Reducing handoff latency is essential in providing seamless multimedia service in Wireless LAN based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. Reducing authentication delay is critical in reducing handoff latency. To this end, several authentication protocols for fBst handoff have been proposed. Mishra et al. used proactive key distribution to improve the authentication delay incurred in the current standard and Park et al. proposed a new authentication protocol based on Blom's key pre-distribution scheme. In this paper, we propose an enhanced authentication protocol based on Bresson et al.'s group key protocol. If a mobile node has previously access the network, our proposed protocol only requires simple hash operations in providing mutual authentication between a mobile node and access points. Our protocol is more efficient than Park et al.'s and Mishra et al.'s technique can be used in our protocol to further enhance our protocol.

This paper propose a security method that performs mutual authentication between the SIP UA and the server, check for integrity of the signaling channel and protection of SDP information for VoIP using a One-Time Password. To solve the vulnerability of existing HTTP Digest authentication scheme in SIP, Various SIP Authentication schemes have been proposed. But, these schemes can't meet security requirements of SIP or require expensive cryptographic operations. Proposed method uses OTP that only uses hash function and is updated each authentication. So Proposed method do not require expensive cryptographic operations but performs user authentication efficiently and safely than existing methods. In addition, Proposed method verifies the integrity of the SIP messages and performs SDP encryption/decryption through OTP that used for user authentication. So Proposed method can reduce communication overhead when applying S/MIME or TLS.

In this paper, we analyze the authentication protocol for DRM proposed by Hussain et al. in 2022, and present an improved solution. Hussain et al. argued that their authentication protocol guarantees man-in-the-middle attack, replay attacks, and mutual authentication. However, as a result of analyzing Hussain et al.'s authentication protocol in this paper, Hussain et al.'s authentication protocol still has an insider attack problem, a problem with Yu et al.'s authentication protocol that they pointed out. For this reason, when an inside attacker acquires information on a mobile device, a user impersonation attack was also possible. In addition, there were problems with the user's lack of ID format verification and the problem of the secret key mismatch of the digital contents between the server and the user. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved solution to solve these problems. As a result of analysis in this paper, the improved solution is safe from various attacks such as smart card attack, insider attack, and password guessing attack and can safely authenticate users of DRM.

Vehicular networks play an important role in current intelligent transportation networks and have gained much attention from academia and industry. Vehicular networks can be enhanced by Long Term Evolution-Vehicle (LTE-V) technology, which has been defined in a series of standards by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). LTE-V technology is a systematic and integrated V2X solution. To guarantee secure LTE-V communication, security and privacy issues must be addressed before the network is deployed. The present study aims to improve the security functionality of vehicular LTE networks by proposing an efficient and secure ID-based message authentication scheme for vehicular networks, named the ESMAV. We demonstrate its ability to simultaneously support both mutual authentication and privacy protection. In addition, the ESMAV exhibit better performance in terms of overhead computation, communication cost, and security functions, which includes privacy preservation and non-frameability.

Mobile cloud computing (MCC) has revolutionized the way in which the services can be obtained from the cloud service providers. Manifold increase in the number of mobile devices and subscribers in MCC has further enhanced the need of an efficient and robust authentication solution. Earlier, the subscribers could get cloud-computing services from the cloud service providers only after having consulted the trusted third party. Recently, Tsai and Lo has proposed a multi-server authenticated key agreement solution for MCC based on bilinear pairing, to eliminate the trusted third party for mutual authentication. The scheme has been novel as far as the minimization of trusted party involvement in authenticating the user and service provider, is concerned. However, the Tsai and Lo scheme has been found vulnerable to server spoofing attack (misrepresentation attack), de-synchronization attack and denial-of-service attack, which renders the scheme unsuitable for practical deployment in different wireless mobile access networks. Therefore, we have proposed an improved model based on bilinear pairing, countering the identified threats posed to Tsai and Lo scheme. Besides, the proposed work also demonstrates performance evaluation and formal security analysis.

This paper proposed a session key exchange and authentication scheme on non-interactive key distribution algorithm using a community member's ID in ubiquitous networks. In ubiquitous network environment, User's context-awareness information is collected and used to provide a context-awareness service for someone who need it. However, in ubiquitous network environment, this kind of the Context-awareness information could be abused by a malicious nodes. The proposed scheme using the community member ID provides a session key exchange and mutual authentication between community members, and supports secure data communication. Also, when exchanging the session key and authenticating each other, this scheme reduces communication overhead and authentication delay compared to the AAA server scheme.

Home networks is a network composed of devices in home and is being expanded by evolving devices. Also, The number of digital contents in home network has been increasing steadily. But it is difficult to continually protect the rights of digital contents due to lack of interoperability among contents devices. Besides, a license has to be re-issued by DRM sever for contents transfer between devices. Thus, this paper proposes framework which can freely transfer the contents to another device through mutual device authentication and a system that can decrease overload of license management of the DRM server and that enable users outside home network to use contents through user authentication.
Recently, there are many researches on security to remove vulnerability which is caused by wireless communication in wireless sensor networks. To guarantee secure communication, we should basically provide key management for each node, mutual authentication and key agreement protocol between two nodes. Although many protocols are presented to supply these security services, some of them require plentiful storage memory, powerful computation and communication capacity. In this paper, we propose a lightweight and efficient authentication and key agreement protocol between two sensor nodes, which is an enhanced version of Juang's scheme. In Juang's protocol, sensor node's information used to share a secret key should be transmitted to registration center via a base station. On the contrary, since node's information in our protocol is transmitted up to only base station, the proposed scheme can decrease computation and communication cost for establishing the shared key between two nodes.

With increase of electric vehicle in the road, the number of charging/discharging infrastructure for electric vehicle in public space is also increased rapidly. To charge or discharge the electric vehicle the user of electric vehicle and service provider should verify the each other's identity to minimize security vulnerability. This paper proposes mutual authentication scheme between electric vehicle and charging/discharging service provider with help of hash function and Message Authentication Code(MAC). Also efficient operating scheme for charging/discharging service system is proposed. The analysis shows that the system has robustness against security vulnerability. Also this system can keep the sensitive personal information of service user safely.

In this paper, we analyze weaknesses of the biometrics-based user authentication scheme proposed by An. The result of analysis An's authentication scheme by the login success scenario proposed in this paper, if the attacker successes to get user's random number, he/she can pass user authentication phase of the legal server. Also the biometrics guessing scenario proposed in this paper shows the legal user's the biometric information is revealed in lost smart card. Since An's authentication scheme submit user ID and biometrics in plain text to the server, it is very vulnerable to inner attack and it is not provide the user anonymity to the server as well as the one to the third by user ID in plain text. Besides An's authentication scheme is contextual error too, due to this, it has weakness and so on that it did not check the validity of the smart card holder.
