The Simple Harmonic Analysis Method of the Multi-Carrier PWM Techniques by Using the Output Phase Voltage in the Multi-Level Inverter (출력 상전압을 이용한 멀티-캐리어 PWM 기법의 간단한 고조파 분석 방법)

  • This paper deals with a simple method in order to analyze and compare the harmonic characteristics in the multi-level inverter. Generally, the magnitude of harmonic components becomes different according to the multi-carrier Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) techniques, the modulation index($M_i$) and the switching frequency The previous papers analyzed the harmonic characteristics from the viewpoint of the space voltage vector. Hence, the calculation of the harmonic vector becomes more difficult and complex in 4-level or over 5-level. However, the proposed method has reduced an amount of calculation and simplified the process of it, using the relationship between the reference voltage and the output phase voltage to the load neutral point. It is applied to the 5-level cascade inverter and the harmonic characteristics for each multi-carrier PWM technique are compared through the simulation.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the correlation properties and the optimization of PN sequence phase for multi-media DS/CDMA system with variable spreading gain (VSG) scheme. In multi-media multi-rate DS/CDMA systems, the optimization of PN sequence phase is not a tractable problem, since the sequences should be optimized against both sequences of the same length and other sequences with different length. Hence, we verify the correlation properties of PN sequence phase in multi-rate system environment and furthermore, we propose the new phase criterion, MIN-AIP (minimum-average interference parameter), to minimize the bit error rate (BER). As the results of performance evaluations, it is shown that the performance of MIN-AIP criteria gives the best results.

Study on the Luminescence Properties according to ZnS multi-phase (ZnS multi-phase에 따른 발광특성 연구)

  • The crystal structure of ZnS fabricated by gas-liquid phase reaction was refined by the Rietveld program using X-ray diffraction data. The R-weighted pattern (R$\sub$wp/) of ZnS powder was 10.85%. The fraction of HCP phase was closely related with extra amount of H$_2$S gas. The lattice parameters and crystalline size were changed by the relative ratio of multi-phase. The luminescence property of ZnS:Cu, Al green phosphors prepared by conventional methods was good in the range of 91∼94% and 150∼190${\AA}$, respectively. According to the maximum entropy electron density(MEED) methods, any defects in (001) plane of cubic phase were not found. We suggest that both the Rietveld and maximum entropy density methods may be useful tools for studying luminescence mechanism of other phosphors materials.

  • In this paper, we propose closures for multi-phase flow models, which satisfy boundary conditions and conservation constraints. The models governing the evolution of the fluid mixing are derived by applying an ensemble averaging procedure to the microphysical equations characterized by distinct phases. We consider compressible multi species multi-phase flow with surface tension and transport.

  • Multi-wavelength holography has a better axial range than single-wavelength holography, thus allowing unambiguous phase imaging. Noise amplification is the limiting factor in multi-wavelength holography as noise is amplified by a factor equivalent to the magnification of the wavelengths. Here, we propose a new algorithm to remove noise amplification in multi-wavelength holography. The proposed method does not use phase unwrapping and removes $2{\pi}$ ambiguities. Experiments and numerical simulations indicated that the proposed method is fast, has low noise, and is useful for measuring samples with arbitrary step heights.

  • In this paper, the differential detection technique of multi-h CPM is introduced and described. We derived the sets of modulation index of multi-h phase codes adequate to the differential detection. The power spectra of multi-h signals with various sets of modulation index are presented and compared to those of MSK and QPSK. Error rate performances of the conventional detector and Viterbi algorithm detector of 2-h and 3-h CPM are evaluated and compared.

  • This paper investigates a lightning multi-phase flashover on extra high voltage transmission line, which has influence on power systems very much, by the use of ATP. Especially we validated an arcing horn model represented by the nonlinear inductance and resistance which is the most important on the simulation for a multi-phase flashover. We also study relationships between lightning parameters and flashover phases in 765(㎸) double circuit transmission system.

  • Generation system using regenerative energy like photovoltaic, fuelcell is increased, PCS technology coming into the spotlight. The efficiency of DC-DC converter as part of the PCS is very important, multi-phase boost converter has more advantage than other topology. Input current of the multi-phase boost converter is divided into two inductor current because of parallel structure of the boost converters, thus it has features of decreasing input current ripple and output voltage ripple. Also multi-phase boost converter with soft switching can decrease switching loss using ZCS and ZVS. In this paper, simulation and experiment are performed to verify operation of the proposed converter, and efficiencies of the conventional and proposed converter are compared.

  • This paper represents a design and implementation of a digital controller for a multi-phase synchronous buck converter (SBC) using a digital signal processor (DSP). The multi-phase SBC has generally been used for a voltage regulation module (VRM) of a microprocessor because of its high current handling capability at a low output voltage. The VRM requires high control performance of tight output regulation, high slew rate, and load sharing capability of multiple converters. In order to achieve these requirements, the design and implementation of a digital control system for a multi-phase SBC are presented in this paper. The digital PWM generation, current sensing, and voltage and current controller using a DSP TMS320F2812 are considered. The experimental results are provided to show the validity of the implemented digital control system.

  • Electrical impedance(EIT) for the multi-phase flow visualization is an imaging modality in which the resistivity distribution of the unknown object is estimated based on the known sets of injected currents and measured voltages on the surface of the object. In this paper, an EIT reconstruction algorithm based on the extended Kalman filter(EKF) is proposed. The EIT reconstruction problem is formulated as a dynamic model which is composed of the state equation and the observation equation, and the unknown resistivity distribution is estimated recursively with the aid of the EKF. To verify the reconstruction performance of the proposed algorithm, experiments with simulated multi-phase flow are performed.
