  • This paper CMOS full adder design method based on carry-propagation-free addition trees and a circuit technique, so called multiple-valued current-mode (MVCM) circuits. The carry-paopagation-free addition method uses a redundant digit sets called redundant positive-digit number representations. The carry-propagation-free addition is by three steps, and the adder can be designed directly and efficiently from the algorithm using MVCM circuit. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method through simulation(SPICE).

인지 무선 네트워크에서의 베이지안 추론 기반 다중로봇 위치 추정 기법 연구 (Localization Method for Multiple Robots Based on Bayesian Inference in Cognitive Radio Networks)

  • In this paper, a localization method for multiple robots based on Bayesian inference is proposed when multiple robots adopting multi-RAT (Radio Access Technology) communications exist in cognitive radio networks. Multiple robots are separately defined by primary and secondary users as in conventional mobile communications system. In addition, the heterogeneous spectrum environment is considered in this paper. To improve the performance of localization for multiple robots, a realistic multiple primary user distribution is explained by using the probabilistic graphical model, and then we introduce the Gibbs sampler strategy based on Bayesian inference. In addition, the secondary user selection minimizing the value of GDOP (Geometric Dilution of Precision) is also proposed in order to overcome the limitations of localization accuracy with Gibbs sampling. Via the simulation results, we can show that the proposed localization method based on GDOP enhances the accuracy of localization for multiple robots. Furthermore, it can also be verified from the simulation results that localization performance is significantly improved with increasing number of observation samples when the GDOP is considered.

  • An extended version of the minimax eccentricity factor estimation for multiple set case is proposed. In addition, two more simple methods for multiple set factor analysis exploiting the concept of generalized canonical correlation analysis is suggested. Finally, a certain connection between the generalized canonical correlation analysis and the multiple set factor analysis is derived which helps us clarify the relationship.

  • It was possible to produce W/O/W one step multiple emulsion on the system which satisfied following conditions. 1. 1-5% of hydrophilic liquid surfactant over HLB20 and lipophilic liquid surfactant which has HLB 3∼5 2. Non wax copolymers as oil thickener 3. More than 0.5% of carbomer as aqueous thickener 4. The manufacturing process which neutralize the dispersed carbomer (2.0% in water), after emulsifying. For the selective addition into inner and outer aqueous phase, we melted the glucose in water before emulsifying. Using an Anthrone analysis method, we analyzed the encapsulation yield of glucose in inner water phase. It was possible to raise the water encapsulation yield of the multiple emulsion through the following conditions. 1. Using of anionic hydrophilic surfactant(HLB 40) and lipophilic surfactant (HLB 3∼5) 2. Controlling the ratio of hydrophilic surfactant and lipophilic surfactant 3. Strengthening interface with increase of non wax oil thickener. When the separated adding process of glucose was adopted, approximately 85% of glucose was added selectively within inner aqueous phase.

  • This paper addresses the issue fo target classification and localization with a SONAR for mobiler robot indoor navigation. In particular, multiple refetions of SONAR sound are used actively and interntionally. As for the SONAR sensor, the multiple reflection has been generally considered as one of the noisy phenomena, which is inevitable in the indoor environments. However, these multiple reflections can be a clue for classifying and localizing targets in the indoor environment if those can be controlled and used well. This paper develops a new SONAR sensor module with a reflection plane which can actively create the multiple refection. This paper also intends to suggest a new target classification emthod which uses the multiple refectiions. We approximate the world as being two dimensional and assume that the targets consisting of the indoor environment are pland, corner, and edge. Multiple reflection paths of an acoustic bean by a SONAR are analyzed, by simulations and the patterns of the TOPs (Time Of Flight) and angles of multiple reflections from each target are also analyzed. In addition, a new algorithm for target classification and localization is proposed.

  • In this paper, we present a procedure to design the robust optimal supervisor which has the minimal cost in the sense of average for a given multiple-modelled discrete event system DES. In order to design the robust optimal supervisor, we extend the optimal supervisor design algorithm for a deterministic DES to the case of multiple-modelled DESs. In addition, using the proposed algorithm with modified costs of events and penalities of states, we can show whether a robust supervisor for a given multiple-modelled DES exists and design the minimally restricted robust supervisor.

Multiple-input multiple-output systems include a variety of techniques capable of not only increase the reliability of the communication but also impressively boost the channel capacity. In addition, smart antenna systems can increase the link quality and lead to appreciable interference reduction.

  • 본 논문에서는 Reed-Muller 전개식에 의한 다치 논리 회로의 구성에 관한 한 가지 방법을 제시하였다. 먼저, Perfect Shuffle 기법과 Kronecker 곱에 의한 다치 논리함수의 입출력 상호연결에 대하여 논하였고, GF(4)의 가산회로와 승산회로를 이용하여 다치 Reed-Muller 전개식의 변환행렬과 역변환행렬을 실행하는 기본 셀을 설계하였다. 이 기본 셀들과 Perfect Shuffle과 Kronecker 곱에 의한 입출력 상호연결 방법을 이용하여 다치 Reed-Muller 전개식에 의한 다치 논리 회로를 구현하였다. 제시된 다치 Reed-Muller 전개식의 설계방법은 모듈구조를 기반으로 하여 행렬변환을 이용하므로 동일한 함수에 대하여 타 방법과 비교하여 간단하고 회로의 가산회로와 증산회로를 줄이는데 매우 효과적이다. 제안된 다치 논리회로의 설계방법은 회선경로 선택의 규칙성, 간단성, 배열의 모듈성과 병렬동작의 특징을 가진다.

  • 본 연구는 다중의 동력장치를 이용하여 다수의 객체를 움직이는 키네틱 디자인작품을 제작하면서 다수의 객체를 소수의 동력장치를 이용하여 다수의 동력장치를 이용한 것 같은 다양한 움직임을 구현할 수 있게 하는 것이 목적이다. 다수의 객체를 다양하게 움직이기 위해선 다수의 동력장치를 사용하여 움직임을 나타내는 것이 일반적인 방법이나 이렇게 하면 객체만큼의 많은 동력장치를 이용해야 하며 과다한 동력장치 사용으로 비용의 상승과 작품무게가 증가하게 된다. 많은 동력장치를 움직이기 위한 많은 전력 소모를 하게 된다. 이에 소수의 동력장치로 다수의 객체를 다양한 움직임을 통해 제어할 수 있는 메커니즘을 작품에 적용하여 실험하였다. 메커니즘을 이용해 다수의 객체를 움직이면 작품의 무게와 전력 소모량을 현저하게 줄일 수 있었다. 또한, 캠의 위치와 모양을 변경한 캠샤프트 구조의 이용과 베벨기어의 이용을 통해 객체의 행과 열을 늘려 다양한 움직임을 표현할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 키네틱 디자인 작품을 제작하는 많은 디자이너에게 다수의 객체를 제어하는 하나의 또 다른 방법을 제시하게 된다.

Investigating the use of multiple social networking services: A cross-cultural perspective in the United States and Korea

  • The rise in recent technology has changed the ways, in which people communicate with one another. Social networking services (SNSs) have become one of the most representative means. General SNSs allow users to create their own unique profiles, search for fellow members, share information, etc., while other SNSs have functions that cater to different needs of users. As a result, users of SNSs have begun to pick and choose different SNSs and concurrently use multiple SNSs in order to fulfill all their needs. This exploratory study examined which SNSs are used together and the characteristics that predict the use of multiple SNSs. In addition, it observed the differences between consumers' usage of multiple SNSs in different cultures. An online survey was administered to SNS users in the United States and Korea. The results of the study showed that the use of multiple SNSs is not yet prevalent in Korea, the country that represented a collectivistic culture. In addition, in the U.S., the highest number of users reported that they were active on at least three SNSs.
