The objectives of this study were to develop the therapeutic recreation programs for relieving depressive symptoms of the elderly and to verify the effect on their psychological condition. The key elements of these programs, which consisted of 9 sessions. were aerobic exercises, group dynamics. and making fun. These programs were developed through a multidisciplinary approach with social workers and the faculties of preventive medicine. The social workers gave these programs to fifteen elderly people at the community center, so called noinjung, for 9 weeks. Before intervention of this program for the experimental group, the baseline was measured by GDS(geriatric depression scale). After intervention for 9 weeks, GDS as an outcome was measured to evaluate the effects of the program. This data was analyzed by $X^2$-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test. and the results were as follows: 1. Based upon the cutting point(GDS = 5) which could distinguish between depression group and normal group, the number for the normal group increased, while the number for the depression group decreased slightly after intervention with the therapeutic recreation programs, however, there was no significant change(p〉0.05). 2. The score of GDS decreased significantly after intervention with the therapeutic recreation programs(p〈0.05). 3. The scores of GDS decreased in widow(or) group and in female group compared to those of the married group and the male group, respectively(p〈0. 05). 4. The score of GDS increased in groups with similar labor and emotional support compared to those of groups with sufficient or less support, respectively(p〈0.05), These findings indicate that the therapeutic recreation programs might be effective for relieving depressive symptoms of the elderly. It is, therefore, suggested that this program be modified and standardized through review of the intervening process, experimental results, and responses of clients for appling in other noinjungs.

The present study evaluated the SNS addiction tendency, mental health, and the student's adjustment to college life to identify the correlations between each of these independent variables on the dependent variable, the adjustment to university life of undergraduate students. Data were collected from 197 subjects in K university of G city, using a self-administered questionnaire. Mental health was negatively correlated with the adaptation to university life. A significant influence of gender and mental health on the adjustment to college life was found in this sample. These findings are expected contribute to understanding and improving the adjustment to college life of undergraduate students. Based on these findings, it will be necessary to improve mental health and multidisciplinary interventions will be needed to support the adjustment to college life in undergraduate students. In addition, these findings would contribute to the development of programs for student's adaptation to college life.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Evidence-based customized nutritional interventions are required for effective treatment of moderate to severe obese children and adolescents. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Sixty six (64.1% of 103) of the eligible participants who joined the usual care or physical activity group in the clinic were involved in 16-week intervention. Customized nutritional intervention was implemented for each participant based on a nutrition care process (NCP) model. Sociodemographic assessment, anthropometrics data, health- and dietary-related behaviors, and dietary intake of the study subjects were assessed at baseline and follow-up. All participants engaged in 30-minute nutritional sessions on a monthly basis. RESULTS: After 16 weeks, there were significant improvements in body composition [BMI (-0.8 ± 0.9, P < 0.05), BMI z-score (-0.3 ± 0.2, P < 0.001), body fat (kg) (-1.3 ± 2.1, P < 0.05), and body fat (%)(-1.5 ± 1.9, P < 0.05)] as well as macronutrient intake [total energy intake (kcal) (-563.7 ± 656.8, P < 0.05), energy (%) (-26.5 ± 30.0, P < 0.05) and fat (g) (-28.3 ± 40.6, P < 0.05)] in the adherent group than the non-adherent group. The SOC was higher in both groups after the intervention (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Our results highlight the positive effects of an evidence-based approach as a multidisciplinary intervention for people-centered nutritional care and weight management.
This paper aim to propose and suggest for government to reinvent and re-steering the policy on the 4th industrial revolution in Korea. To do it, this paper annalize the advanced country's policies and hard-data sets from many international research institutes. So this paper emphasized the concept and frame of socio-technical system approach by Geels. According to this approach, this paper can get a conclusion that Korea government has to focus on the roles to solve the big social dilemma with high-tech tools from the 4th industrial revolution. And this paper point out the necessary of increasing the diversity and multidisciplinary in 4th industrial revolution policy of Korean government. These findings of this paper recommend for Korea to redesigns the governance mechanism and legislation platform and to design the future readiness.
This paper deals with the resonant type of a WEC (wave energy converter) and the determination method of its geometric parameters which were obtained to construct the robust and optimal structure, respectively. In detail, the optimization problem is formulated with the constraints composed of the response surfaces which stand for the resonance period(heave, pitch) and the meta center height of the buoy. Use of a signal-to-noise ratio calculated from normalized multi-objective results with the weight factor can help to select the robust design level. In order to get the sample data set, the motion responses of the power buoy were analyzed using the BEM (boundary element method)-based commercial code. Also, the optimization result is compared with a robust design for a feasibility study. Finally, the power efficiency of the WEC with the optimum design variables is estimated as the captured wave ratio resulting from absorbed power which mainly related to PTO (power take off) damping. It could be said that the resultant of the WEC design is the economical optimal design which satisfy the given constraints.
This paper analyzes the discrimination of private property right protection in urban regeneration projects that is implemented by eminent domain based on public use in the United States. In spite of urban regeneration projects which depends on property condemnation for public use as a coercive power, it is executed on the discrimination of property right and sacrifice of the social disadvantages that transfer property from these private party to another big capitals and private developers. At first this paper investigates research trends in urban regeneration within the framework of multidisciplinary approach and suggests legal geographical perspective as a new research field. Next I figure out current state, types and numbers of brownfields site with the EPA and GAO data, and define these sites as results of deindustrialization and suburbanization process. Finally this paper uncover that the discrimination process of private property right is due to complex actions of expansion of public use concept in the U.S. Supreme Court from public ownership to economic public use, privatization of eminent domain, growth coalition regime and business friendly policy focused on economic development, class and racial bias, neoliberal movements of property right reform.
Objectives: This study aims to examine the trends of mobile-health research in terms of community participation. Methods: A set of 24 peer-reviewed articles were identified for review. Two authors independently reviewed the articles using a literature review matrix and reexamined as a team. Review categories include: general characteristics, research methods, levels and ranges of community participation, and research topics. Results: Most of the articles were published in 2013-2014, including one domestic paper. Multidisciplinary approaches were used in 65% of the studies. Community participation was at low or mid-levels of Arnstein's participation model. In mobile-health research so far, the level of participation tends to improve as more diverse stakeholders participate in health promotion initiatives with mobile-health. The review yielded five types of mobile-health research for community health promotion: improving the quality of primary healthcare through the community health workers' capacity enhancement; improving the data collection capabilities; facilitating exchanges of community information and resources; reinforcing community identity; and monitoring physical environment of the communities. Conclusions: Although at an early stage of research development, application of mobile-health to community health promotion via participation has a potential. Multi-disciplinary approaches should be fostered for further development.
Purpose: Anorectal malformations are often associated with other anomalies, reporting frequency with 40-70%. Gastrointestinal anomalies have been known to be relatively less common than associated anomalies of other organ system. This study was performed to assess a distinctive feature of cases associated with esophageal atresia. Methods: Clinical data (from January 2000 through December 2011) on the 196 subjects with anorectal malformations, managed in our Hospital, were reviewed. Total 14 neonates were identified with accompanying esophageal atresia and retrospective analysis was conducted. Results: The incidence was 7.1% and there were 8 male and 6 female subjects. Only 2 cases were associated with esophageal atresia without tracheoesophageal fistula. Although variable cases of anorectal malformation in female subjects, almost cases were anorectal malformations with rectourethral fistula in male. Other associated anomalies were identified in all cases, with more than 3 anomalies in 10 cases. There were 4 VACTERL (Vertebral abnormalities, Anal atresia, Cardiac anomalies, Tracheoesophageal fistula, Esophageal atresia, Renal and Limb anomalies) associations accounting for 28.6%, but could not identify chromosomal anomaly. Most cases were managed with staged procedure, usually primary repair of esophageal atresia and diverting colostomy. Overall mortality rate was 21.4%, mainly caused by heart problems. Conclusion: This study shows that early diagnosis and rational surgical approach with multidisciplinary plan are mandatory in managing anorectal malformations with esophageal atresia, when considering a high frequency of associated anomaly and a relative high mortality.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the published research in the Journal of Muscle and Joint Health and to suggest the future perspectives. Methods: In this study, we reviewed the contents of 195 articles published in this journal from the first issue of the year 1994 to 2007. Results: The majority of subjects were adult, mostly with arthritis. The position of the authors was mostly professor (73.3%). Most of studies did not clearly describe about ethical consideration. The data collection was mostly conducted in the hospital (53.8%) or community (36.9%), with the questionnaire (62.6%). The types of research design were correlational study (36.4%), experimental study (31.8%), survey (18.5%), and qualitative research (4.6%). Physical variables included pain, fatigue, activities of daily living, joint flexibility, muscle strength, etc., psychosocial variables were measured by self-efficacy, depression, quality of life, etc., and cognitive variables by knowledge, education, etc. The most utilized nursing intervention for experimental study were exercise, self-help, and education. Conclusion: Further research is needed to extend the target population research design from multidisciplinary perspectives.

Background: Soft-tissue sarcomas require tailored and multidisciplinary treatment and management. However, little is known about how sarcomas are treated and managed throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Materials and Methods: MEDLINE was systematically searched using prespecified criteria. Publications (previous 10 years) that reported tumour characteristics, treatment patterns, survival outcomes, and/or safety outcomes of patients with soft-tissue sarcoma were selected. Exclusion criteria were studies of patients <18 years of age; ${\leq}10$ patients; countries other than Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, or Thailand; >20% benign tumours; sarcomas located in bones or joints; gastrointestinal stromal tumour; Kaposi's sarcoma; or not reporting relevant outcomes. Results: Of the 1,822 publications retrieved, 35 (32 studies) were included. Nearly all patients (98%, 1,992/2,024; 31 studies) were treated with surgery, and more studies used adjuvant radiotherapy than chemotherapy (24 vs 17 studies). Survival outcomes and recurrence rates varied among the studies because of the different histotypes, sites, and disease stages assessed. Only 5 studies reported safety findings. Conclusions: These findings highlight the lack of specific data available about soft-tissue sarcomas in the Asia-Pacific region. Better efforts to understand how the sarcoma is managed and treated will help improve patient outcomes in the region.
