A Study on the Performance Analysis of Broadband ISDN Traffic (광대역 ISDN의 트래픽 성능분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, performance of 8-ISDN traffic for the buffer size which is requested of important parameters in switch/multiplexer of B-ISDN with multimedia traffic is analyzed. Multimedia traffic is modeled as a traffic, which is composed of poisson distribution traffic and burst traffic with exponential/geometric ON time duration(Burst duration) Performance of traffic which is modeled as a multimedia traffic is analysed and buffer size, can provide the high quality service, is presented for the cell loss probability. It is simulated using event scheduling approach method which is provided by simulation package, PC SIMSCRIPT II.5. Simulation program is composed of PREAMBLE, MAIN, INITIAL, ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE and STOP·SIM modules. Specially, in case of mixed traffic simulation, ARRIVAL module is composed of ARRIVAL I and ARRIVAL II, and cells are generated independently by each module.

  • The existing subjects of supply chain management, which link business firms to customers, have focused on forward logistics such as acquisition of low and subsidiary parts, manufacturing, distribution and sales. Consequently, it is emphasized that supply chain management has to be a sustainable business activity. Nevertheless, capabilities of reverse supply chain management for domestic companies are still relatively limited compared to advanced foreign companies. For this reason, this study aims to develop the service platform, which provides information on return, retrieval, abolish and recycling using RFID, includes information on packing, placement, loading and unloading and transportation of the goods. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the research previous studies and analyze achieved diverse cases on reverse logistics, review the present state, and propose service platform application to manage reverse supply chain which will be applied.

  • In order to meet the customers'emerging demands for more bandwidth and diverse IP multimedia applications including high definition(HD) video streaming service, KT presents innovative FTTP solution using WDM-PON system. FTTP comprises an OLT inside the central office, a fiber optic distribution network including a passive remote node in the outside plant, and ONU installed on the pole or wall of customers premise. The passive remote node is located in a manhole near the subscribers and does not require any electrical power supply. And finally, UTP cable is connected from ONU to subscribers'IP appliances like PC or HGW or IP-STB. KT finished its FTTP trial service in 2004 and commercial deployment has begun since 2005. With this FTTP solution, each subscriber can enjoy high-speed internet service with speeds of up to symmetric 100 Mbit/s and various IP media applications including HD quality IP video streaming service and high quality video phone service.

  • Recently, users of multimedia files demand a high capacity file via internet. However, it is difficult to guarantee QoS for high capacity files on internet because of its inconstant bandwidth. For guaranteeing the QoS, CDN (Content Delivery Network) is generally used for contents delivery service. Based on CDN, we propose Content Distribution and Management using Metadata (CDM) system which provides advanced transmission method and searching method. To enhance the transmission rate, CDM system supports segment-unit-based transmission method that enables parallel transmission. Also, we propose a distribution method through content based search.

  • Recently the commercial value of GIS(geographic information system) has been increased with growing application demands of spatial information in life space. Also, GIS has been expanded to the integrated information system that provides the ease access to map information by public users and also the combined service of GIS map data and various multimedia contents. But several security problems of GIS map data have brought up at GIS industries, such as the illegal copy and distribution of GIS map data. Furthermore, the copyright protection of GIS map data has not been researched yet compared with image and video contents. This paper presents a polyline based watermarking scheme for the copyright protection of GIS vector map. The proposed scheme analyzes the structure of vector map and embeds adaptively the watermark by using the distance distribution of polyline components. From experimental results, we verified that the proposed scheme satisfies the invisibility and the robustness of geometrical attacks.

  • 인터넷 서비스에 QoS(Quality of Service)를 제공하면서 IP(Internet Protocol)의 유연성과 확장성을 제공하기 위해 IETF에서는 MPLS(Multiple Protocol Label Switching)기술을 표준화하였다. 또한, MPLS기술의 기본이 되는 시그널링 프로토콜로 LDP(Label Distribution Protocol), CR-LDP(Constrained based LDP). RSVP-TE(Resource Reservation Protocol-Traffic Engineering)의 표준화를 진행해 왔다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 MPLS 기술을 적용하여 현재의 IP망에서 보다 안정적이고 차별화된 서비스를 제공하기 위해 리눅스 상에서 구연한 라우터기반 MPLS 시스템을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 라우터 기반 MPLS 시스템은 기존 IP망과의 연동을 위해 MPLS 도메인상의 OSPF데몬을 수정하며, MPLS망에서 명시적 경로를 제어하기 위해 MPLS데몬을 수정한다. 그리고 MPLS데몬과 OSPF데몬은 수정된 Zebra데몬에 의해 스트림 형태로 정보를 교환한다.

  • Due to the rapid popularization of mobile multimedia devices and the Internet as well as the realization of high-speed data transmission and large-volume data recording media, high quality content distribution and ubiquitous information services are making progress and a new type of information distribution and network sharing service has gradually emerged into the market. It is capable of utilizing terabyte sized home servers also in private homes. Under these circumstances, in distribution of content over shared networks, it is crucial to establish DRM (Digital Rights Management) technologies to protect the content from illegal copying and usage. A truly successful DRM system must be built on open worldwide specifications and provide maximum interoperability and user acceptance. An open interoperability of DRM is able to construct highly expandable PKI based DRM, targeting usage between systems, considering the expansion of recent content distribution services and clients This document gives protocol specifications for the exchange of rights information between the DRM module, description of specifications for rights information and encrypted content formats.

  • It is issued that protecting and managing a copyright are very important to a digitization of multimedia content. All of these techniques are for developing solution about protection and management of the copyright and media service. These have been at the head of the growth of the whole media service, but cause problems such as a illegal copy and distribution. To solve these problems, researchers are performing many projects. We analyze the trend of a multimedia service IPMP(Intellectual Property Management and Protection), DMP(Digital Media Project), ENTHRONE(End-to-end Qos through Integrated Management of Content, Networks and Terminals), and DRM(Digital Rights Management).

  • The increasing popularity of multimedia streaming services introduces new challenges in content distribution. Especially, it is important to provide the QoS guarantees as they are increasingly expected to support the multimedia applications. Multimedia streams typically experience the high start-up delay due to the large protocol overhead, the delay, and the loss properties of the wireless networks. The service providers can improve the performance of multimedia streaming by caching the initial segment (prefix) of the popular streams at proxies near the requesting clients. The proxy can initiate transmission to the client while requesting the remainder of the stream from the server. In this paper, we propose the traffic based caching algorithm (TSLRU) to improve the performance of caching proxy. TSLRU classifies the traffic into three types, and improve the performance of caching proxy by reflecting the several elements such as traffic types, recency, frequency, object size when performing the replacement decision. In simulation, TSLRU performs better than the existing schemes in terms of byte hit rate, hit rate, startup latency, and throughput.

  • Due to the recent advances in computer technologies and high-speed networks, telecommunication services and provision of multimedia services will be considered a new software architecture adapting networking infrastructure on information networking architecture. In this paper, the video conference services has been selected as a target service example because it is expected to become one of the most important services on the full service network. In fact, it can be viewed as the basis for providing telecommunication services such as video telephony and video conferencing. This paepr presents the prototyping of TINA(Telecommunication Information Networking Architecture) based desktop video conference system using the concepts of session management. The prototyping of deskop video conference system aims at assessing TINA concepts and refinement of the mapping between session graph and connection graph, and provides support of open service platform towards distribution and objected-orientation.
