  • In this study, the comparison of the contractile states change at prime mover muscle with that at synergist muscle was executed, while the muscle contracted continuously with isometric contraction. The contractile states of muscle becomes to change when the voluntary contraction of skeletal muscle is progressed continuously. Such the contractile states change is divided into three states in consideration for not only physiological change but also the psychological change by CNS(central nervous system) as "stable state", "fatigue state" and "pain state". As a result of this study, the prime mover muscle is reached "pain state" but the synergist muscle is not reached. Namely the synergist muscle is delayed state than the prime mover muscle. This result judged that although the prime mover muscle have reached a limit when contraction is continued, owing to effect of delayed state of the synergist muscle, the prime mover muscle is endured some more contraction.

  • When ions move in the air under an electric field, momentum is transferred from ions to neighboring particles. The wind is raised therefore, if the ion-flow is dominant in one direction. Using this mechanism, authors developed a fan which has no moving parts, and named it EHD AIR MOVER. This paper describes its theory with experimental results. Air velocity of 450ft/min is obtained by the ion current of 5*10$\^$-6/A/cm$\^$2/. Comparison of the theoretical calculation with the experimental data shows satisfactory agreement.

  • This paper presents the hybrid stepping machine for linear oscillating generators. The focus of the work is the suggestion of the improved model through the comparison of proposed models ; new flux concentrating PMs mover of the hybrid stepping generator is proposed based on the symmetrical and non-symmetrical stator cores of the surface mounted PMs mover, and non-slanted PMs and slanted PMs of the flux concentrating PMs mover. It is achieved using equivalent magnetic circuit considering leakage elements. Finally, this study suggests new hybrid stepping structure of linear oscillating generator.

  • This research explores early mover advantages and performance in the cyber market based on an empirical test. It also examines whether early mover strategic capabilities are able to adopt mutually cumulative relationship in the cyber market. Early movers such as eBay.com and Amazon.com seem to have been able to defy exclusive relationship between strategic capabilities. Compared with their followers such as uBid.com and buy.com, they have been able to adopt strong focus, differentiation, and cost leadership strategies. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the differences in strategic choices based on the strategic capabilities and performance of online firms between early movers and followers. The study reviews early mover advantages and disadvantages, and a strategic typology based on Porter's model, as well as strategic capabilities based on the sand cone model.

  • An explosive expansion of the use of smart devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs in mobile telecommunications service is bringing about a steep increase of mobile traffic volumes. Mobile network operators or telcos are introducing the $4^{th}$ generation LTE network, which handles traffics more efficiently, to respond such enormously increasing traffics. Meanwhile, it is wondered how LTE contributes to raising a competitive edge of telcos. This paper aims at empirically testing whether the first mover of LTE acquired its competitive advantages. In this paper, we analyzed a number of telcos of 10 major countries. As a result, it turned out that there is no first mover's advantages, that is, the first mover did not have any competitive advantages in market share, profitability, and so on.

  • This paper presents a new partial excitation method of the moving magnet type linear synchronous motor(MMLSM) and proposes a new way of implementation for multi-mover MMLSM. Originally, partial excitation circuit which excites the coils only under the magnet is necessary for proper operation of MMLSM. In conventional partial excitation method there is inevitably impedance unbalance situation. So a new partial excitation method Is proposed to solve this impedance unbalance problem. Based on this partial excitation method, a novel control method for multi-mover MMLSM is proposed. The validity and performance of the proposed partial excitation method and multi-mover MMLSM is verified by experimental results.

  • This paper suggests a new linear motor which is able to levitate as well as move its mover without any linear bearing or even additive windings. Its structure is very similar to a well-known both-sided linear motor which consists of two stators and a common mover. And the movement principle is the same with that of conventional linear motor. But unlike the conventional one, the amplitudes of phase currents are controlled to levitate the mover. In this paper, the structure and principle of the suggested bearingless linear motor are introduced in detail and its feasibility is experimentally investigated. Using the prototype and a very simple controller, we succeeded in the levitation and linear movement of the mover at a time.

  • SK Communications entered Korean instant messenger market as a late-mover in 2001 and its instant messenger service "NateOn" was placed in competition with Microsoft's "MSN Messenger", the leading service provider at the time. NateOn studied the nature of users accurately and gradually increased its market share through various services, and in September 2005, it succeeded in overtaking MSN as No.1 in the market. The success of NateOn is a case where a late-mover overcame the buddy-list network, a powerful competitive advantage, of the incumbent. By studying the changes in the instant messenger market of Korea, we try to examine the causes of NateOn's victory and MSN's loss. Through this, we wish to give implications for managers who endeavor to discover the internal and external strategies the leading business has to implement to remain ahead, and how a late-mover can overcome the lack of resources and capacity to leave a mark in the market.

  • A linear permanent-magnet vernier (LPMV) motor has magnets and windings in the short mover, which is very suitable for long stroke applications. This paper proposed a new field oriented control with space vector pulse width modulation for the LPMV motor, which considers loss minimization. First, the topology of the LPMV motor is briefly presented. Then, the mathematical model is derived, and the mover field oriented control strategy is proposed. Also, the loss analysis is performed. Finally, the simulated and experimental results are given, verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

  • Recently, emergence of smart-phones and Social Networking Service(SNS) would offer the market environment changes and the opportunities for new business. For the case analysis comprehensive survey were implemented. And those data were analyzed along the research framework. The late-comer firms offered differential services, maintained creative and opened corporate culture, shoed learning capabilities which means absorption and organization of external knowledge, innovative efforts to control the insurgents than early-mover firms. When we analyze these phenomena along the developmental stages of late-comer, we can perceive that the stage of late-comers firms were moving from the "tracing the path" stage to "jumping the path" stage which means the creating capabilities were more or less enhanced and the firms become more stable in terms of business operation. In business model, early-mover firms showed clear definition for each business element, especially the revenue structure, while late-mover firms seemed unstable or unclear revenue structure.
