  • The stiffness of multi-articulated industrial robots is very weak, because their structure is an articulated type with some links and joints. Thus it is known that cutting processes for metals are not accepted in machine shop well, but they have a lot of merits for cutting processes, for example. drilling, tapping. and engraving etc., because of the characteristics of their high degree of freedom. The temptation of cutting aluminium was carried out to investigate the feasibility and the limitations or constrains for cutting metals on them. First the mode shapes of 6-axes FANUC welding robot were taken and analysed, and next the cutting processes were practically carried out on it. The results of study were found out to show the feasibility of cutting processes at end-milling under 6mm of tool diameter. as well as to have some limitations and constrains, for examples, surface roughness and feed rate, depth of cut, cutting force etc..

  • This study aims to develop efficient composite laminates for buckling load enhancement, interlaminar shear stress minimization, and weight reduction. This goal is achieved through cover-skin lay-ups around skins and stiffeners, which amplify bending stiffness and defer delamination by means of effective stress distribution. The design problem is formulated as multi-objective optimization that maximizes buckling load capability while minimizing both maximum out-of-plane shear stress and panel weight. For efficient optimization, response surface methodology is employed for buckling load, two out-of-plane shear stresses, and panel weight with respect to one ply thickness, six fiber orientations of a skin, and four stiffener heights. Numerical results show that skin-covered composite stiffened panels can be devised for maximum buckling load and minimum interlaminar shear stresses under compressive load. In addition, the effects of different material properties are investigated and compared. The obtained results reveal that the composite stiffened panel with Kevlar material is the most effective design.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out factors affecting patient moving to receive medical service. This study is analyzed by multi-level model with patient and hospital level by using SAS 9.3. Total number of patients is 600,000 persons for inpatients and 550,000 patients for outpatients. The degree of the factors, which is combined with personnel factor and hospital factor, can be analyzed by Intra-Class Correlation (ICC). The percentage of group(hospital) level variance of the total variance for out-bound moving case are 30.6% at inpatients, and 28.3% at outpatients. And the percentage of hospital level variance of the total variance for moving distance, are 26.7%, 32,5% respectively. Conclusionally, although the main factor of moving is patient level, hospital is also very important factor to make decision to go out-bound. It contributed to about 1/3 for hospital choice. And, when the one make decision, he will consider the hospital type, number of bed, and training institute in hospital level. Through this study to find out hospital factors affecting patient moving for medical service, it must be continued to find out which factors have more influence to choice the hospital among disease type after this.

  • In this paper. a heuristic multi-thresholding algorithm is proposed to extract objects from background. Specifically the proposed algorithm finds out multi valleys from gray level histogram automatically and non-recursively. Some experimental result for various types of image. are presented, to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • The purpose of this study is in analyzing factors related to a teacher's nursery efficacy. In order to achieve its purpose, a study includes investigation about levels of 748 teachers' interest and knowledge in a child nursery from multi-cultural families, teachers' efforts for understanding the children from multi-cultural families, availability of experience with a child care from multi-cultural families, a teacher's multi-cultural nursery efficacy and general nursery efficacy. As a result of investigation, a study found out that 4 factors (interest, knowledge, efforts, and experience) are related to nursery efficacy and the fact that a teacher's general nursery efficacy is highly associated with multi-cultural nursery efficacy. For this result, providing information about a child care from multi-cultural families and supporting general nursery efficacy play a critical role in supporting teachers' competency about a child care from multi-cultural families.

  • A system with $n$ components which functions when at least ${\kappa}$ of the components function is called ${\kappa}$-out-of-$n$ system. Most studies on ${\kappa}$-out-of-$n$ system derive the system reliability based on the assumption that the system has just two states: functioning or failed. However, the system efficiency may depend on the number of functioning components. This paper considers a Multi-state ${\kappa}$-out-of-$n$ system and derives the total system efficiency. In addition, assuming that the system is repairable, the optimal repair policy to maximize the system efficiency is studied. The system efficiency considered in this paper can be regarded as a generalized measure of the mean time to the failure of the system.

  • This study reveals the thin sheet metal process with multi-forming die that the name is progressive die, as a pilotless type, also high precision production part is made. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, i.e. theory and practice of metal press working and its phenomena die structure, machining condition for die making, die material, heat treatment of die components, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and constructed a multi-forming progressive die as a bending and drawing working of multi-stage and performed through the try out for thin sheet metal. Out of the characteristics of this paper that nothing might be ever seen before such as this type of research method on the all of processes of thin and high precision production part.

  • This paper makes an attempt to compare the two important methods for finding solutions of multi-item inventory problem with more than one conflicting objectives. Panda et al.[9] discusses a distance-based method to find the best possible compromise solution with variation of priority under the given weight structure. In this paper, the problem in [9] is revisited through the Pareto-optimal front of genetic algorithm with the help of a situation of retail stocking of FMCG business. The advantages of using the solutions from the perspective of the decision maker obtained through multi-objective optimization are highlighted in terms of population search, weighted goals and priority structure, cost, set of compromise solutions along with prevention of stock-out situation.

  • To build a high precision machine tool and increase its productivity, structural analysis needs to be carried out for vibration and stiffness of the machine tools before any detailed design. Therefore, in this paper, static and dynamic analysis is carried out to evaluate 8-axis multi tasking machining beds for automotive power train shafts; then, selection of an appropriate device is made for application to bed design. The results of structural and modal analysis confirmed the structural characteristics of the 8-axis multi tasking machine for automotive power train shaft beds: and the second shape bed is the safest is considered secure.

  • A Crankshaft multi grinding machine is developed for manufacturing of high precision crankshaft. The grinding head part of the developed machine should be moved precisely during grinding of work materials. In this paper, structural and modal analysis for the crankshaft multi grinding machine is carried out to check the design criteria of the machine. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using the commercial software. The machine is modeled by placing proper shell and solid finite elements. The results of structural and modal analysis confirmed that the structural characteristics of grinding machine and the structural safety are considered secure.
