencies are same at initial and final stage and rust itself a bell shape. The shell is stabilized by ring supports to increase the stiffness and strength. Comparison is made for non-rotating and rotating cylindrical shell for the efficiency of the model. The results generated by computer software MATLAB.
When carbon dioxide in a liquid becomes supersaturated, carbon dioxide gas bubbles are generated in the liquid, and they ascend to the surface as they develop further. At this time, the inner wall of the cup with carbon gas attached is known as the entrapped gas cavity (EGS); once an EGS is established, it does not disappear and will continuously create carbon bubbles. This bubbling phenomenon can be activated or suppressed by changing the properties of the solid surface in contact with the carbonated liquid. In this study, the foaming of carbonated liquid is promoted or suppressed by modifying the wettability of the surface. A micro/nano surface structure is formed on the surface of an aluminum cup to produce a superhydrophilic surface, and a superhydrophobic surface similar to a lotus leaf is synthesized via fluorination. Experiment results show that the amount of carbon dioxide bubble generated differs significantly in the first few seconds depending on the surface, and that the amount of gas generated after it enters the stabilization period is the same regardless of the wettability of the cup surface.
In this study, we propose a biomimetic optical structure design methodology for investigating micro-optical mechanisms associated with the compound eyes of insects. With these compound eyes, insects can respond fast while maintaining a wide field of view. Also, considerable research attention has been focused on the insect compound eyes to utilize these benefits. However, their nano micro-structures are complex and challenging to demonstrate in real applications. An effectively integrated design methodology is required considering the manufacturing difficulty. We show that photorealistic ray-traced visualization is an effective method for designing the biomimetic of a micro-compound eye of an insect. We analyze the image formation mechanism and create a three-dimensional computer-aided design model. Then, a ray-trace visualization is applied to observe the optical image formation. Finally, the segmented images are stitched together to generate an image with a wide-angle; the image is assessed for quality. The high structural similarity index (SSIM) value (approximately 0.84 to 0.89) of the stitched image proves that the proposed MATLAB-based image stitching algorithm performs effectively and comparably to the commercial software. The results may be employed for the understanding, researching, and design of advanced optical systems based on biological eyes and for other industrial applications.
We investigated the electronic property and atomic structure for chalcopyrite (CH) AlxGa1-xAs semiconductor by using first-principles FPLMTO method. The CH-AlxGa1-xAs exhibits a p-type semiconductor with a direct band-gap. For low Al concentration unoccupied hole-carriers are induced, but for high Al concentration it is formed a localized bonding or anti-bonding state below Fermi level. The hybridization of Al(3s)-Ga(4s, or 4p) is larger than that of Al(3s)-As(4s, or 4p). And the Al film on As-terminated surface, Al/AsGa(001), is more energetically favorable one than that on Ga-terminated (001) surface. Consequently, the band-gap of CH-AlxGa1-xAs system increases exponentially with increasing Al concentration. The change of lattice parameter is shown two different configurations with increasing Al concentration. The calculated lattice parameters for CH-AlxGa1-xAs system are compared to the experimental ones of zinc-blend GaAs and AlAs.
Immersed boundary-Lattice Boltzmann Method (IB-LBM) is used for the analysis of flow over the circular cylinder in the concept of fluid-structure interaction analysis (FSI). Recently, IB-LBM has shown the enormous possibility for the application of various biomedical engineering fields, such as the movement of a human body or the behavior of the blood cells and/or particle-based drug delivery system in blood vessels. In order for the numerical analysis of the interaction between fluid and solid object, immersed boundary method and lattice Boltzmann method are coupled to analyze the flow over a cylinder for low Reynolds laminar flow (Re=10, 20, 40 and 100) with Zhu-He boundary condition at the boundary. With the developed IB-LBM, the flow around the cylinder in the uniform flow is analyzed for the laminar flow and the drag and lift coefficients and recirculation length are compared to the previous results.
The continued environmental pollution caused by fossil fuel consumption has prompted researchers around the world to develop environmentally friendly energy technologies. Electrochemical energy storage is the significant area of research in this development process, and the research significance of supercapacitors in this field is increasing. Herein, a simple electrodeposition synthetic route was explored to develop the MoP layered cathode material. The layered structure provided a highly ion-accessible surface for smooth and faster ion adsorption/desorption. After Fe was doped into MoP, the morphology of MoP changes and the electrochemical performance was significantly improved. Specific capacitance value of the binder-free FeMoP electrode was found to be 269 F g-1 at 2 A g-1 current density in 6 M aqueous KOH electrolyte. After adding Fe to MoP, an additional redox contribution was observed in the redox conversion from Fe3+ to Fe2+ redox pair, and the charge transfer kinetics of MoP was effectively improved. This research can provide guidance for the development of supercapacitor electrode materials through simple electrodeposition technology.

In the last ten years, many researchers have studied the vibrations of carbon nanotubes using different beam theories. The nano- and micro-scale systems have wavy shape and there is a demand for a powerful tool to mathematically model waviness of those systems. In accordance with the above mentioned lack for the modeling of the waviness of the curved tiny structure, a novel approach is employed by implementing the Timoshenko-beam model. Owing to the small size of the micro beam, these structures are very appropriate for designing small instruments. The vibrations of double walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) are developed using the Timoshenko-beam model in conjunction with the wave propagation approach under support conditions to calculate the fundamental frequencies of DWCNTs. The frequency influence is observed with different parameters. Vibrations of the double walled carbon nanotubes are investigated in order to find their vibrational modes with frequencies. The aspect ratios and half axial wave mode with small length are investigated. It is calculated that these frequencies and ratios are dependent upon the length scale and aspect ratio.
Nickel substituted cobalt-zinc ferrite nanoparticles with composition Co0.5Zn0.5NixFe2-xO4 (x = 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0) were synthesized using a wet chemical method named citrate precursor method. Various characterizations of the prepared nanoferrites were done using X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV visible spectroscopy and Fourier transform spectroscopy technique (FT-IR). XRD confirmed the formation of cubic spinel structure of the samples with single phase having one characteristic peak at (311). The value of optical band gap (Eg) was found to decrease with Ni substitution and have values in the range 2.30eV to 1.69eV. A Fenton-type system was created by photocatalytic activity using source of visible light for removal of methylene blue dye. Observations revealed increase in the degradation of methylene blue dye with increasing nickel content in the samples. The degradation percentage was increased from 77.32% for x = 0.25 to 90.16% for x = 1.0 in one hour under the irradiation of visible light. Also, the degradation process was found to have pseudo first order kinetics model. Hence, it can be observed that synthesized nickel doped cobalt-zinc ferrites have good capability for water purification and its degradation efficiency enhanced with increase in nickel concentration.
The critical buckling temperature rise of a newly proposed piezoelectrically active sandwich plate (ASP) has been investigated in this work. This structure includes a porous polymeric layer integrated between two piezoelectric nanocomposite layers. The piezoelectric material is made of a passive polymeric material that is activated by lead-free nanowires (NWs) of zinc oxide (ZnO) embedded inside the matrix. In both nanocomposite layers and porous core, functional graded (FG) patterns have been considered for the distributions of ZnO NWs and voids, respectively. By adopting a higher-order theory of plates, the governing equations of thermal buckling are obtained. This set of equations is then treated using an extended mesh-free solution. The effects of plate dimensions, porosity states, and the nanowire parameters have been investigated on the critical buckling temperature rises of the proposed lightweight ASPs with different boundary conditions. The results disclose that the use of porosities in the core and/or mixing ZnO NWs in the face sheets substantially arise the critical buckling temperatures of the newly proposed active sandwich plates.
