Implementation of Efficient Mobile Monitoring System of the GreenHouse Environment Data (온실 환경 데이터의 효과적인 모바일 모니터링 시스템 구현)

  • A monitoring system needs many parameters to increase devices for monitoring data and to support various services. In particular, monitoring the status of a device in a wireless mobile environment has a difficulty in displaying multi data in a limited screen size, and transfer of the status data of a device into a network is largely related with network traffic. The research aims at designing a control board that collects data in order to effectively manage a greenhouse environment system. Also, the research tries to appropriately operate devices, environment data monitoring, and the control of each device by realizing a multiplexed interface based on a web. Thus, in the case in which a distributed client was a computer, monitoring and control were obtained with a web browser through the Lab VIEW web server of a server or local control module in order to effectively monitor and control according to the status of a user. In the case in which a client was a PDA, application of a wireless mobile considering the scale and data processing capacity of a displayer was connected. As a result of the research, we could confirm a satisfactory outcome from the viewpoint of a human-centered design by supplying adaptability and mobility according to the environment of a user.

A Data Model for an Object-based Faceted Thesaurus System Supporting Multiple Dimensions of View in a Visualized Environment (시각화된 환경에서 다차원 관점을 지원하는 객체기반 패싯 시소러스 관리 시스템 모델의 정형화 및 구현)

  • In this paper we propose a formal data model of an object-based thesaurus system supporting multi-dimensional facets. According to facets reflecting on respective user perspectives, it supports systematic construction, browsing, navigating and referencing of thesauri. Unlike other faceted thesaurus systems, it systematically manages its complexity by appropriately ing sophisticated conceptual structure through visualized browsing and navigation as well as construction. The browsing and navigation is performed by dynamically generating multi-dimensional virtual thesaurus hierarchies called "faceted thesaurus hierarchies." The hierarchies are automatically constructed by combining facets, each representing a dimension of view. Such automatic construction may make it possible the flexible extension of thesauri for they can be easily upgraded by pure insertion or deletion of facets. With a well defined set of self-referential queries, the thesauri can also be effectively referenced from multiple view points since they are structured by appropriately interpreting the semantics of instances based on facets. In this paper, we first formalize the underlying model and then implement its prototype to demonstrate its feasibility.

An Analytical Study on Performance Factors of Automatic Classification based on Machine Learning (기계학습에 기초한 자동분류의 성능 요소에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined the factors affecting the performance of automatic classification for the domestic conference papers based on machine learning techniques. In particular, In view of the classification performance that assigning automatically the class labels to the papers in Proceedings of the Conference of Korean Society for Information Management using Rocchio algorithm, I investigated the characteristics of the key factors (classifier formation methods, training set size, weighting schemes, label assigning methods) through the diversified experiments. Consequently, It is more effective that apply proper parameters (${\beta}$, ${\lambda}$) and training set size (more than 5 years) according to the classification environments and properties of the document set. and If the performance is equivalent, I discovered that the use of the more simple methods (single weighting schemes) is very efficient. Also, because the classification of domestic papers is corresponding with multi-label classification which assigning more than one label to an article, it is necessary to develop the optimum classification model based on the characteristics of the key factors in consideration of this environment.

  • In this study, we propose a consensus-building support system to engage various stakeholders, transparently disseminate information, ensure objective decision-making, and reflect the view of each stakeholder as a methodology or tool for resolving conflicts that may arise in the process of implementing water environment policies and plans. The system suggests ways to resolve issues by engaging all interested actors and not just a few influential groups of stakeholders imposing their solutions upon local users. The system provides an environment where stakeholders can find solutions to conflicts through their own efforts, mediating competing interests through the interactions such as negotiations and conciliation to reach a consensus. To verify the applicability of the proposed consensus-building support system, simulated role-playing albeit restricted was conducted on the case of the Hantangang Dam construction. The simulation validated that open discussions and negotiations with the local community or NGO by the government increased the efficacy of negotiations.

  • The tactical operation centers of future anti-aircraft missile systems provide the environment for the research on future air threats, tactical information, integrated battlefield environment creation and management, engagement control and command and control algorithms. To develop the key functional elements of integrated battlefield situation creation and processing and tactical operation automation processing operations, battery/battalion tactical operation control and reconfiguration design software are required. Therefore, the algorithm software of each function and the tactical operation display software and link software for interworking between equipment were developed as reconfigurable through a data-centric design. In this paper, a tactical operation display framework that can be reconfigured on the operation display of the tactical operations according to the battery/battalion is introduced. This tactical operation display framework was used to develop a common data model design for the reconfigurable structure of multi-role tactical operations with battery / battalion and mission views, and a display configuration tool that provides a tactical operation display framework for view development was also developed using the MVC pattern. If the tactical operation display framework is used, it will be possible to reuse the view design through the common base structure, and a view that can be reconfigured easily and quickly will also be developed.

Rural Resident′s Community Life Satisfaction and Consciousness of Rural Community (농촌주민의 지역사회 만족도와 지역공동체 의식)

  • The objective of this study was to analyze the evaluation of the rural resident's on their community at view of community life satisfaction. The specific purposes of this study were to identify the degrees of community life satisfaction, consciousness of rural community according to the individual variables. The data were gathered from 1,870 rural residents by the structured interview in the 187 communities sampled by multi-staged cluster stratified sampling method in November, 2003. The major findings of this study were as follows; first, the degree of the rural residents'community life satisfaction was generally low, especially the rural residents were dissatisfied with the opportunities of leisure and education environment in their communities, and by half were satisfied with housing environment. Second, as consciousness of rural community, the degree of rural resident's joining at community meeting was high, and openness to the outside residents' was high. third, the most important factor for consciousness of rural community were community organization, good neighbor. As result of this study, the following conclusion and recommend can be drawn. First, the level of rural resident's community life satisfaction is overall low. Especially it is needed policy efforts and priority investment for advancing satisfaction on leisure and education environment in rural community. Second, to foster rural resident's community consciousness, community orgaruzatlon Is first of all supported and activated. Through viability of these community organization, rural resident's participation in community welfare will be enhanced

The Ground Checkout Test of OSMI(Ocean Scanning Multispectral Imager) on KOMPSAT-1

  • Ocean Scanning Multispectral Imager (OSMI) is a payload on the KOMPSAT satellite to perform worldwide ocean color monitoring for the study of biological oceanography. The instrument images the ocean surface using a wisk-broom motion with a swath width of 800 km and a ground sample distance (GSD) of<1km over the entire field of view (FOV). The instrument is designed to have an on-orbit operation duty cycle of 20% over the mission lifetime of 3 years with the functions of programmable gain/offset and on-board image data compression/storage. The instrument also performs sun and dark calibration for on-board instrument calibration. The OSMI instrument is a multi-spectral imager covering the spectral range from 400nm to 900nm using CCD Focal Plane Array (FPA). The ocean colors are monitored using 6 spectral channels that can be selected via ground commands. KOMPSAT satellite with OSMI was integrated and the satellite level environment tests and instrument aliveness/functional test as well, such as launch environment, on-orbit environment (Thermal/vacuum) and EMl/EMC test were performed at KARI. Test results met the requirements and the OSMI data were collected and analyzed during each test phase. The instrument is launched on the KOMPSAT satellite in the late 1999 and the image is scheduled to start collecting ocean color data in the early 2000 upon completion of on-orbit instrument checkout.

  • This paper describes a procedure of the map-based localization for mobile robots by using a sensor fusion technique in structured environments. A combination of various sensors with different characteristics and limited sensibility has advantages in view of complementariness and cooperation to obtain better information on the environment. In this paper, for robust self-localization of a mobile robot with a monocular camera and a laser structured light sensor, environment information acquired from two sensors is combined and fused by a Bayesian sensor fusion technique based on the probabilistic reliability function of each sensor predefined through experiments. For the self-localization using the monocular vision, the robot utilizes image features consisting of vertical edge lines from input camera images, and they are used as natural landmark points in self-localization process. However, in case of using the laser structured light sensor, it utilizes geometrical features composed of corners and planes as natural landmark shapes during this process, which are extracted from range data at a constant height from the navigation floor. Although only each feature group of them is sometimes useful to localize mobile robots, all features from the two sensors are simultaneously used and fused in term of information for reliable localization under various environment conditions. To verify the advantage of using multi-sensor fusion, a series of experiments are performed, and experimental results are discussed in detail.

Higher-order Factor Structure of Consumer Dissatisfaction with Clothing -Off-line Purchase and Usage- (의복 불만족의 고차요인구조 -오프라인 의복구매 및 사용-)

  • This study investigates the ultimate factor structure of consumer dissatisfaction with the off-line purchase and usage of clothing. It identifies the determinant dimensions of consumer dissatisfaction on clothing purchase and usage and investigates the hierarchical structure of consumer dissatisfaction by assessing and comparing the effectiveness of five alternative factor structure models. A total of 300 women were online-surveyed to assess the level of dissatisfaction based on their dissatisfying experience with clothing purchases and usage in terms of product quality, price, salesperson's attitude, and store environment. The exploratory factor analysis identified the underlying dimensions of dissatisfaction: Handling, Aesthetics, Salesperson, Size, Price, Product Quality, Service, and Environment. By employing a first-order confirmatory factor analysis and higher-order confirmatory factor analysis, consumer dissatisfaction was confirmed to have a hierarchical structure with three second-order constructs Intrinsic instrument is manifested by handling, quality, and size, Intrinsic expression consists of service, salesperson, and environment, and Extrinsic circumstance contains aesthetics and price. On empirically demonstrating the multi-dimensional constructs of consumer dissatisfaction by identifying its hierarchical structure, the study provides the theoretical and practical insights to comprehend consumer purchase and post-purchase behavior. Specifically, it affords an empirical platform to extend the scope of research with condensed concepts of dissatisfaction to researchers. In addition, it also enables marketers to take a broader view of consumer dissatisfaction by providing cues about potential problems and identifying the source of those problems.
