Co-occurrence Patterns of Bird Species in the World

  • In order to identify key nations and bird species of conservation concern we described multinational collaborations as defined using network analysis linked by birds that are found in all nations in the network. We used network analysis to assess the patterns in bird occurrence for 10,422 bird inventories from 244 countries and territories. Nations that are important in multinational collaborations for bird conservation were assessed using the centrality measures, closeness and betweenness centrality. Countries important for the multinational collaboration of bird conservation were examined based on their centrality measures, which included closeness and betweenness centralities. Comparatively, the co-occurrence network was divided into four groups that reveal different biogeographical structures. A group with higher closeness centrality included countries in southern Africa and had the potential to affect species in many other countries. Birds in countries in Asia, Australia and the South Pacific that are important to the cohesiveness of the global network had a higher score of betweenness centrality. Countries that had higher numbers of bird species and more extensively distributed bird species had higher centrality scores; in these countries, birds may act as excellent indicators of trends in the co-occurrence bird network. For effective bird conservation in the world, much stronger coordination among countries is required. Bird co-occurrence patterns can provide a suitable and powerful framework for understanding the complexity of co-occurrence patterns and consequences for multinational collaborations on bird conservation.

  • As the design environment of domestic infrastructure facilities shifts from a traditional co-work office system to a virtual digital co-work office, a CDE collaboration platform is required to build a digital co-work office suitable for the domestic design environment. In addition, a number of large multinational projects requiring collaboration from domestic and foreign construction companies are ordered, and procedures for performing tasks based on international standards such as ISO 19650 are required, so preparation for domestic designers is required. Therefore, this study aims to derive CDE requirements for the development of an ISO 19650-based CDE collaboration platform suitable for domestic design environments, and derived Korean CDE requirements based on ISO 19650 series and overseas CDE cases.

The Impact of Interactional Justice and Supply-Chain Collaboration on Sustainable SCM Performance: The Case of Multinational Pharmaceutical Firms

  • This study explored the impact of interactional justice on supply-chain collaboration and sustainable supply-chain performance. Accordingly, it classified interactional justice of supply-chain management (SCM) into interpersonal and informational justice, and empirically classified the effects of these subordinate concepts on supply-chain collaboration and sustainable supply-chain performance. To this end, 700 questionnaires were distributed, and 201 final valid responses were used for the statistical analysis which revealed the significant positive influence of interpersonal justice on informational justice. This indicates that courtesy, respect, and proper words are important in the relationship between buyers and sellers. Both interpersonal and informational justice had a significant positive relationship with supply-chain collaboration. The results suggest that a fair-trade environment should be cultivated to encourage and facilitate seller-buyer collaboration. Lastly, supply-chain collaboration had a positive influence on sustainable supply-chain performance. This implies that if justice is not perceived in the seller-buyer relationship, collaboration can be hindered, which negatively impacts corporate performance. These findings also helped to understand the importance of interactional justice and to propose a new relationship between interpersonal and informational justice.

  • Logistics industry confronting very complex situation because of small quantity, frequent orders, multinational enterprises, lack of human power etc. leads to diversity, flexibility and agility. In this paper, integrated approach is introduced for projecting national technologies in logistics systems related to IT and automated control industry. Three areas of automation, IT basis, and operation techniques are included along with business factors of transportation, warehousing, stevedoring, pecking, and information systems. As a result, the epitome concludes the technology of in-house development and joint collaboration with others.

Korean Multinational Corporations' Global Expansion Strategies in Manufacturing Sector: Mother Factory Approach

  • The study explores the evolving landscape of overseas expansion strategies by Korean corporations, focusing on recent geopolitical tensions, the COVID-19 pandemic, and disruptions in global supply chains. It emphasizes the challenges faced by industries producing high-value products and delves into the concept of "Friend-Shoring" policies in the United States, leading major Korean companies to invest in local semiconductor, battery, and automotive factories. Recognizing the potential fragmentation of Korea's manufacturing sector, the paper introduces the "Mother Factory" strategy as a policy initiative, inspired by Japan's model, to establish core production facilities domestically. The discussion unfolds by examining the cases of major companies in Japan and the United States, highlighting the need for Korea to adopt a mother factory strategy to mitigate risks associated with friend-shoring policies. Inspired by Intel's "Copy Exactly" approach, the paper proposes a Korean mother factory model integrating smart factory technology and digital twin systems. This strategic shift aims to enhance responsiveness to geopolitical challenges and fortify the competitiveness of Korean high-tech industries. Finally, the paper proposes a Korean Mother Factory based on smart factory concepts. The suggested model integrates smart factory technology and digital twin frameworks to enhance responsiveness and fortify competitiveness. In conclusion, the paper advocates for the adoption of a comprehensive Korean Mother Factory model to address contemporary challenges, foster advanced manufacturing, and ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of Korean high-tech industries in the global landscape. The proposed strategy aligns with the evolving dynamics of the manufacturing sector and emphasizes technological advancements, collaboration, and strategic realignment.

A Study on the Collaboration Types of Knowledge Creation in Korean Government-supported Research Institutes of S&T: Focusing on Openness and Diversity (과학기술계 출연연구기관의 지식창출 협력유형 분석에 관한 연구: 개방성과 다양성 중심으로)

  • We classified collaboration types of Government-supported Research Institutes (GRIs) in Korea to make a creation knowledge with the openness and the diversity. The openness is described to collaboration dependence and leading intensity, and the diversity is expressed to collaboration diversity and collaboration concentration. We suggest four taxonomy models explained in terms of the openness and the diversity with country level and institute level. This study uses 39,507 papers in SCOUPS DB that include author(s) affiliated to 26 GRIs. It concludes that many GRIs is classified to the type of multilateral collaboration follower in institute level and to the type of global network player in country level from the perspective of openness. In the aspect of diversity, many GRIs is concentrated to the collaboration type of picky eater or monophagous in institute level and to the multinatioal asymmetry type or non-multinational asymmetry type in country level. It is necessary for GRIs to lead collaboration and to transfer inhouse R&D institutes with high performance to be competitive institutes which make high quality knowledge.

  • Purpose: This study aims to explore the experience of cross-cultural communication adaptation between local and expatriate employees at PT. XX Organizational culture in the company is the most important factor to helpemployees in the company to work efficiently and effectively in order to achieve company goals. Research design, data and methodology: The analysis methods used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing a conclusion. From this collaboration, the cultural adaptations arouse due to the challenges for workers who have to work together with different cultural backgrounds. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection methods used is employee interviews at PT. XX with triangulation conducted on 2 expatriates and 2 local employees. Results: Studies show that successful management is highly dependent on employees adapting to local culture and work situations. This process rarely runs smoothly because the persons in intercultural interaction do not use the same language and the lack of adaptation.. Conclusions: . In order to maintain its existence, the company strives to expand its wings in the global market and establish partnerships to expand cooperation. PT.   • Globally Integrated Enterprise(GIE) has recently emerged as a popular concept in multinational enterprises(MNEs). In this paper, we use the AAA triangle in order to explain the degrees of adaptation, aggregation and arbitrage in IBM, P&G and NOKIA. The AAA triangle provides a basis for understanding GIE on the topic. This research also examines IT collaboration in order to provide practical guidance for implementation of AAA triangle. From the case study, several results are derived. First, we suggest a step-by-step approach for GIE to enhance global value creation with a situation. Second, we emphasize the importance of IT collaboration in process of introducing the AAA strategies. We believe that the issues we have raised in this paper will be useful to MNEs. In terms of the AAA triangle, this would be best thought of as a lateral shift to a new area of business, where the organization would have more of a competitive advantage.
