마이크로파대 광대역 다단 전력분배기의 설계방법과 구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Structure of A Microwave Broadband Multi-Section Power Divider)

  • A novel multi-section power divider configuration is proposed to obtain wide-band frequency performance up to microwave frequency region. Design procedures for the proposed microwave broadband power divider are composed of a planar multi-section three-ports hybrid and a waveguide transformer design procedures. The multi-section power divider is based on design theory of the optimum quarter-wave transformer. Furthermore, in order to obtain the broadband isolation performance between the two adjacent output ports, the odd mode equivalent circuit should be matched by using the lossy element such as resistor. The derived design formula for calculating these odd mode matching elements is based on the singly terminated filter design theory. The waveguide transformer section is designed to suppress the propagation of the higher order modes such as waveguide modes due to employing the metallic electric wall. Simulation and experiment show excellent performance of multi section power divider.

A hybrid algorithm based on EEMD and EMD for multi-mode signal processing

  • This paper presents an efficient version of Hilbert-Huang transform for nonlinear non-stationary systems analyses. An ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) is introduced to alleviate the problem of mode mixing between intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) decomposed by EMD. Yet the problem has not been fully resolved when a signal of a similar scale resides in different IMF components. Instead of using a trial and error method to select the "best" outcome generated by EEMD, a hybrid algorithm based on EEMD and EMD is proposed for multi-mode signal processing. The developed approach comprises the steps from a bandpass filter design for regrouping modes of the IMFs obtained from EEMD, to the mode extraction using EMD, and to the assessment of each mode in the marginal spectrum. A simulated two-mode signal is tested to demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of the approach, showing average relative errors all equal to 1.46% for various noise levels added to the signal. The developed approach is also applied to a real bridge structure, showing more reliable results than the pure EMD. Discussions on the mode determination are offered to explain the connection between modegrouping form on the one hand, and mode-grouping performance on the other.

이중공진을 사용한 적층기판용 광대역 안테나 설계 (A Wide-band Multi-layer Antenna Design using Double Resonance)

  • In this paper, bandwidth enhanced design of dielectric resonator antenna fabricated in multi-layer substrate is introduced. The proposed dielectric resonator antenna is operating with fundamental TE101 mode and higher-order TM111 mode. Each resonance frequency is dependent on resonator dimensions. As increasing the height of radiating aperture, the higher-order TM111 mode resonance frequency approach the fundamental TE101 mode resonance frequency and the antenna bandwidth increase by double resonance. Three different aperture height size antennas that operated at 7GHz are fabricated in FR4 multi-layer substrate. Measured 10 dB matching bandwidth is 8 percent for single resonace antenna and 18 percent for double resonance antenna.

  • 본 논문에서는 다치 논리를 이용한 연산기를 설계하였다. 다치 논리를 구현하기 위해서 전류모드 CMOS 회로를 이용하였으며 이진 전압모드 신호를 다치 전류모드 신호로 바꾸어 주는 인코더와 연산 결과인 다치 전류모드 신호를 이진 전압모드 신호로 바꾸어 주는 디코오더를 사용하여 기존의 이진 시스템에 적용할 수 있도록 하였으며, 승산기 설계시 부분곱 수를 줄이기 위하여 기존의 Booth 알고리즘을 확장한 4진 SD수 부분곱 발생 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 제안된 회로는 SPICE 시뮬레이션 및 FPGA Chip을 이용한 하드웨어 에뮬레이션으로 그 유효함을 확인하였다

  • Investment scenarios in the transportation network design problem usually contain installation or expansion of multi-mode transportation links. When one applies the mode choice analysis and traffic assignment sequentially for each investment scenario, it is possible that the travel impedance used in the mode choice analysis is different from the user equilibrium cost of the traffic assignment step. Therefore, to estimate the travel impedance and mode choice accurately, one needs to develop a combined model for the mode choice and traffic assignment. In this paper, we derive the inverse demand and the excess demand functions for the multi-mode multinomial logit mode choice function and develop a combined model for the multi-mode variable demand traffic assignment problem. Using data from the regional O/D and network data provided by the KTDB, we compared the performance of the partial linearization algorithm with the Frank-Wolfe algorithm applied to the excess demand model and with the sequential heuristic procedures.

  • In this paper, a systematic 5-mode(road steering, all-wheel steering, crab steering, reduced swing out mode and independent steering) steering algorithm design process for an all-terrain mobile crane with 5 axles and all steerable wheels is proposed. Steering angles for each steering mode are designed based not only on basic theory but also on vehicle specification, design limitation and requirements. A multi-body dynamic analysis is carried out to investigate the feasibility of the steering algorithm. According to the results, the proposed steering algorithm meets the objective of each steering mode.

  • The current tendency toward light weight and fast machines has lead to a need to suppress vibration of flexible dynamic systems. Input shaping is an efficient tool to eliminate transient and residual vibration caused by motion of these systems. This paper proposes a new formulation of the design method for multi-mode input shapers to eliminate residual vibration in flexible dynamic systems. The essence of the proposed method is to minimize the number of impulses to be n+1 for n-mode input shapers. This paper also suggests a solution procedure to solve the complex-valued nonlinear matrix equation for the input shapers. The proposed method is applied to two-mode input shapers. This paper discusses characteristics of several input shapers obtained under the same condition. Simulations and experiments show that the proposed method is very useful for designing multi-mode input shapers.

  • In this paper, based on the data link model characterized by the spaceborne small SAR system, the high rate multi-channel data link module is designed including link storage, link processor, transmitter, and wide-angle antenna. The design results are presented with the performance analysis on the data link budget as well as the multi-mode data rate in association with the SAR imaging mode of operation from high resolution to the wide swath.

폴라송신기의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Polar Transmitter)

  • SDR(Software Defined Radio)이나 CR(Cognitive Radio)을 구현하기 위해서는 멀티밴드와 멀티모드 송신기가 필요하다. 최근에는 멀티밴드와 멀티모드 송신기를 구현하기 위한 방법 중의 하나로 폴라송신기를 많이 연구하고 있다. 폴라송신기는 구조가 간단하고, 효율이 높다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 폴라송신기를 구현하는 경우에 필요한 D/A의 비트수와 시간지연 불일치의 영향을 검토하였다. 검토 결과 D/A 비트수는 10비트, 시간지연 불일치는 칩율의 1/64정도 이하로 유지하는 경우, 원 송신신호의 스펙트럼과 유사한 특성을 갖는 송신신호를 생성할 수 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통해서 확인하였다. 또한 검토한 결과대로 폴라송신기를 구현해서 800MHz 대역의 CDMA 신호를 생성하였으며, 생성된 신호는 800MHz CDMA의 마스크 규격을 만족함을 확인하였다.

A New Dynamic Transmission-Mode Selection Scheme for AMC/HARQ-Based Wireless Networks

  • In this paper, we study the cross-layer design for the AMC/HARQ-based wireless networks, and propose a new dynamic transmission-mode selection scheme to improve system spectrum efficiency. In the proposed scheme, dynamic thresholds for transmission-mode selection in each packet transmission and retransmission are jointly designed under the constraint of the overall packet error rate. Comparing with the existing schemes, the proposed scheme is inclined to apply higher modulation order at the first several (re)transmissions, which corresponds to higher-rate transmission modes thus higher average system spectrum efficiency. We also extend the cross-layer design to MIMO (Multi-input Multi-output) communication scenarios. Numerical results show that the proposed new dynamic transmission-mode selection scheme generally achieves higher average spectrum efficiency than the conventional and existing cross-layer design.
