  • This paper describes a monitoring system for fish farm formation effect based on personal computer by using an image processing technique. This method is based on image processing technique incorporating concept of window and threshold processing to track the target object and to distinguish it from background. The image processing program runs in the veal time so that all program modules are able to process multi-task. The effectiveness is evaluated through the comparative study on the motion of lantern net for the scallop culturing by wave action in an experimental wave tank.

  • This paper presents a neural network approach for on-line estimation of partial discharge(PD) location using advanced correlation technique in power transformer. Ultrasonic sensors detect ultrasonic signals generated by a PD and the proposed method calculates time difference between the ultrasonic signals at each sensor pair using the cross-correlation technique applied by moving average and the Hamming window. The neural network takes distance difference as inputs converted from time difference, and estimates the PD location. Case studies showed that the proposed method using advanced correlation technique and a neural network estimated the PD location better than conventional methods.

  • In this study, evaluated absorbed dose of moving target using PLD according to prescribed dose and therapeutic technique. First, result of MCNPX when target was deviated from exposure field was reduced dose in proportion to distance. According to prescribed dose, absorbed dose of 3D CRT was better than IMRT in low dose and IMRT was more better in high dose. Absorbed dose of 3D CRT was highest according to therapeutic technique. Therefore, 3D CRT was technique of irradiated highest dose to moving target. But, considered protective effect of normal tissue and patient condition that therapeutic technique was selected to maximized treatment efficiency.

  • The remote field eddy current (RFEC) inspection was performed on the ductile cast iron pipes with nominal outer diameter of 100mm, which were machined with various shapes and sizes of defects. Ductile cast iron pipes which are used as water supply pipe have the non-uniform thickness and asymmetric cross section due to relatively high degree of allowable errors during the manufacturing processes. These characteristics of ductile cast in pipes cause the long range background noises in RFEC signals along the pipe. In this study, tile machined defects in pipes were effectively classified by the moving window average (MWA) method which eliminated the long-range noise. The voltage plane polar plots (VPPP) method was used to quantitatively evaluate the depth and circumferential degree of defects. The VPPP signatures showed that the angle between defect signature and the normalized in-phase component on the VPPP is linear to the depth of defects. The nondestructive RFEC technique proved to be capable of quantitatively evaluating the machined defects of underground water supply pipe.

  • In this paper we propose a very rapid moving object tracking method for an object-based auto focus on a smart phone camera. By considering the limit of non-learning approach on low-performance platforms, we use a sliding-window detection technique based on histogram features. By adapting the integral histogram, we solve the problem of the time-consuming histogram computation on each sub-window. For more speed up, we propose a local candidate search, and an adaptive scaling template method. In addition, we propose to apply a stabilization term in the matching function for a stable detection location. In experiments on our dataset, we demonstrated that we achieved a very rapid tracking performance demonstrating over 100 frames per second on a PC environment.

  • In this paper we propose a real-time moving object tracking method on a smart phone camera. By considering the limit of non-learning approach on low-performance platforms, we use the sliding-window detection technique based on histogram features. We solve the problem of the time-consuming histogram computation on each sub-window by adapting the integral histogram. For additional speed and tracking performance, we propose a new adaptive bin method. From the experiments on our dataset, we achieved high speed performance demonstrating 34~63 frames per second.

  • This paper discribes technique of the recursive restoration for the images degraded by linear space invariant blur and additive white Gaussian noise. The image is characterized statistically by tis mean and correlation function. An exponential autocorrelation function has been used to model neighborhood model. The vector model was used because of analytical simplicitly and capability to implement brightness correlation function. Base on the vector model, a two-dimensional discrete stochastic a 12 point neighborhood model for represeting images was developme and used the technique of moving window processing to restore blurred and noisy images without dimensionality increesing, It has been shown a 12 point neighborhood model was found to be more adequate than a 8 point pixel model to obtain optimum pixel estimated. If the image is highly correlated, it is necessary to use a large number of points in the neighborhood in order to have improvements in restoring image. It is believed that these result could be applied to a wide range of image processing problem. Because image processing thchniques normally required a 2-D linear filtering.

  • The present study investigated the perceptual span(or the span of effective vision) of junior-high school students during reading Korean, using the material and the moving-window display change technique used in Choi & Koh(2009). The 8 different window sizes were used in the experiment. They were 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 characters in size and the whole line. Reading rate, number of fixation, saccadic distance, fixation duration were compared between each window-size condition and the whole line condition. Considering the pattern of eye-movement measures above, the size of the perceptual span of junior-high school students in Korean reading may be estimated to be 9 characters, that is 4 characters to the right and 1 characters to the left of the fixation.

  • Through the smart factory construction project, sensors can be installed in manufacturing production facilities and various process data can be collected in real time. Through this, research on real-time facility anomaly detection is being actively conducted to reduce production interruption due to facility abnormality in the manufacturing process. In this paper, to detect abnormalities in production facilities, the manufacturing data was applied to deep learning models Autoencoder(AE), VAE(Variational Autoencoder), and AAE(Adversarial Autoencoder) to derive the results. Manufacturing data was used as input data through a simple moving average technique and preprocessing process, and performance analysis was conducted according to the window size of the simple movement average technique and the feature vector size of the AE model.

  • Immunohistochemical technique of the c-fos primary gene protein, Fos, was used to analyze the effects of external factors on the neuronal activities in the periaqueductal gray(PAG) of the intact rats, sham-operated rats and post-operated stress control rats. In addition, the number of Fos positive neurons has been evaluated to verify the effects of cannula implantation and veratridine treatment on the neuronal activities in PAG area. The results were summerized as follow : 1. There was no significant difference in the number of Fos positive neurons observed in the caudal and middle portion of lateroventral PAG from cannula implanted rats and sham operated rats. 2. The number of Fos positive neurons in the PAG was not changed by the stress induced by connection of collecting tube to rats for 12 hours as compared to that of intact rats. 3. In the saline treated group, the Fos immunoreactivity in the PAG did not changed at 30 minutes and 1 hour after saline treatment as compared to that of intact rats. However, the number of Fos positive neurons was significantly increased at 2 hours after treatment compared to that of saline treated rats at 30 minutes after treatment. 4. The Fos immunoreactivity was dramatically increased at 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours after veratridine treatment as compared to those of saline treated groups. The number of Fos immunoreative neurons showed the maximal level at 2 hours after veratridine treatment. 5. The Fos positive neurons induced by saline and veratridine treatment were mainly distributed in front of the microdialysis window. These results suggest that new microdialysis demonstrated in this study improves efficiency and accuracy to confine the neuronal activity in front of microdialysis window site. Moreover, this directional specificity allows us to locate probe tips adjacent to the brain area of the interest site rather than centering the probes within that brain area. Finally, This microdialysis method can be used to dialyse the neurotransmitters using concious and freely moving rats.
