  • The propulsion Motor system has changed from the DC motor system to the induction motor system. Although the induction motor system has almost reached the stage of maturity, this system also need changed to the IPMSM system for direct drive without reduction gear. Thus, the IPMSM(Interior buried Permanent magnet synchronous Motor) has been adopted to meet the driving specification. In this paper, loss characteristic analysis of IPMSM has been performed using adopted F.E.M.

  • Recently, the BLDC(Brushless DC) motor has been increasingly applied to home appliance and the study of BLDC motor drive is extensively processing, so it is necessary to investigate the characteristic of the BLDC motor drive. In this paper, we proposed the modeling of interior permanent - magnet BLDC motor drive. The state model of motor and the model of inverter using pulse width modulation are included. The modeling is verified by the experimental results.

  • switched reluctance motors and drives are increasingly used in industrial applications due to their robust mechanical structure, low inertia and reduction in the rotor losses. As the motor speed increase turn on angle must be advanced to build up phase current. When C-dump converter is applied to switched reluctance motor, the capacitance of dump C has to have proper value. In this paper advance angle for a switched reluctance motor and capacitance of dump C are investigated. Then proper advance angle and the capacitance of dump-C are propose for the industrial low voltage SR motor.

  • Static variations of cutting forces are estimated using spindle motor current. Static sensitivity of spindle motor current is higher than feed motor current. The linear relationship between the cutting force and RMS value of the spindle motor current is obtained. Using cutting force estimation, tool overload in milling process can be well detected, and cutting force is regulated at a constant level by feedrate adaptive control.

Actuating Characteristics of Electrostatic Micro-motors

  • Electrostatic micro-motors can be divided into three classes: (i) salient type side drive motor, (ii) radial gap type wobble motor, (iii) axial gap type wobble motor. The working mechanism, torque evaluation, fabrication, and operational characteristics of each micro motors are compared. It is proved that axial gap type wobble motor has the bigger generating torque than that of the other type. The gear ratio of wobble motors increases the driving torque at the cost of a decreasing angular speed and decreases the friction because of the rolling motion instead of sliding at the bearing. Techniques for characterizing micro-motors performance are presented.

  • This study has been focused on the selection of optimal electric motor load, which takes a lot of portions of motor driving factor in the building. Based on the past design data for existing electric motor load and method of calculation, it is known that in general electric machine load has been estimated excessively. For the accurate calculation, it is important apply to motor driving factor to be actually provided.

  • In this paper, electromagnetic vibration soruce of BLDC motor is analyzed, and a method of reducing vibration is presented. The vibration sources of BLDC motor are cogging torque and commutation torque ripple. The effectiveness of the proposed method were verified with experiments on FFT analysis.

  • This paper presents a design strategy of Slotless type BLDC motor using the space harmonic field method. The distribution of Back emf and torque are considered by movement of the Permanent Magnet and armature current. The result of magnetic field distribution, back-emf, and torque are in agreement with FEM.

  • Recently, Control method of induction Motor is applied in full circuit model, as circular diagram. In Elevetor moderization problem, there is no circuit information. Nothing but, Motor terminal voltage and HP of motor. So, in this study, using KS induction Motor table, try to solve initial valve problem and make some implementations of manual tuning for use of automatic tuning of induction motor parameter.

Design of PM Excited Transverse Flux Linear Motor of Inner Mover Type

  • A transverse flux, PM-exited linear motor (TFM-LM) with inner mover was designed and built. Its output power density is higher and its weight is lower than those of the conventional PM exited linear synchronous motors (PM LSM). To obtain the maximum thrust force under the given volume, the thrust force density with respect to the ratio of the slot width and the length of pole pitch is analyzed by the 3-dimension finite element method (FEM). Finally, calculated static thrust forces was compared with the experimental values. The calculated and measured performance of the transverse flux, PM-exited linear motor with inner mover revealed great potential for system improvements by reducing the mass of the linear motor. For examples, when this motor was applied to a ropeless elevator, it was possible to increase the power density by more than 400% over the conventional PM-LSM. The results of this study recommend this type of motor for the ropeless elevator or gearless direct linear driving system.
