환경미화원 산업재해방지를 위한 청소차량 안전시스템 개발에 대한 연구 (Development of Municipal Vehicle Safety System)

  • Garbage cause an environmental pollution, unsightly mess, fouls an odor, and unpleasant feeling. Various measures to solve the problems are studying. And the garbage are collected and treated by the street cleaner. Street cleaner is working for long time in the street from dawn to the night. And many kind of accidents are aroused, like traffic and crushing accident by garbage truck. This kind of accidents is increased every year. To prevent the accident, street cleaner wear a fluorescent light uniform But a count measures for the fallen accident and crushing accident from the garbage truck are insufficient. In addition, a street cleaner dose not like to wear a working uniform because of inconvenience. Therefore this study try to find a safety system of garbage truck for reducing measure of accidents of street cleaner.

  • Solid waste management (SWM) is one of the poorly rendered services in developing countries - limited resources, increasing population, rapid urbanization and application of outdated systems leads to inefficiency. Lack of proper planning and inadequate data regarding solid waste generation and collection compound the SWM problem. Decision makers need to formulate solutions that consider multiple goals and strategies. Given the large number of available options for SWM and the inter-relationships among these options, identifying SWM strategies that satisfy economic or environmental objectives is a complex task. The paper develops a mathematical model for a municipal Integrated SWM system, taking into account waste generation rates, composition, transportation modes, processing techniques, revenues from waste processing, simulating waste management as closely as possible. The constraints include those linking waste flows and mass balance, processing plants capacity, landfill capacity, transport vehicle capacity and number of trips. The linear programming model integrating different functional elements was solved by LINGO optimization software and various possible waste management options were considered during analysis. The model thus serves as decision support tool to evaluate various waste management alternatives and obtain the least-cost combination of technologies for handling, treatment and disposal of solid waste.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the treatment of a crush injury of the hand: a case report

  • We describe a case of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOt) as an adjunct to treatment of a crush injury to the hand. A 34-year-old male paramedic was involved in a motor vehicle accident and admitted for diagnosis and surgical treatment. He sustained a crush injury to his right hand and presented with significant muscle damage, including multiple fractures and dislocations, an avulsion injury of the flexor tendons, and amputation of the distal phalanx of the little finger. He underwent reconstructive surgery and received HBOt over the following days. In the following 2 months, he lost the distal and middle phalanges of the little finger and recovered hand function. Posttraumatic compartment syndrome responds well to HBOt, which reduces edema and contributes to angiogenesis, as well as promoting the cascade of healing events. High-energy trauma causes massive cell destruction, and the blood supply is usually not sufficient to meet the oxygen demands of viable tissues. Hyperbaric oxygenation by diffusion through interstitial and cellular fluids increases tissue oxygenation to levels sufficient for the host's responses to injury to work and helps control the delayed inflammatory reaction. HBOt used as an adjunct to surgical treatment resulted in early healing and rehabilitation, accelerating functional recovery. The results suggest that adjunctive HBOt can be beneficial for the treatment of crush injuries of the hand, resulting in better functional outcomes and helping to avoid unnecessary amputations.

  • 국내에서의 PAHs 연구결과 들은 아직도 측정·분석방법의 평가 등에 관한 수준에 머무르고 있으며, 전국적인 PAHs의 배출원 조사와 배출량 추정 등 체계적인 배출상태조사(emission inventory)와 배출특성 등에 관한 조사·연구 사례는 전무한 실정이다. 더욱이 오래 전부터 이 분야에 많은 관심을 가진 나라에서도 이 분야에 대한 연구가 입자상 물질에 흡착되어 있는 PAHs에 국한되고 있는 실정이다. (중략)

미세입자(PM2.5)의 배출원 구성물질 성분비 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Source Profiles for Fine Particles (PM2.5))

  • The Purpose of this study was to develop the P $M_{2.5}$ source Profiles, which are mass abundances (fraction of total mass) of a chemical species in P $M_{2.5}$ source emissions. The source categories studied were soil, road dust, gasoline and diesel vehicles, industrial source, municipal incinerator, coal-fired power plant, biomass burning, and marine. The chemicals analyzed were ions. elements. and carbons. From this study, soil source had the crustal components such as Si, hi, and Fe. In the case of road dust. Si, OC, Ca, Fe had large abundances. The abundant species were S $O_4$$^{2-}$, C $l^{[-10]}$ , N $H_4$$^{+}$, and EC in the gasoline vehicle and EC, OC, C $l^{[-10]}$ , and S $O_4$$^{2-}$ in the diesel vehicle. The main components were S $O_4$$^{2-}$, S N $H_4$$^{+}$, and EC in the industrial source using bunker C oil as fuel, C $l^{[-10]}$ , N $H_4$$^{+}$, Fe, and OC in the municipal incinerator source, and Si, Al, S $O_4$$^{2-}$, and OC in the coal -fired power plant source. In the case of biomass burning, OC, EC, and C $l^{[-10]}$ were mainly emitted. The main components in marine were C $l^{[-10]}$ , N $a^{+}$, and S $O_4$$^{2-}$.EX> 2-/.

  • 긴급차량 우선신호제어 시스템은 긴급차량의 출동여건을 개선할 수 있는 운영방안으로 아직까지 도입 기초단계이다. 따라서 국내 도입을 위해서는 단계적 계획과 이를 시행하기 위한 우선 도입지역 선정이 필요하다. 특히, 서울을 비롯한 광역지자체 단위의 사업 시행 시 모든 지역을 분석하기에는 시간과 비용 제약이 존재하며, 정량적이고 효율적인 도입지역 선정방안이 요구된다. 본 연구의 목적은 긴급차량 출동현황자료 분석을 통한 긴급차량 우선신호제어 시스템 도입지역 선정절차를 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 서울시 긴급차량 출동현황자료를 분석하여 우선 도입지역을 도출하였으며, 시뮬레이션 분석을 통해 도입에 따른 효과분석을 수행하였다.

가스화용융(熔融) 실증 시스템에서 HFC-134a 냉매분해(冷媒分解) 특성(特性) 연구(硏究) (Destruction of HFC-134a Refrigerant in Gasification-melting Demonstration System)

  • 본 연구는 가스화용융 시스템을 활용한 폐차 냉매의 친환경 파괴 기술개발을 목표로 하였다. 실증규모(생활폐기물 100톤/일) 가스화용융 시스템내 냉매를 주입할 수 있는 주입장치를 개발 및 제작하였으며, HFC-134a 주입량에 따른 냉매 분해효율 및 유해가스 특성을 고찰하였다. 분해효율은 3 kg/hr 냉매 주입시 99.995%이었고, 18시간 동안 유해가스 연속 측정 및 샘플링 측정결과, CO, SOx, NOx, HCl, HF 등의 유해가스는 환경법규를 만족하였고, 특히 냉매파괴 발생 HF는 0.1 ppm으로 법적 기준치 2ppm에 비해 미량으로 검출되었다.

Application of Representative $PM_{2.5}$ Source Profiles for the Chemical Mass Balance Study in Seoul

  • Source samples were collected to construct source profiles for 9 different source types, including soil, road dust, gasoline/diesel-powered vehicles, a municipal incinerator, industrial sources, agricultural/biomass burning, marine aerosol, and a coal-fired power plant. Seasonal profiles for 'Chinese aerosol', aerosols derived from the urban area of China, were reconstructed from seasonal $PM_{2.5}$ compositions reported in Beijing, China. Ambient $PM_{2.5}$ at a receptor site was also measured during each of the four seasons, from April 2001 to February 2002, in Seoul. The Chemical Mass Balance receptor model was applied to quantify source contributions during the study period using the estimated source profiles. Consequently, motor vehicle exhaust (33.0%), in particular 23.9% for diesel-powered vehicles, was the largest contributor affecting the $PM_{2.5}$ levels in Seoul, followed by agricultural/biomass burning (21.5%) and 'Chinese aerosol' (13.1%), indicating contributions from long-range transport. The largest contributors by season were: for spring, 'Chinese aerosol' (31.7%); for summer, motor vehicle exhaust (66.9%); and for fall and winter, agricultural/biomass burning (31.1% and 40.1%, respectively). These results show different seasonal patterns and sources affecting the $PM_{2.5}$ level in Seoul, than those previously reported for other cities in the world.

  • 무인항공기 드론(Drone)의 대중화가 국내에서도 급속도로 확장되면서 손쉽게 비행할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 국내에서는 분단국가라는 국가적인 특성과 최근 들어 몰래카메라에 대한 국민적 불안감, 그리고 특히 제약이 많은 관련법 때문에 성장과 규제가 상호충돌하면서 많은 문제점이 나타나고 있는 현실이다. 하늘의 산업혁명으로 불리고 있는 무인항공기 드론과 관련한 국내법 실정 및 문제점 등을 고찰하고, 이를 해결하는 방안을 강구하고자 한다.

연탄재 처리 환경미화원의 분진 및 호흡성 석영 노출 (Occupational exposure to dust and respirable quartz in coal briquettes ash handling worker)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess respirable crystalline silica (RCS) exposure levels in workers who collect and dispose used coal briquette ash (CBA) in sanitation companies that are subcontracted by one medium-sized local government on the collection of municipal household waste (MHW), and to analyze the quartz content in CBA. When the CBA powder that undergone specialized pretreatment in several steps were subjected to mineral identification and quantitative analysis using X-ray diffraction (XRD), it was found that quartz represented 18%, and in addition, mullite, and plagioclase were included. For two CBA collectors, samples were collected by the personal sampling evaluation method. After respirable dust was collected in accordance with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health 7500 method, the concentration of quartz was analyzed using XRD. Meanwhile, a portable real-time dust monitor (Sidepak AM520, TSI Inc., USA) was also used to observe the dust exposure level for each time zone and job task. The RCS exposure level of one worker was as high as 0.024 mg/㎥, which was the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Threshold Limit Values (TLV) level. The other worker also exhibited a concentration of 0.013 mg/㎥, which was more than half of TLV. The Sidepak results revealed that the work of collecting CBA and loading it onto a vehicle was hardly exposed to the dust of a significant level. It was found, however, that the work of transferring the collected CBA to a container through a conveyor belt was exposed to a very high average respirable dust concentration of 2.238 mg/㎥. The results of this study confirmed that quartz, which is crystalline silica and a carcinogen, is contained in CBA, one of municipal household waste (MHW), in high concentration. It was also confirmed that workers are exposed to high RCS concentrations while transferring collected CBA into a container. Although each local government in South Korea handles CBA in different ways, it is imperative to investigate the CBA exposure level of sanitation workers and improve their working conditions.
