PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용한 PV Cell 및 MPPT 모델링에 관한 연구 (Simplified PV Cell and MPPT Modeling based on PSCAD/EMTDC)

  • The power generated by a Photovoltaic(PV) cell depends on the operating voltage of the array, its voltage-current and voltage-power characteristic curves specify a unique operating point at which maximum possible power is delivered and the array is operated at its highest efficiency. PSCAD/EMTDC, which is a simulation tool for the transient analysis of an electric power system, was used to simulate the PV Cell system. So, in this paper, the PV cell components of the PSCAD/EMTDC were developed, and the Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT) modeling was used for the developed PV power system to find the maximum power.

  • 본 논문에서는 IncCond(Incremental conductance) MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) 알고리즘에 일사량을 변수로 하여 가변적인 step 사이즈를 적용함으로써 급격한 외부환경변화에 빠르게 동작하는 개선된 성능의 MPPT 제어기법을 제시하였고, 계통연계형 3kW 태양광 PCS(Power Conditioning System)의 기본적인 제어기를 설계함에 있어 제안한 MPPT 알고리즘과 연계해 빠른 동작특성을 갖는 DC/DC 부스트 컨버터의 제어기와 DC link 전압 제어기 및 인버터 제어기를 설계하였다. 이를 PSCAD/EMTDC 시뮬레이션 프로그램으로 구현하여 제안한 제어기의 성능을 확인하였다.

  • This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control algorithm considering insolation to improve efficiency of PV system. The propoed algorithm is composed perturb and observe(PO) method and constant voltage(CV) method. PO method is simple to realize and CV method is possible to tracking MPP with low insolation. Response characteristics of proposed algorithm is compared to conventional PO method with insolation variation. This paper proves the validity of proposed algorithm through the analysis result.

  • In this paper, the control method of extracting maximum power from the seaflow energy is proposed. This system consists of buck-boost converter, bridge diode. The control is performed by using the variable duty ratio control of buck-boost converter. For extracting maximum power, it is necessary to know the seaflow turbine's maximum power curve and the seaflow speed measurement. But this makes the system difficult and expensive to implement. So this paper proposes the MPPT control method where the seaflow speed and the maximum power curve of the seaflow turbine are not required. The effectiveness of algorithm is simulated based on Matlab $Simulink^{(R)}$.

  • This paper proposes new control method of maximum power point tracking for the seaflow generation system. This control system is performed by using the duty ratio control of DC/DC converter. An advantage of MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking)control method presented in this paper is not necessary to use the seaflow turbine characteristic at various seaflow speed and measure the tidal speed and/or the rotation speed of the seaflow generator. Therefore the resulting system ha s the characteristics of lower cost, higher efficiency and lower complexity. The fuzzy controller is used to control the duty ratio of DC/DC converter. So the reactivity and the reliablilty of the generation system is developed. Proposed control method was analyzed mathematically and tested by computer simulation by using Matlab $Simulink^{(R)}$.

  • In this paper, Simple and inexpensive analog maximum power point tracker (MPPT) algorithm for photovoltaic power system and low power system of doesn't use digital signal processor (DSP). The control circuit is composed such that the actual current and voltage are sensed directly from the PV array. These two signals are then multiplied by a single-chip multiplier. The multiplier output go through different time constants genesis pulse width modulated to switch. Finally those were verified through simulation.

  • Photovoltaic(PV) power generation system has been extensively studied and watched with keen interest as a clean and renewable power source. On the other hand, because the output power of solar cell is not only unstable but uncontrollable, the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control is still hot issue with the tracking failure left unsolved under the sudden fluctuation of irradiance. Hence, in this paper, we introduce the mechanism of the tracking failure under the fluctuation of irradiance, and show the simulation results using SPRW(simulation method for PV power generation system using real weather conditions).

  • PV system is easy to operate and maintain than the other power generating system since it generally contains no moving parts, operates silently and requires very little maintenance. A solar cell generates DC power from sunlight whose power is different at any instance according to condition of irradiation and temperature variables. In order to improve the system utility factor and efficiency of energy conversion, it is desirable to operate the PV system at maximum power point of solar cell under different condition This paper describes the experimental results of the PV system contain solar modules and a DC-DC converter(boost type chopper) using fuzzy controller. The experimental results show that the PV system always operates at maximum power point of solar cells having stabilized output voltage waveform with relatively small ripple component.

Photovoltaic Generation System Simulation using Real Field Weather Conditions

  • Actual system apparatuses are necessary in order to verify the efficiency and stability of photovoltaic(PV) generation systems considering the size of solar panel, the sort of converter type, and the load conditions and so on. Moreover, it is hardly possible to compare a certain MPPT control scheme with others under the exactly same weather and load conditions as well. For the purpose of solving above mentioned difficulties in a laboratory basis, a transient simulation of PV generation system using real field weather conditions is indispensable. A straightforward simulation scheme with cost effective hardware structures under real weather conditions is proposed in this paper using EMTDC type of transient analysis simulators. Firstly, a solar cell has been modeled with VI characteristic equations, and then the real field data of weather conditions are interfaced to the EMTDC through Fortran program interface method. As a result, the stability and the efficiency analysis of PV generation systems according to various hardware structures and MPPT controls are easily possible under the exactly same weather conditions.
