Mathematical Models for Optimal Bead Geometry for GMA Welding Process

  • A major concern in Gas Metal Arc (GMA) welding process is the determination of welding process variables such as wire diameter, gas flow rate, welding speed, arc current and welding voltage and their effects on the desired weld bead dimensions and shape. To successfully accomplish this objective, 81 welded samples from mild steel AS 1204 flats adopting the bead-on-plate technique were employed in the experiment. The experimental results were used to develop a mathematical model to predict the magnitude of bead geometry as follows; weld bead width, weld bead height, weld bead penetration depth, weld penetration shape factor, weld reinforcement shape factor, weld bead total area, weld bead penetration area, weld bead reinforcement area, weld bead dilution, length of weld bead penetration boundary and length of weld bead reinforcement boundary, and to establish the relationships between weld process parameters and bead geomery. Multiple regression analysis was employed for investigating and modeling the GMA process and significance test techniques were applied for the interpretation of the experimental data.

2급/ 5급 와동 복합레진 수복 술식에 대한 남녀 치과 의사의 비교 (COMPARISON OF OPERATIVE TECHNIQUES BETWEEN FEMALE AND MALE DENTISTS IN CLASS 2 AND CLASS 5 RESIN COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS)

  • 본 연구에서는 복합 레진을 이용한 2급/5급 와동의 직접수복에 있어서 치과의사의 성별에 따른 술식의 차이를 비교하였다. 2008년 대한치과의사협회에 등록된 치과의사 12,193명을 대상으로 이 메일을 통한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이 메일 수신이 확인된 2,632명 중 840명이 응답하였으며 응답자의 남녀 비율은(남 78.9%, 여 21.1%) 전체 치과의사의 남녀 비율과 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(p > 0.05). Chi-square test 와 multiple logistic regression analysis 를 이용하여 남녀간 술식의 차 이를 검증하였다. 2급 와동 수복에서 여자치과의사는 4회 이상의 적층 분할 수복을 하는 경향이 남자치과의사에 비해 1.87배 높았으며, 술식 당 30분 이상 소요하는 경향은 2.72배 높았다(p < 0.05). 5급 와동 수복에서 여자치과의사는 베이스를 사용하는 경향이 1.83배 높았으며, 술식 당 20분 이상 소요하는 경향은 1.63배 높았다(p < 0.05). 본 설문조사에 따르면 남녀 성별에 따라 복합 레진 수복 술식의 차이가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다.

인공신경망 기법을 이용한 사면의 내진성능평가 모델 제안 (A Propose on Seismic Performance Evaluation Model of Slope using Artificial Neural Network Technique)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 인공신경망 기법을 이용하여 사면의 내진 성능을 비교적 정확하면서도 효율적으로 예측하는 모델을 도출하는데 있다. 사면의 내진 성능은 지진입력 및 사면모델의 무작위성 및 불확실성으로 인하여 정량화하기 쉽지 않다. 이러한 배경 아래 사면에 대한 확률론적 지진 취약도 분석이 몇몇 연구자에 의해 수행되었고, 이를 기반으로 다중 선형회귀분석을 통하여 사면 내진성능에 대한 닫힌식이 제안된 바 있다. 그러나 전통적인 통계학적 선형회귀분석은 다양한 조건의 사면과 이에 따른 내진 성능 사이의 비선형적 관계를 정확하게 표현하지 못하는 한계를 보였다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하고자 인공신경망 기법을 사면 내진성능 예측 모델을 생성하는데 적용하였다. 도출된 모델의 유효성은 기존의 다중 선형 및 다중 비선형 회귀분석을 통한 모델과 비교하여 검증하였다. 결과적으로 이전 연구의 전통적인 통계학적 회귀 분석을 통한 모델과 비교 결과, 기본적으로 인공신경망 기법을 통하여 도출된 모델이 사면의 내진성능을 예측하는데 있어 우수한 성능을 보여주었다. 이러한 정확도 높은 모델은 향후 확률에 기반한 사면의 지진취약도 지도를 개발하고, 주요 구조물의 인근 사면으로 인한 리스크를 효과적으로 평가하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이라 기대된다.

Assessment of Left Ventricular Function with Single Breath-Hold Magnetic Resonance Cine Imaging in Patients with Arrhythmia

  • Purpose: To evaluate quantification results of single breath-hold (SBH) magnetic resonance (MR) cine imaging compared to results of conventional multiple breath-hold (MBH) technique for left ventricular (LV) function in patients with cardiac arrhythmia. Materials and Methods: MR images of patients with arrhythmia who underwent MBH and SBH cine imaging at the same time on a 1.5T MR scanner were retrospectively reviewed. Both SBH and MBH cine imaging were performed with balanced steady state free precession. SBH scans were acquired using temporal parallel acquisition technique (TPAT). Fifty patients ($65.4{\pm}12.3years$, 72% men) were included. End-diastolic volume (EDV), end-systolic volume (ESV), stroke volume (SV), ejection fraction (EF), myocardial mass, and LV regional wall motion were evaluated. Results: EF, myocardial mass, and regional wall motion were not significantly different between SBH and MBH acquisition techniques (all P-values > 0.05). EDV, ESV, and SV were significant difference between the two techniques. These parameters for SBH cine imaging with TPAT tended to lower than those in MBH. EF and myocardial mass of SBH cine imaging with TPAT showed good correlation with values of MBH cine imaging in Passing-Bablok regression charts and Bland-Altman plots. However, SBH imaging required significantly shorter acquisition time than MBH cine imaging ($15{\pm}7sec$ vs. $293{\pm}104sec$, P < 0.001). Conclusion: SBH cine imaging with TPAT permits shorter acquisition time with assessment results of global and regional LV function comparable to those with MBH cine imaging in patients with arrhythmia.

Nipple-Areola Complex Necrosis after Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy with Immediate Autologous Breast Reconstruction

  • Background Autologous or implant-based breast reconstruction after nipple-sparing mastectomy is increasingly preferred worldwide as a breast cancer treatment option. However, postoperative nipple-areola complex (NAC) necrosis is the most significant complication of nipple-sparing mastectomy. The purpose of our study was to identify the risk factors for NAC necrosis, and to describe the use of our skin-banking technique as a solution. Methods We reviewed cases of immediate autologous breast reconstruction after nipple-sparing mastectomy at our institution between June 2005 and January 2014. The patients' data were reviewed and the risk of NAC necrosis was analyzed based on correlations between patient variables and NAC necrosis. Moreover, data pertaining to five high-risk patients who underwent the donor skin-banking procedure were included in the analysis. Results Eighty-five patients underwent immediate autologous breast reconstruction after nipple-sparing mastectomy during the study period. Partial or total NAC necrosis occurred in 36 patients (43.4%). Univariate analysis and binary regression modeling found that body mass index, smoking history, radiation therapy, and mastectomy volume were significantly associated with NAC necrosis. Of the 36 cases of NAC necrosis, 31 were resolved with dressing changes, debridement, or skin grafting. The other five high-risk patients underwent our prophylactic skin-banking technique during breast reconstruction surgery. Conclusions NAC necrosis is common in patients with multiple risk factors. The use of the skin-banking technique in immediate autologous breast reconstruction is an attractive option for high-risk patients. Banked skin can be used in such cases without requiring additional donor tissue, with good results in terms of aesthetic and reconstructive outcomes.

사면지형에서 지상라이다 자료의 필터링 기법 (A Filtering Technique of Terrestrial LiDAR Data on Sloped Terrain)

  • 다중선형 회귀분석에 의하여 도출된 알고리즘을 이용하여 필터링 기법을 제시하였고, 제시된 기법을 이용하여 실제 사면지형을 지상 라이다로 스캔하여 취득된 원시자료에 대하여 필터링을 수행한 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 필터링의 정확도를 높이기 위하여 굴곡사면지형의 지성선을 기준으로 관측지역을 두 지역으로 분할하여 필터링을 적용하였을 경우가 사면을 분할하지 않고 필터링을 적용하였을 경우 보다 필터링 정확도가 8.73% 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 또한 굴곡사면 지형에서 사면을 분할하여 복합 필터링을 적용한 경우 전역 필터링이나 지역 필터링만 수행했을 때보다 약 5~7% 정확도가 높아진 것으로 보아 사면에 굴곡이 존재하여 경사가 일정하지 않은 경우 사면을 분할하여 복합 필터링을 수행하는 것이 더 효과적이라고 판단된다.

매트릭스 구성 델파이법을 이용한 공공보건사업 예산배분 연구 (A Study on the Budget Allocation to Public Health Programs Using Matrix Delphi Technique)

  • This study was conducted to get a resonable set of budget allocation to public health programs. Matrix Delphi technique was used to obtain the logic of study results and eventually to form a human model which could predict opinion of professionals on budget allocation. Thirty-two professionals in academic and governmental area responded to Delphi survey. Questionnaire was developed using matrix formation, and the matrix was formed by 6 decision criteria on budget allocation and 26 public health programs. The decision criteria are as following: size of problem(morbidity), severity of problem, social equity, importance of prevention, technical feasibility and efficiency of programs. Severity of problem dropped out of the model because it had significant correlation with the size of problem. A total score of each program was obtained by weighting the relative importance of each criteria which also were given by survey respondents. These total scores indicate that the most important public health program is vaccination for infants and children in terms of budget allocation. Monitoring communicable diseases, mental health program, and anti-smoking program are the next. In addition, respondents were asked of the desirable budget size of each program. The result was rearranged by multiple regression model using the scores of each decision criteria. In this process, the current budget size of central government was provided to the respondents, and included in the model. h set of desirable budgets modified using tile model was obtained. Considering the current size of budget, tile results of the model is very different from that of the total score. Managing dementia is ranked the first. Health promotion program for the elderly, rehabilitation of the disabled and monitoring communicable diseases are the next. The need to increase the budget of vaccination for the infants and children was not found as so high. The matrix structure in Delphi survey gave us the precise basis to make optimal decision, and made it possible to develop an opinion predicting model. However the plentifulness and diversity of professional opinions were not fully obtained due to the limited number of decision criteria.

  • 목 적 : IOS는 호흡 노력을 요하지 않으며 호흡기 저항을 측정하는 비침습적인 방법이다. IOS를 이용하여 국내 학동기 소아에서의 표준치를 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 7-12세의 건강한 소아 92명을 대상으로 IOS를 시행하였다. IOS 결과 값과 키, 몸무게, 체표 면적, 신체 질량 지수 및 나이 등의 연관성에 대하여 선형 회귀 분석을 시행하였다. 결 과 : IOS 성공률은 92.4%였다. 키, 몸무게, 체표 면적, 신체 질량 지수, 나이 등 5가지 변수값과 Rrs 및 Xrs를 분석한 결과, 키가 의미 있는 예측 인자였으며, 5가지 변수 모두 적용한 경우 가장 설명력이 높았다. 각각의 주파수에 따라 회귀 곡선 공식을 구하였으며, 이는 이전 연구들의 표준 공식과 비슷하였다. 결 론 : IOS의 표준치를 구하였으며 이를 활용하여 다양한 호흡기 질환의 진단에 활용될 수 있을 것이라 여겨진다.

인공신경망 기반 온실 외부 온도 예측을 통한 난방부하 추정 (Outside Temperature Prediction Based on Artificial Neural Network for Estimating the Heating Load in Greenhouse)

  • 최근, 인공신경망 모델은 예측, 수치제어, 로봇제어, 패턴인식 등의 분야에서 촉망되는 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 인공신경망 모델을 이용하여 온실 외부 온도를 예측하고 이를 온실제어에 활용하는데 목적이 있다. 예측 모델의 성능 평가를 위해 다중회귀모델과 SVM 모델과의 비교분석을 수행하였다. 평가 방법으로는 10-Fold Cross Validation을 사용하였으며, 예측 성능 향상을 위해 상관관계분석 통해 데이터 축소를 수행하였고, 측정 데이터로부터 새로운 Factor 추출하여 데이터의 신뢰성을 확보하였다. 인공신경망 구축을 위해 Backpropagation algorithm을 사용하였으며, 다중회귀모델은 M5 method로 구축하였고, SVM 모델을 epsilon-SVM으로 구축하였다. 각 모델의 비교분석 결과 각각 0.9256, 1.8503과 7.5521로 나타났다. 또한 예측모델을 온실 난방부하 계산에 적용함으로써 온실에 사용되는 에너지 비용 절감을 통한 수입증대에 기여할 수 있다. 실험한 온실의 난방부하는 3326.4kcal/h이며, 총 난방시간이 $10000^{\circ}C/h$일 때 연료소비량은 453.8L로 예측된다. 아울러 데이터 마이닝 기술 중 하나인 인공신경망을 정밀온실제어, 재배기법, 수확예측 등 다양한 농업 분야에 적용함으로써 스마트 농업으로의 발전에 기여할 수 있다.

양궁 백 텐션 국면에서 최우수 양궁선수의 동작특성 평가 (Evaluation on Motion Features of the World's Second Archer during Back-Tension in Archery)

  • It has been reported that Back-Tension played a significant role in archery (Lee & Bondit, 2005; Kim, 2007) but there are a few researches related Back-Tension in Korea recently. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate archery back tension technique for the second ranked archer in the World and to find ways to improve performance. A subject(height: 185cm, mass: 82kg, years: 21yrs, careers: 12yrs) who is a number of national team and the second ranked archer in the World authorized by FITA (Federation Internationale de Trial Arc) was perticipated in this experiment. When shooting 60 shots($12{\times}5$), shooting motions were recorded with 7 infrared cameras and 2 ultrahigh-speed cameras. A QTM and an Auto Track were used to acquire raw data. The sampling rates of both cameras were 200 Hz. and 1000 Hz. respectively and data were filtered using a fourth order Butterworth low pass filtering with a cutoff-frequency of 30Hz. The parameters were calculated with Matlab6.5 and analyzed with SPSS11.0. After Pearson's correlations between 8 parameters were analyzed, 5 parameters from 13parameters that affected records were analyzed with multiple regression analysis (Enter order: x1, x2, x3, x4, x5). The results were as follows: 1. Comparing between parameters according to scores, the patterns of horizontal and vertical angular velocity(av.) of scapular relative angle was different between 8 score and 9 or 10 scores. 2. The correlations of parameters that affected records were a horizontal av.(x1, p=.032<.05) and a vertical av.(x3, p=.033<.05) of scapular from release to delivery in KB back-tension (anchoring-delivery). 3. The decision coefficients(R2) of above two parameters and three parameters selected by experts that may affect record, that is, an absolute trunk angle(x4) from in KKC back-tension (anchoring-release) and a horizontal relative scapular angle(x2) and an absolute trunk angle(x5) from release to delivery in KB back-tension were 7.7%(x1), 0.1%(x2), 8.5%(x3), 0.7%(x4) and 0.9%(x5) in sequence. 4. The multiple regression equation was a y= -1.16E-2 x1 + 0.109 x2 + 3.437E-2 x3 + 6.139E-2 x4 + 0.117 x5 + 3.420 In conclusion, a total contribution was low, that is, R2(17.9%) suggested that on the one hand, Lim's motion may not depend on a certain factor because his postural factors affected shooting motion are some stable on the other hand, unknown factors may exist(e.g. psychological, physiological factors etc.). Further study of EMG patterns of muscles and anatomic consideration related to shoulder girdle and scapular bones may help to identify mechanism of Back-Tension.
