Comparison of Handball Result Predictions Using Bagging and Boosting Algorithms (배깅과 부스팅 알고리즘을 이용한 핸드볼 결과 예측 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the predictive power of the Bagging and Boosting algorithm of ensemble method based on the motion information that occurs in woman handball matches and to analyze the availability of motion information. To this end, this study analyzed the predictive power of the result of 15 practice matches based on inertial motion by analyzing the predictive power of Random Forest and Adaboost algorithms. The results of the study are as follows. First, the prediction rate of the Random Forest algorithm was 66.9 ± 0.1%, and the prediction rate of the Adaboost algorithm was 65.6 ± 1.6%. Second, Random Forest predicted all of the winning results, but none of the losing results. On the other hand, the Adaboost algorithm shows 91.4% prediction of winning and 10.4% prediction of losing. Third, in the verification of the suitability of the algorithm, the Random Forest had no overfitting error, but Adaboost showed an overfitting error. Based on the results of this study, the availability of motion information is high when predicting sports events, and it was confirmed that the Random Forest algorithm was superior to the Adaboost algorithm.

  • Top-down Method of basement construction technique has been applied for building of the deep basement car park the close proximity of priceless historic buildings in LONDON. Numerical analysis for the prediction of ground movement of the surrounding buildings was performed in order to compare the field data at the various stages of excavation and support. The predicted results from the elasto-plastic analytical method were compared with the observed data and the agreement is very satisfactory. It may be concluded that the system of diaphragm wall supported by the permanent base slabs (Top-Down Method) was proved to be the most effective technique in terms of reducing any critical damage to the surrounding buildings.

  • We suggest a novel approach to the tracking of multiple moving objects in image sequence. The tracking of multiple moving objects include some complex problems(crossing (occluding), entering, disappearing, joining, and dividing) for objects identifying. Our method can settle these problems by optimization of a penalty function and movement prediction. It is executable in .eat time processing (more than 30 ㎐) because it is computed by only location data.

  • In this paper, we propose an EEG-based mental state prediction method during a mental tasks. In the experimental task, a subject goes through the process of responding to visual stimulus, understanding the given problem, controlling hand motions, and hitting a key. Considering the subject's varying brain activities, we model subjects' mental states with defining selection time. EEG signals from four subjects were recorded while they performed three mental tasks. Feature vectors defined by these representations were classified with a standard, feed-forward neural network trained via the error back-propagation algorithm. We expect that the proposed detection method can be a basic technology for brain-computer interface by combining with left/right hand movement or cognitive decision discrimination methods.

  • We present an efficient block-based motion estimation algorithm with motion analysis. The motion analysis determines a size of search pattern and a maximum repeated count of search pattern. In case of large movement in large image, we reduce search points and the local minimum which caused by low performance. The proposed algorithm employs with searching step of 2. The first step determines an initial search point with neighbor block vector and a size of initial search pattern. The second step determines a size of search pattern and a maximum repeated count with motion analysis. We improve motion prediction accuracy while reducing required computational complexity compared to other fast block-based motion estimation algorithms.

  • This paper describes the fixed-point DSP implementation of a CELP(code-excited linear prediction)-based speech coder. The effective realization methodologies to maximize the utilization of the DSP's architectural features, specifically Parallel movement and pipelining are also presented together with the implementation results targeted for the ITU-T standard G.723.1 using Motorola DSP56309. The operation of the implemented speech coder is verified using the test vectors offered by the standard as well as using the peripheral interface circuits designed for the coder's real-time operation.

  • A rheology casting technology has some advantages compared with conventional forming processes such as die casting, squeeze casting and hot/cold forming. The liquid segregation is important on mechanical properties of materials using rheology casting. In this study, so, molecular dynamics simulations were performed for the control of liquid segregation. Because the dynamics of fluid flow about nano-scaled materials is completely different from continuum, molecular dynamics simulations were used. The behavior of particles was far from the truth according to boundary conditions in simple flow. But various movement of particles appear at two or more molecular simulations.

  • Generally, moving object tracking used Lucas-Kanade feature tracking method which is strong in movement, rotation and size. But this method is very weak of occlusion by background or another object and so on. In this case, this method tracks backgrounds or another objects instead a moving object, or a tracking is finished. In order to solve this problem, we proposes Lucas-Kanade feature tracking method which introduce a destimation function and prediction function.

  • It is conducted to analyze vibration loads on KSR-III(KSR: Korea Sounding Rocket) and its major segments during their ground transportation and various handling process. These loads may be different from the real flight environment. Inadequate assessment of these loads can cause not only local damages on the rocket system but also the critical problem like flight mission failure. Therefore, transportation and handling loads must be considered during design and attenuated to ensure that the rocket structural damage does not occur. This work is concerned with the generation of criteria and prediction of transportation and handling loads for KSR-III. The results show that the shipping container is well designed to satisfy the design requirements. The maximum vibration level recorded during whole transportation and handling for KSR-III is less than 2g, the criteria of KSR-III movement condition.

  • The purpose of this work is to investigate the fundamental properties of the gradual muscle force potentiation for the prediction of muscle force and body movement from the stimulation input with musculo-skeletal model. We investigated the dependence of force potentiation on both the pulse-amplitude and the pulse-duration. The experimental result showed that the force increment ratio during electrical stimulation decreased with pulse-amplitude. The force increment ratio decreased with short pulse-duration and was maintained to be constant with pulse-duration longer than $500{\mu}s$. A new model of the muscle potentiation based on these results is desired in the future.
