The purpose of this study was to design a development frame for multicultural science program and develop a corresponding program using the frame. This study organized a development frame to design a multicultural science education program based on the culturally responsive teaching theory. This development frame consisted of the elements of purpose, teaching examples, teaching and learning methods, and assessment. This program consisted of the guideline for class teaching courses, reading materials, student worksheet, and teachers' reference materials. Based on this development frame, a multicultural science education program was developed, which was comprised of seven activities for elementary and middle school students. Each activity of the program included the concept and inquiry related to science education. In particular, by connecting the concept of science with the cultural characteristics of various countries, the activity made students aware of cultural diversity and the commonness of science principles. Compared to other subjects, the science education field has not actively undertaken studies on multicultural education. In term of dealing with universal principles, science education is suitable for making students aware of commonness. Accordingly, this gives rise to the need to draw cultural characteristics based on basic studies such as the analysis of science textbooks in various countries and develop culturally responsive programs utilizing the outcomes.

우리 사회의 소중한 자산이 될 다문화 학생들을 위한 과학 교육적 배려를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 본 연구가 기획되었다. 다문화 학생들이 생각하고 있는 과학 학습을 파악하여 그들의 상황을 이해하고 과학 교육 차원에서 배려하고 지원하는 방향을 고민함으로써 그들을 고려한 과학 교육계의 관심을 불러일으키고자 한다. 이를 위해 다문화 가정 초등 및 중등 학생과 학부모, 그리고 다문화 학생들을 가르치고 있는 초등 교사 및 중등 과학 교사들을 대상으로 집단 면담을 실시했다. 면담을 통해 다문화 학생들의 과학 교육에 있어서 무엇보다도 언어적 지원이 필요하다는 점을 발견했다. 이 밖에도 다문화 학생들을 바라보는 교사와 친구들의 기대치가 낮다는 점도 알았다. 우리 상황에 맞는 다문화 과학 교육의 내용과 방법, 그리고 학교 차원의 제도적 지원을 통해 모든 사람을 위한 과학적 소양을 실천해야 할 것이다.

이 연구는 다문화가정의 자녀교육문제를 중심으로 정보요구의 세부 내용을 고찰하여 이를 지원하는 공공도서관프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 다문화가정 학부모를 대상으로 심층면담을 통해 자녀교육 관련 경험 및 요구에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 다문화가정의 자녀교육 관련 요구는 1) 한국 학교의 교육체계 및 상황에 대한 이해 부족, 2) 자녀의 언어 및 학습에 대한 요구, 3) 자녀의 이중언어교육 관련 요구, 4) 학부모 역할 수행을 위한 교육 정보, 5) 자녀에 대한 편견과 차별 우려, 6) 도서관에 대한 인식과 경험 지원이라는 6가지 유형으로 확인되었다. 이를 바탕으로 다문화가정 자녀의 교육지원을 위한 도서관프로그램과 운영방안을 1) 자녀교육을 위한 부모 역할, 2) 자녀의 학습, 3) 자녀의 언어교육, 4) 다문화이해교육, 5) 도서관이용교육과 안내 영역을 중심으로 제안하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 다문화환경에서 사서들의 다문화 업무에 관한 역량강화에 기여하고자 사서 대상 다문화 교육과정의 교과목을 선정, 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 3단계 분석과정을 거쳤는데, 첫째, 도서관 다문화서비스에 관련된 보고서 및 통계에 기반한 국내 다문화 환경분석을 수행하였다. 둘째, 이주민 대상으로는 도서관 다문화서비스에 대한 요구분석을 실시하였고, 사서대상으로는 다문화업무와 관련된 요구분석 및 다문화관련 교과과정을 수강한 사서들의 수업 만족도를 분석하였다. 셋째, 다문화와 관련된 국내외 지침과 법규, 다문화서비스 가이드라인에 나타난 도서관 다문화서비스 직무역량을 분석하였다. 이 3단계 분석과정을 통해 사서 대상 다문화교육에 필요한 후보 교과목 내용과 교육범위를 도출하였다. 도출된 후보 교과내용과 범위에 대해 도서관 다문화서비스 전문가들의 자문을 거쳐 최종적으로 16개의 교과목 내용과 범위를 도출하여 제시하였고, 도출된 교육과정을 어떻게 구체적으로 운영해 나갈 것인지에 대한 내용은 후속연구 과제로 제안하였다.

이 연구의 목적은 유아교사들의 다문화인식과 다문화태도가 다문화효능감에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇인지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 I시에 소재한 유아교육기관에 근무하고 있는 유아교사 394명을 대상으로 질문지를 사용하여 실시하였다. 응답결과에 대하여 첫째, 유아교사들의 다문화인식, 다문화태도, 다문화효능감이 근무지별에 따라 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 유아교사들의 다문화인식, 다문화효능감에서 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아교사들의 다문화인식과 다문화태도가 다문화효능감에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과로 볼 때, 다문화교육에 대한 유아교사들의 인식과 태도가 변화되어야 다문화효능감은 향상될 수 있으므로, 유아교사들을 위하여 다문화교육 연수프로그램 등을 지속적으로 실시할 수 있는 다양한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of a multicultural education program on nursing students' cultural competence, empathy, and self-efficacy. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, the participants were assigned to an experimental group (n=40) or a control group (n=40). The data were analyzed using independent t-test, Chi-square or Fisher's exact test, and paired t-test with the SPSS windows 18.0 program. Results: After receiving the multicultural education program, the levels of cultural competence and self-efficacy in the experimental group were higher than in the control group. The level of empathy increased slightly in the experimental group while it decreased in the control group. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that multicultural education is effective in raising the level of cultural competence and self-efficacy in nursing students. Thus, there is a need for continuous effort to integrate multicultural education programs in the nursing curriculum. Repeated study to test effects of these multicultural education programs should be also necessary.

Background: Multicultural families are constantly on the rise as marriage migrants and foreign workers increase. Multicultural families appear to record poor health levels compared to native families. As health is a social issue, children of surviving generations of multicultural families are also a growing interest. This study was conducted to confirm the effect of multicultural families and parents' educational level on the scaling experience of children. Methods: For this study, the 2016~2018 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey data were used. In order to make the two groups of adolescents belonging to multicultural and native families similar, a total of 5,362 people were included in the survey, consisting of 2,681 individuals each from multicultural and native families using the propensity score matching method. Logistic analysis was performed to identify factors influencing the scaling experience of adolescent children. Results: The results confirm that, even after controlling for factors such as parents' educational level, household income, and children's oral health behavior, parents' nationality appeared to have a statistically significant effect on their children's scaling experience. In addition, it was confirmed that the experience of oral health education had a significant effect. Conclusion: Cultural heterogeneity and the lack of adequate language ability of immigrants affects health behavior and medical accessibility. Therefore, children from multicultural families are more likely to be exposed to unhealthy environments compared to the children of native Korean families. Based on an understanding of the socioeconomic multicultural background of individuals, education and public policy should be prepared to improve the awareness for the need for preventive oral health and provide unhindered accessibility to dental services.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 문화적 역량과 다문화 교육 요구도를 파악하기 위한 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 3년제 간호과 재학생 총 278명이다. 자료수집은 2012년 11월 19일부터 30일까지였으며 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 12.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, t-test와 ANOVA, 피어슨 상관계수를 이용하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 간호대학생의 문화적 역량은 5점 만점에 평균평점은 2.8점으로 하위영역별로는 문화적 인식 3.0점, 문화적 수용 2.8점, 문화적 지식 2.5점이며, 다문화 교육 요구도는 3.9점이다. 둘째, 문화적 역량은 다문화 강의 수강 경험유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화 교육 요구도는 다문화 교육의 필요성에 있어 유의한 차이를 나타났다. 넷째, 문화적 역량과 다문화 교육 요구도간에는 통계적으로 유의한 정 상관관계가 나타났다. 본 연구결과로 간호대학생의 문화적 역량수준은 낮은 수준이며 다문화 교육 요구도는 높은 수준으로 간호대학생들이 임상현장에서 다문화 간호대상자를 위해 문화적 역량을 발휘할 수 있기 위해서는 간호교육과정에서 다문화 역량교육 프로그램을 운영해나가야 할 것이다.

다문화 서비스를 제공하는 도서관이 늘어나는 상황에서 서비스 주체인 사서들을 대상으로 다문화 서비스 교육의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 최근에 도출된 사서 대상 다문화 교육과정 교과목들의 토대 위에서 국립중앙도서관의 도서관 다문화서비스 교육과정을 체계적으로 재구조화할 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 관련 문헌들을 조사하였고, 다문화 전문가와 도서관 전문가, 교육학 교수 등과의 면담을 통해 자문을 진행하였다. 자문과정에서는 연구진이 도출한 사서 대상 다문화 교육과정의 운영방안과 세부 교과목별 강의내용, 강의방법, 강의시간, 연구진이 제시한 교육과정의 개발 및 운영방안에 대한 의견을 수렴하여 그 결과를 최종 교육과정 개발안에 반영하였다. 그 결과, "다문화 감수성과 전문서비스 역량을 가진 도서관 사서 양성"이라는 교육목적 하에 교육 주기와 교육내용을 달리한 총 4개의 교육모델과 교육 단계에 맞춘 다양한 평가 방식을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 향후 교육운영자는 국내 사서들의 다문화 교육 수요에 맞게 탄력적으로 운영할 수 있고, 교육과정의 효과를 제고할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygienists in public health center towards multicultural family and educational needs to provide information on community oral health programs. Methods : The subjects were 74 recruited from 126 dental hygienists in 14 public dental clinics in Jeonbuk Province. A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 64 dental hygienists in charge of dental health care. Data were anlatzed by the statistical package SPSS WIN 12.0. Results : The characteristics of the subjects had no impact on their positive multicultural awareness, and there existed differences by age, rank and period of services in the channel of information acquisition. They got 3.5 out of five in multicultural awareness showing a positive way. The types of medical services for multicultural family revealed that they provided oral health education, dental checkup services and simple treatment covered by health insurance. Health insurance accounted for 15.4 percent of dental services. The obstacles to dental services in multicultural family were communication problems, poor concern for oral health and cultural gaps. They got 3.86 out of five points in educational needs for multicultural family who need the dental education most. The multicultural family showed the higher score in every question. Conclusions : Public health center dental clinics should help dental hygienists to acquire information on multicultural family. Public health center should provide the easy access way of dental health checkup for the multicultural family.
