Suppose { $X_{n}$}$_{n=1}$$^{\infty}$ sequence of finite dimensional Banach spaces and suppose that X is either a closed subspace of (equation omitted) or a closed subspace of (equation omitted) with p>2. We show that every bounded linear operator from X to a Banach space Y of cotype q(2$\leq$q〈p) is compact.t.t.

The following classical Oka-Weil approximation theorem on pseudoconvex domains in $C^n$ is well-known. Suppose that $M \subseteq C^n$ is pseudoconvex and that K is a compact subset of M with K = K, where K is the usual holomorphic hull of K in M. Then any function holomorphic in a neighborhood of K can be approximated uniformly on K by functions holomorphic on M (see [5], [6]).

Let W be a parallelizable compact oriented manifold of dimension $n$ with boundary ${\partial}W=M$. We define the so-called Gauss map $f:M{\rightarrow}S^{n-1}$ using a framing of TW and show that the degree of $f$ is equal to Euler-Poincar$\acute{e}$ number ${\chi}(W)$, regardless of the specific framing. As a special case, we get a Hopf theorem.

On a compact oriented n-dimensional manifold $(M^n,\;g)$, it has been conjectured that a metric g satisfying the critical point equation (2) should be Einstein. In this paper, we prove that if a manifold $(M^4,\;g)$ is a 4-dimensional oriented compact warped product, then g can not be a solution of CPE with a non-zero solution function f.

Symmetric interpolating refinable function vectors with compact support are of interest in several applications such as signal processing, image processing and computer graphics. It is known in [13] that orthogonal interpolating refinable function vectors can not be symmetric for multiplicity r = 2 and dilation d = 2. In this paper, we shall investigate symmetric interpolating refinable function vectors with compact support for multiplicity r = 2 and dilation d = 2 by omitting orthogonality. To illustrate our theorems and results in this paper, we shall also present some examples of symmetric interpolating refinable function vectors with compact support and high order of sum rules.

In the paper, we study an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold (M, g) with the property that the lengthes of the images $c({\mathbb{R}})$ in M of any geodesic curves $c({\mathbb{R}}){\mapsto}M$ are finite.

This paper suggests a new coding method for the parallel machine which compresses the data be reducing redundancy. Paral-lel Dynamic octal Compact Mapping (PDOCM) compresses at least 1 byte per word compared with other coding techniques and achieves a 54. 188-fold speedup with 64 processors to transmit 10 million charac-ters.
