  • Considering the role of roads in cities and the purpose of the Road Name Address Act, it is natural that the road name of the address is registered as the nearest road section adjacent to the building. Therefore, the Enforcement Decree of the Road Name Address Act also stipulates that mayor assign building numbers based on the basic numbers of road sections adjacent to the main entrances of buildings. However, there were cases where addresses are given from distant roads rather than adjacent roads among the actual road name addresses. Most of them are caused by misinterpretation of the case where the entrance faces more than one road. In this study, institutional and systematic improvement plans were proposed with the aim of enabling accurate selection of address information reference objects by demonstrating the limitations of the current building numbering method and presenting institutional improvement plans. Road name addresses were implemented for the core purpose of improving the inconvenience of locating the lot number address. Although some still complained of the inconvenience of road name addresses, successful settlement was possible because of the intuitive principle that most countries around the world could use it and find buildings along the road. Therefore, the system and system improvement should be made quickly in terms of accurate address information quality management and revitalization of related industries.

  • As more generic drugs become available, the quality, safety, and efficacy of generic drugs have become a public concern. Specifically, drug interchangeability among generic copies of the same brand-name drug is a safety concern. This research proposes a Bayesian method for assessing bioequivalence between two generic copies of the same brand-name drug from two independent $2{\times}2$ crossover design experiments. Uninformative priors are considered for general use and the posterior distribution of the difference of two generic drug effects is derived from which the highest probability density interval can be evaluated. Examples are presented for illustration.

  • Enedrias fangi, which was not yet recorded in Korean fishes fauna, is revealed in Korean coastal waters during the present research period. The external morphology of this species is compared with that of E. nebulosus ('bedorachi' in Korean name). Taking into consideration the morphological differences between two species and the Korean name of S. nebulosus, 'bedorachi', the authors propose 'heenbedorachi' meaning white gunnel as Korean name of this unrecorded species.

  • The Korean stichaeid fish "Min-be-do-ra-chi", reported previously as Zoarchias glaber, is reviewed taxonomically and described on the basis of a single specimen collected from Jeju Island, Korea. "Min-be-do-ra-chi" was identified as Z. major by the following morphological characteristics: U-shaped markings on the dorsal and anal fins, 31 dorsal fin spines, 78 dorsal fin soft rays, 87 anal fin soft rays, and 109 vertebrae. In contrast, Z. glaber has triangular markings on the dorsal and anal fins, 92-96 anal fin soft rays, and 112-122 vertebrae. Therefore, our results suggest that the scientific name of this species reported previously as Z. glaber should be changed to Z. major.

  • Gleditsia sinensis Lam. (Leguminosae) is a perennial shrub distributed in Gyeongju in Korea and throughout China. Its thorns called "Jo Gak Ja" (Korean name) or "Zao Jia Ye (Chinese name) have been known to possess an antiinflammatory effect. Korean "Jo Gak Ja". a speciality of Gyeongju. is much longer and thicker than that of Chinese one. (omitted)

  • Costularia Ju. Petrov et I. Gussarova, published in 1970, is a preoccupied name by Clarke, 1898 for a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants in the family Cyperaceae (Magnoliophyta) and thus illegitimate. Costulariella nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement. The distribution and morphology of this little-known species are discussed.

  • Many fish species are imported into Korea from various countries. However, in the case of some fish species, there are many that do not have Korean names. Species similar in morphology to domestically produced aquatic products are often disguised as being domestically produced and distributed. Therefore, this study presents a species list for 1,032 fish imported into Korea. Fish species that have not been given Korean names have been given a Korean name using a scientific method to prevent confusion during seafood distribution. Standards for naming stingrays, skates, and mackerel, which are often confused when a country name is being assigned are presented.

  • All academic information on the web or elsewhere has its creator, that is, a subject who has created the information. The subject can be an individual, a group, or an institution, and can be a nation depending on the nature of the relevant information. Most information is composed of a title, an author, and contents. An essay which is under the academic information category has metadata including a title, an author, keyword, abstract, data about publication, place of publication, ISSN, and the like. A patent has metadata including the title, an applicant, an inventor, an attorney, IPC, number of application, and claims of the invention. Most web-based academic information services enable users to search the information by processing the meta-information. An important element is to search information by using the author field which corresponds to a personal name. This study suggests a method of efficient indexing and using the adjacent operation result ranking algorithm to which phrase search-based boosting elements are applied, and thus improving the accuracy of the search results of personal names. It also describes a method for providing the results of searching co-authors and related researchers in searching personal names. This method can be effectively applied to providing accurate and additional search results in the academic information services.

  • In this paper, we propose solutions to resolve the problem of many spelling variants and the problem of lack of annotated corpus for training, which are two among the main difficulties in named entity recognition in biomedical domain. To resolve the problem of spotting valiants, we propose a use of edit-distance as a feature for SVM. And we propose a use of virtual examples to automatically expand the annotated corpus to resolve the lack-of-corpus problem. Using virtual examples, the annotated corpus can be extended in a fast, efficient and easy way. The experimental results show that the introduction of edit-distance produces some improvements in protein name recognition performance. And the model, which is trained with the corpus expanded by virtual examples, outperforms the model trained with the original corpus. According to the proposed methods, we finally achieve the performance 75.80 in F-measure(71.89% in precision,80.15% in recall) in the experiment of protein name recognition on GENIA corpus (ver.3.0).

  • The objective of the study was to compare the curricular in fashion field between Korean and American universities. Initially, curricular data of Korean universities were collected through the internet, telephone calls and e-mails from March to May, 2006. The data was then modified in August, 2009. Data from American universities were only collected through the internet from January to March, 2009. The name of the department, total credits opened, credits opened for each area and so on, were analyzed using descriptive statistics. There were 20 national universities and 61 private universities with fashion related departments in Korea, while 87 public universities and 21 private universities in the USA. The name of'Fashion Design' in the departments was prevalent in 40 universities in Korea. On the contrary,'Fashion Marketing' was the most dominant name in 31 universities in the USA. Ninety percent of the universities in Korea opened over eighty to ninety total credits, but 83% of American universities opened under eighty to ninety total credits. Most universities in Korea opened many credits for construction, design/ aesthetics, marketing and textile areas more than those in the USA.
