DNC 시스템 개발 (Development of a Ddistributed Numerical Control System)

  • The basic technology for a production system represented by design, machining, assembly, and inspection, is machining technology such as CNC machine tools. etc. Direct Numerical Control, that effeciently manages NC programs is developing into Distributed Numerical Control that increases the utilization of the machining cell. It has the ability of monitoring and control, in real time, for CNC and periperial equipment. In this study, we develop a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multitasking operation capability for the machining cell with various CNC's. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, the system is interfaced with CNC machine tools and periperial device using RS-485 network and RS-232C communication methods.

스택기반 객체 지향형 영상 제어기 설계 (Design of Object-Oriented Cideo Controller based on Stack)

  • In this paper, a controller is designed for efficient controlling of video data with object-oriented feature. The need of controlling video data in an object unit is on the rise for the reason of rapidly growing demand for high-quality video services. We propose a programmable architecture with stack buffers which can minimize a scheduling overhead by having separate buffes for genral data and return addresses. The buffers are veyr useful for move and copy operations for multitasking and task switching. The controller offers extended instructions that process several data types including 32bit integrer type. Operation speed of the controller is from 77MHz to 44MHz.

  • 본 논문에서 연구하는 $\mu$C/OS는 마이크로프로세서를 위한 선점형(Preemptive) 실시간(Real-Time) 멀티태스킹(Multitasking) 커널(kernal)로서, 연성실시간(SOFT Real-Time) 시스템 개발에 적합하다. $\mu$C/OS는 대부분의 소스코드가 C 언어로 작성되어 있으므로 실시간 커널의 연구에 용이하다. 본 논문에서는 $\mu$C/OS에서 처리할 수 있는 태스크(task)의 개수 확장을 위한 커널 모듈(mudule)의 설계 및 구현 방법을 기술한다. $\mu$C/OS는 초대 64개의 사용자 태스크를 관리할 수 있도록 구성되어 있다. 따라서 64개 이상의 태스크를 필요로 하는 시스템을 커널로서는 적절하지 못한 문제점이 있다. 이 문제의 해결을 위해 본 논문은 태스크의 개수를 256개로 확장하고 이에 따른 커널 모듈 구조의 확장, 변환 방법을 설명한다.

  • Embedded system area has brought an innovation and has been spread rapidly by the growth of the Internet, wireless telephony and multimedia recently. Many embedded systems are required to be real-time systems in that it needs multi-tasking and priority based scheduling. This paper introduces a real-time system that was developed with web server ability for control and monitoring system employing a real-time operating system. It discusses the design model, structure, and applications of web server system. We used SNDS100 board which has a 32-bit RISC microcontroller of ARM7TDMI core as a hardware platform. MicroC/OS kernel was used as Real-time operating system that supports a preemptive and multitasking functions. We developed a hierarhchical control and monitoring system that not only reduced system and management costs, but also enhanced reusability and portability.

  • This paper describes multiple fault diagnosis method in complex system with hierarchical structure. Complex system is divided into subsystem, item, component. For diagnosing this hierarchical complex system, it is necessary to implement special neural network. We introducd to Hierarchical Artificial Neural Network(HANN) for this purpose. HANN consists of four level neural network, first level for symptom classification, second level for item fault diagnosis, third level for component symptom classification,forth level for component fault diagnosis. Each network is multi layer perceptron with 7 inputs, 30 hidden node and 7 outputs trainined by backpropagation. UNIX IPC(Inter Process Communication) is used for implementing HANN with multitasking and message transfer between processes in SUN workstation. We tested HANN in reactor system.

  • A new PC-based Engine Control system (ECS) is developed using an object oriented programming method. This system provides more convenient environment for engine tests, easier user interface and extended functions. A Windows-based ECS software is developed with class, and the class structure is built on encapsulation and abstraction. The closed-loop engine control scheme can be easily constructed by using dynamic link library and multitasking. This means that a user can perform desired experiments without clear knowledge of the hardware structure of the ECS. Also this system allows a user to individually control the ignition and fuel injection for each cylinder in a simple manner such as through a keyboard/mouse or in a real-time operation from a closed-loop control program.

  • In this paper, a dynamic learning controller for robot manipulator is implemented using real-time operating system with capabilities of multitasking, intertask communication and synchronization, event-driven, priority-driven scheduling, real-time clock control, etc. The controller hardware system with VME bus and related devices is developed and applied to implement a dynamic learning control scheme for robot manipulator. Real-time performance of the proposed dynamic learning controller is tested and evaluated for tracking of the desired trajectory and compared with the conventional servo controller.

Multimodal Interface Based on Novel HMI UI/UX for In-Vehicle Infotainment System

  • We propose a novel HMI UI/UX for an in-vehicle infotainment system. Our proposed HMI UI comprises multimodal interfaces that allow a driver to safely and intuitively manipulate an infotainment system while driving. Our analysis of a touchscreen interface-based HMI UI/UX reveals that a driver's use of such an interface while driving can cause the driver to be seriously distracted. Our proposed HMI UI/UX is a novel manipulation mechanism for a vehicle infotainment service. It consists of several interfaces that incorporate a variety of modalities, such as speech recognition, a manipulating device, and hand gesture recognition. In addition, we provide an HMI UI framework designed to be manipulated using a simple method based on four directions and one selection motion. Extensive quantitative and qualitative in-vehicle experiments demonstrate that the proposed HMI UI/UX is an efficient mechanism through which to manipulate an infotainment system while driving.

밀결합 멀티프로세서 시스템의 구현 및 성능평가 (Implementation and Performance Evaluation of a Tightly-Coupled Multiprocessor System)

  • In this paper, a tightly-coupled multiprocessor system is implemented with four processing elements based on MC68000 CPU, a common menory (128KB), and a single time-shared bus. The multi-tasking operating system, MTOS, is modified so that the multiprocessor system can support multitasking and multiprocessing. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated by stochastic Petri Net system modeling. The efficiency and the processing power are simulated for various load factors and up to 16 PEs. By running benchmark programs, such as quicksort, FFT, and matrix-multiplication, the speed of parallel processing is compared with that of a single processor.
