  • This study reviews dynamic deformation behavior of ultra-fine-grained Al alloys, ultra-fine-grained conventional low carbon steel and dual phase steel and Zr-based amorphous alloys. Dynamic tests were conducted using a Kolsky bar then the test data was analyzed in relation to resultant microstructures, mechanical properties and propensity of adiabatic shear band. In addition, deformed microstructures and fracture surfaces were used to investigate the behavior of both the dynamic deformation and fracture, and adiabatic shear banding. As a result, increasing microstructural homogeneity, strain hardenability and forming multiple shear bands could be a better way to increase the fracture resistance under dynamic loading as the formation of adiabatic shear bands was reduced or prevented.

  • The shrinkage and the mechanical properties of polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced mortar PHFRM were investigated in this study. Mortars were prepared with limestone crushing sand, Portland cement and polypropylene hybrid fibers PHF. Two types of virgin fibers, having the same length (30 mm) were used for reinforcing test mortars, fibers in diameter of 0.45 mm, used by PLAST BROS factory of Bordj Bou Arreridj (Algeria) for the fabrication of brooms (for household cleaning) and fibers in diameter of 0.25 mm, available on the market, having multiple applications. In this investigation, it was aimed to study the total and autogenous shrinkage, the flexural and compressive strength of mortars based on hybrid fibers. As a result, PHF have negatively affected the mortar workability. However, shrinkage risk was reduced and coarser fibers (PF45) were most effective for reducing shrinkage risk. The mechanical performances and the ductility of PHFRM were also enhanced.

  • A Modified fuzzy mechanical control of large-scale multiple time delayed dynamic systems in states is considered in this paper. To do this, at the first level, a two-step strategy is proposed to divide a large system into several interconnected subsystems. And we focus on the damage propagation for aircraft structural analysis of composite materials. As a modified fuzzy control command, the next was received as feedback theory based on the energetic function and the LMI optimal stability criteria which allow researchers to solve this problem and have the whole system in asymptotically stability. And we focus on the results which shows the high effective by the proposed theory utilized for damage propagation for aircraft structural analysis of composite materials.

  • When the intensity of X-rays scattered from amorphous materials (very weakly absorbing materials) is measured using standard diffractometric technique, the intensity caused by multiple scattering is obtained in the measured X-ray intensity. Computer programs have been developed to estimate the intensity of the mul-tiple scattering obtained in vitreous SiO2 and B2O3 with various X-rays. Using the above computer program, the intensity ratios of multiple scattering to single scattering in vitreous SiO2 were 0.10~0.16% at CuK$\alpha$, 0.98~5.87% at MoK$\alpha$, and 1.88~17.86% at AgK$\alpha$ in the range of 2$\theta$=0~180$^{\circ}$. Therefore, pri-or to the structural analysis of vitreous SiO2 and B2O3 performed experimentally using X-ray diffractometric technique, the intensity data measured in MoK$\alpha$ and AgK$\alpha$ radiations must be corrected for multiple scattering effect.

  • Effect of isochronic aging on transformation behavior of Ti-50.85at%Ni alloy were investigated by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The martensitic transformation temperature increases with increasing annealing temperature until reaching a maximum, and then decreases with further increasing annealing temperature. This can be rationalized by interaction between the distribution of $Ti_3Ni_4$ precipitates and Ni content in the matrix. The R-phase transformation temperature increases with increasing annealing temperature until reaching a maximum, and then decreases with a further increase of annealing temperature. This is attributed to the change of Ni content in the matrix caused by precipitation of $Ti_3Ni_4$. The occurrence of the multiple-stage martensitic and R-phase transformation is attributed to precipitation-induced inhomogeneity of the matrix, both in terms of composition and of internal stress fields.

  • We need questions that have various answers, not one answer by just mechanical calculation, to improve students' creativity. Such questions usually require inquiry, presumption, logical inference and a variety of problem solving tactics. These questions will be even more effective when they can provide students with multiple experiences by making them engage in lots of activities. We have to make use of diverse teaching aids and tools, or teaching materials in order to get these results. This research searches for teaching materials which improve gifted students' creativity as well as the ways to utilize 4D Frame. Furthermore we intend to present the ways to put such materials and 4D frame into practical use.

  • This study was accomplished to investigate the preference of clothing materials and the clothing demand performance for underwear and everyday dress of atopic patients. As this study was the research study by a use of a questionnaire, the finally total 987 copies of the collected questionnaires were used to analyze the data. SPSS was used for the statistical analysis of data. To analyze the data, frequency analysis, percentage, $X^2$-test, reliability analysis, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple comparisons were used. The results obtained are as follows. In factor analysis for clothing materials and the demand performance which atopic patients favor, the preference factors for underwear materials were classified as pliability/a sense of weight, a sense of cold and warmth, tactility, and elasticity. Those for everyday wear were classified as pliability/surface roughness, a sense of cold and warmth, a sense of weight, and elasticity. And the demand performance factors for underwears were classified as thermophysiology, care convenience, and skin contact. Those for everyday wear were classified as comfortableness and care convenience. In the difference analysis for the preference and the demand performance, Both everyday wear and underwear showed a significant difference for the preference and the demand performance according to gender, age, income, education level, and occupation.

  • An integrated multifunctional sensor, capable of raising an early electric-fire warning, was fabricated. An arc-light, temperature, and humidity sensor was fabricated on a flexible substrate using a printed thin film of indium tin oxide. A polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate was used as the flexible substrate. The sensor was fabricated on a PET substrate, and its operating characteristics were tested. The operating performances of the sensor when serving as an arc-light, a temperature, and a humidity sensor were estimated to be 0.6247 Ω/W, 80.6 Ω/K, and -4.08 Ω/RH, respectively. The feasibility of the proposed fire sensor was demonstrated; it costs low and offers multiple functionalities.

  • To evaluate their potential utility as an ornamental organism, novel transgenic marine medaka Oryzias dancena strains with a highly vivid fluorescent phenotype were established through transgenesis of a cyan fluorescent protein gene (cfp) driven by the endogenous fast skeletal myosin light chain 2 gene (mlc2f) promoter. The transgenic marine medaka strains possessed multiple copies of transgene integrants and passed their fluorescent transgenes successfully to subsequent generations. Transgenic expression in skeletal muscles at both the mRNA and phenotypic levels was, overall, dependent upon transgene copy numbers. In the external phenotype, an authentic fluorescent color was dominant in the skeletal muscles of the transgenic fish and clearly visible to the unaided eye. The phenotypic fluorescent color presented differentially in response to different light-irradiation sources; the transgenics displayed a yellow-green color under normal daylight or white room light conditions, a strong green-glowing fluorescence under ultraviolet light, and a cyan-like fluorescence under blue light from a light-emitting diode.
