  • V-groove N+P solar cell is fabricated by thermal diffusion in silicon wafer with (100) crystal structure. To form the V-grooves in (100) silicon surface, a mixture of etylen-diamine, water, pyrocathecol is used as the etchant of anisotropic etching. Under light intensity of 100mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$, the efficiency of the V-groove solar cell is 2.5-3.5% greater than the conventional N+P solar cell and 0.4-0.6% greater than the texturized one.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dietary linseed oil and canola oil on the deposition n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid in pork. Twelve pigs weighing 50 kg were offered one of four diets based on corn and soybean meal and containing tallow, linseed oil, canola oil or mixed oil (linseed oil plus canola oil). The pigs were slaughtered at approximately 110 kg of their market live weight. Linseed oil, canola oil or mixed oil did not affect any of the three indicators of growth performance-body weight gain, feed intake and feed efficiency. Saturated fatty acid content of plasma was the highest in tallow oil group, while the plasma proportion of saturated fatty acid was lowered in linseed oil, canola oil and mixed oil group from 11.84% to 16.54% than tallow group (p<0.05). The plasma n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid was not detected at all in the tallow-fed pigs, while the plasma proportion of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid were higher in linseed oil, canola oil and mixed oil from 4.68% to 12.83% than tallow group (p<0.05). All three lipid supplements containing n-3 poly-unsaturated fatty acid increased the content of pork belly $\alpha$-linolenic acid (18:3n-3) by 9.43% relative to the tallow values (p<0.05). Feeding linseed oil or canola oil increased the n-3 : n-6 ratio in pork belly to 0.68, and increased the polyunsaturated fatty acid : saturated fatty acid ratio to 0.70 (p<0.05). This result showed that feeding linseed oil and canola oil can produce novel functional pork enriched in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid.

  • We study a subclass of p-ary functions in n variables, denoted by ${\mathcal{A}}_n$, which is a collection of p-ary functions in n variables satisfying a certain condition on the exponents of its monomial terms. Firstly, we completely classify all p-ary (n - 1)-plateaued functions in n variables by proving that every (n - 1)-plateaued function should be contained in ${\mathcal{A}}_n$. Secondly, we prove that if f is a p-ary r-plateaued function contained in ${\mathcal{A}}_n$ with deg f > $1+{\frac{n-r}{4}}(p-1)$, then the highest degree term of f is only a single term. Furthermore, we prove that there is no p-ary r-plateaued function in ${\mathcal{A}}_n$ with maximum degree $(p-1){\frac{n-4}{2}}+1$. As application, we partially classify all (n - 2)-plateaued functions in ${\mathcal{A}}_n$ when p = 3, 5, and 7, and p-ary bent functions in ${\mathcal{A}}_2$ are completely classified for the cases p = 3 and 5.

  • An investigation was conducted to determine limiting nutrients in the bay systems of the southern coastal area of Korea. The elemental composition of C, N, and P in suspended particulate matter was monitored nearly monthly in Chinhae and Koje Bays and seasonally in Deukryang Bay for 2 years. Atomic C:N ratio in particulate matter ranges from 4.3 to 9.6, typical of marine phytoplankton. C:P and N:P ratios vary from the Redfield ratio to 229 (C:P) and 37 (N:P). A constant C:N ratio of 6.87 from regression of particulate C and N concentrations demonstrates that the particulate matter in the systems originates from primary production. C:P and N:P ratios from regression of C on P and N on P are well associated with changes in salinity. The low N:P ratio of 13.1 implies N limitation in the environments of the systems. This seems to result from the low N:P ratio of nutrients released across sediment-water interface. Phytoplankton response, expressed here as the increase of chlorophyll a, to N addition also verifies N limitation for phytoplankton communities. In heavy rainfall season (from June to September), the addition of excessive N via streams into the stratified coastal water proliferates phytoplankton greatly. During the phytoplankton blooms, C:P and N:P ratios are much higher than the Redfield ratio, implying P limitation. This results from the high N:P ratio in nutrients supplied from stream waters. Strong stratification during the blooms also interrupts the supply of nutrients, particularly p, from bottom waters. Dependent upon precipitation, this tendency shows great inter-annual variation.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary lipid sources on survival, growth anc body composition of snail (Semisu1cospira gottschei). Three replicate groups of snail (average weighing 152mg) were fed the diets containing different lipid sources such as lauric acid (LA), squid liver oil (SO), linseed oil (LO), corn oil (CO), SO+ LO, SO+CO, LO+CO and SO+LO+CO for 8 weeks. Survival was not affected by dietary lipid sources (p>0.05). Weight gain of snail fed the SO, SO+LO and SO+LO+CO diets was significantly higher than that of snail fed the LA and LO diets (P<0.05), and the lowest weight gain was observed in snail fed the LA diet (P<0.05). No significant difference was found in crude lipid content of edible portion in snail fed the different diets (P>0.005). Contents of 12:0, 18:2n6, 18:3n-3 and 20:5n-3 from snail fed the LA, CO, LO and SO diets were higher than those from snail fed the other diets, respectively (p<0.05). The highest 22:6n-3 content was observed in snail fed the SO+ LO but was not significantly different from that of snail fed the SO, SO+CO and SO+LO+CO diets (p>0.05). The n-6 highly unsaturated fatty acids such as 20:4n-6 and 22:4n-6 contents of snail were not affected by dietary lipid sources (p>0.05). These results suggested that squid liver oil and mixture of squid liver oil and linseed and/or corn oil are good dietary lipid sources for the normal growth of snail. However lauric acid may not be a good lipid source for snail diet.

  • P+N and P+NN+ solar cells with the area of 3.36 $\textrm{cm}^2$ were fabricated by thermal diffusion. Under the light intensity of 100 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$, total area(active area) conversion efficiency was 13.4%(14.7%) for P+N cell fabricated by 15 min boron predeposition at 94$0^{\circ}C$ and 20 min annealing at 80$0^{\circ}C$, and 14.3%(15.6%) for P+NN+ cell processed by 15 min boron predeposition at 94$0^{\circ}C$ and 50 min annealing at 80$0^{\circ}C$ after 20 min back phosphorus diffusion at 1,05$0^{\circ}C$. The minority carrier lifetime in bulk of P+NN+ cells was increased about 2~3 times comparing with P+N cells because of guttering and BSF effect due to back phosphorus doping. The methods used for efficiency improvement were AR coating, Ag electroplating, back doping and fine grid pattern as well as the control of front doping profile.

  • A sewage was treated using a vertical flow zeolite-filled reed bed. The sewage from the student dormitory of Changwon National University was fed into the reed bed for 10 minutes every 6 hours at the hydraulic load of $314L/m^3{\cdot}$day. The filtering height of the reed bed was 100 em and the zeolite mixture was filled in the reed bed. The mixture consisted of the same volume of two types of zeolite: 0.5$\sim$1 mm and 1$\sim$3 mm in diameter. Annual average removal efficiency was 88 89.9%, $COD_{Cr}$ 86.1 %, $COD_{Mn}$ 81.2%, T-N 34.0%, $NH_4^+$-N 97.3% and T-P 34.6%. T-N of effluent was mostly $NO_3^-$-N and the concentration of $NO_2^-$-N in effluent was lower than 0.1 mg/L. All removal efficiencies did not show a remarkable seasonal change. The ranking of phosphorous fractions fixed to the zeolite in column test was Ca-P > Fe-P > reductant soluble Fe-P > occluded P > saloid P > AI-P at all depths of the filter. All phosphorous fractions except for AI-P reduced at deeper filter layer, while their content ratios increased at deeper filter layer. Organic matter content was the highest at the highest layer (0$\sim$5 cm from the top of the filter) and only small differences were observed at the deeper filter layer than 5 em from the top. Organic matter content increased at all depths of the filter with the operating time.
