Multi-code CDMA is an appropriate scheme for transmitting high rate data. However, dynamic range of the signal is large, and power amplifier with good linearity is required. Code select CDMA (CS/CDMA) is a variation of multi-code CDMA scheme that ensures constant amplitude transmission. In CS/CDMA input data selects multiple orthogonal codes, and sum of these selected codes are MPSK modulated to convert multi-level symbol into different carrier phases. CS/CDMA system employs level clipping to limit the number of levels at the output symbol to avoid hish density of signal constellation. In our previous work we showed that by encoding input data of CS/CDMA amplitude of the output symbol can be made constant. With this coding scheme, level clipping is not necessary and the output signal can be BPSK modulated for transmission. In this paper we show that the constant amplitude coded(CA-) CS/CDMA transmitter can be implemented using only logic gates, and the hardware complexity is very low. In the proposed transmitter architecture there is no apparent redundant encoder block which plays a major role in the constant amplitude coded CS/CDMA.

Multi-Code CDMA (MC-CDMA) can not only be integrated easily with a conventional system, but also achieve good spectral efficiency and high processing gain. However, it suffers from high value of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper, we propose the Multi-Phase CDMA (MP-CDMA) system that can provide variable rate service and is not susceptible to the non-linear characteristics of amplifier. The clipping is introduced between at the output of multi-code modulator and at the input of MPSK modulator in order to improve the performance of MPSK chip demodulator and reduce the system complexity, The system performances are compared for the different Number of codes and different clipping levels, respectively. The optimum clipping level is also evaluated for the different number of codes in both, AWGN and frequency flat fading channel.

In multi-robot systems, ultrasonic sensors are widely used for localization and/or obstacle detection. However, conventional ultrasonic sensors have a drawback, that is, the interference problem among ultrasonic transmitters. There are some previous studies to avoid interferences, such as TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access). In multiple autonomous mobile robots systems, the Doppler-effect has to be considered because ultrasonic transceivers are attached to the moving robots. To overcome this problem, we find out the ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying)-CDMA technique is more robust to the Doppler-effect than the BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying)-CDMA technique. In this paper, we propose a new code-expression method and a Monte-Carlo based algorithm that optimizes the ultrasonic code combination in the ASK-CDMA ultrasonic system. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm improves the performance of the ultrasonic multiple accessing capacity in the ASK-CDMA ultrasonic system.
In this paper, we present the performance of a multi-code parallel combinatory CDMA system using bi-orthogonal modulation under multipath fading channel. In general, the dynamic range of the amplitude of the transmit signal is very large in conventional multi-code CDMA systems, resulting in severe nonlinear distortion due to high power amplifier and thus significant BER performance degradation. Since the number of simultaneously multiplexed code channels in the proposed system is reduced, the proposed system exhibits reduction of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmit signal amplitude with significant BER improvement. We verify the performance of the proposed system by computer simulations under the Vehicular B multipath fading channel model by ARIB.

The channel parameters such as RMS delay spread and Doppler frequency have an effect on performance of system. This paper investigates the effect between the Inter-Code Interference (ICI) and the frequency diversity gain in the multi-rate MC-CDMA system. The multi-rate MC-CDMA system has achieved the more variable data rate than the MC-CDMA and moreover it has the better performance than the OFDMA system, because it has achieved the frquency diversity gain. However, the frequency diversity gain and ICI have a trade-off relationship by using the spreading code. Therefore, we have improved the system performance by efficient choice of system parameters. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the frequency diversify gain and the ICI effect, we perform simulations by altering the Doppler frequency and RMS delay spread.
In this paper, we propose to exploit a multi-code CDMA scheme for power line communication (PLC) systems, and its performance on non-Gaussian impulse and harmonic noises is presented. The proposed multi-code CDMA scheme utilizes convolutional coding and block interleaving to combat with the non-Gaussian noises, and simulation results indicate effective alleviation of these noises, and thus significant bit error rate improvement by the proposed scheme even under strict restriction of frequency band allowed in PLC systems.

In this paper, we propose a downlink power control scheme to apply in the unequal error protection multi-code CDMA mobile medicine system. The mobile medicine system contains (i) blood pressure and body temperature measurement value, (ii) ECG medical signals measured by the electrocardiogram device, (iii) mobile patient's history, (iv) G.729 audio signal, MPEG-4 CCD sensor video signal, and JPEG2000 medical image. By the help of the multi-code CDMA spread spectrum communication system with downlink power control scheme and unequal error protection strategy, it is possible to transmit mobile medicine media and meet the quality of service. Numerical analysis and simulation results show that the system is a well transmission platform in mobile medicine.
Turbo Code is one of the most useful and powerful channel coding technique. It is adopted in radio transmission of IMT-2000, both CDMA2000 and W-CDMA system. The performance of this code depends on many parameters such as encoder memory size, free distance of codewords, interleaver size, number of decoding iteration, and so on. This paper describes a Multi-Stage Interleaver which is used in Turbo Codes for W-CDMA channel coding. We compare the performance of a Multi-Stage Interleaver with that of Mother Interleaver. The simulation results show that Multi-Stage Interleaver performs better than Mother Interleaver in bit error rate from $10^{-3}$ to $10^{-6}$.

This paper is analyzed the performance of coded MC-CDMA system using the multi-carrier with narrow band that is suggested to solve ISI and ICI of DS-CDMA system. In this paper, considered channel model is indoor mobile radio communication environment with Rician fading distribution and fading of multi-carrier have mutual independent characteristics. For the performance analysis of MC-CDMA system, first, bit error probability of uncoded system is simulated in the reverse and forward Rician channels. And then, it is simulated that bit error probability of coded MC-CDMA system for users, multicarriers and SNR, using (7,4) Hamming code, (15,7) BCH code and 1/2-convolutional code with 7 constraint length.
