The purpose of this research was to conduct grounded-theory-based explorations on the types of motivation that make pre-service elementary school teachers learn science and on their type-based science-learning processes. One hundred thirty-two pre-service elementary school teachers' motivation types were analyzed, and amongst them, 12 were selected as the subjects to observe their science-learning processes to which grounded theory applied. As a result of analyzing their science-learning motivation types, it was found that the majority belonged to the type "accurators", followed in descending order by the types "directors", "explorers", and "coordinators". Coding various phenomena that appeared in their science-learning processes made it possible to derive 30 categories from them according to the grounded-theory paradigm model elements. Based on such categories derived, analysis could be made on their science-learning process flows by motivation types, according to the grounded-theory paradigm model. For example, the "accurators" were attending science lectures or reading science books to learn science knowledge and how to teach it, from a sense of obligation they took for granted as elementary school teachers. Although their experiences of science-learning processes could not be from pure intentions, due to the teacher certification examination, curriculum, or other environmental factors, they were found to have new perspectives on science with their individual efforts and participations.
This study aims to analyze how the history of mathematics is used in Chinese mathematics textbooks. As a framework for analysis, we categorized nine types of using the history of mathematics in textbooks. We analyzed 18 mathematics textbooks for Chinese elementary and middle schools. As a result, we found that various types of using the history of mathematics were adopted in Chinese textbooks except for explorations of mathematical errors in history. We also noticed three characteristics: preference to using for motivation and reading matters in elementary school levels, high frequencies of using problems from traditional mathematical books and origins of mathematical concepts or symbols, and emphasis on ethnic superiority through the Chinese traditional mathematics. Based on the results of analysis, we discussed and induced some implications for using the history in our mathematics textbooks.
One of the benefits of the internet-assisted instruction is that it can improve L2 Learners' motivation to express themselves in English. The purpose of this paper is to investigate an effective approach to British-American fiction learning in Korean universities, which can emphasize communicative strategies drawing on video-conferencing system, a chat system(CUSeeMe), and an e-mail system. Students are passive participants who cannot assert their creativity in the traditional teaching method of British-American fiction, which mainly relies upon reading and translation far from literature lessons. In CCDL(Cross-cultural distance learning) class, students can play active roles in asserting their own ideas and assuming considerable responsibility for making a presentation in English. A professor can play a role as a coordinator in supporting the students' activities and in winding up the class. The main significance of this article lies in providing a paradigm for CCDL class beyond the limitation of the traditional teaching method of British-American fiction in Korea and futhermore in exploring the eclectic integration of the traditional one and CCDL.
Both coordinated multi-point transmission and frequency reuse are effective approaches to mitigate inter-cell interference and improve network coverage. The motivation of this work is to explore the manner to effectively utilize the spectrum resource by reasonably combining cooperation and frequency reuse. The $Mat{\acute{e}}rn$ cluster process, which is appropriate to model networks with hot spots, is used to model the spatial distribution of base stations. Two cooperative mechanisms, coherent and non-coherent joint transmission (JT), are analyzed and compared. We also evaluate the effect of multiple antennas and imperfect channel state information. The simulation reveals that the proposed approach to combine cooperation and frequency reuse is effective to improve the network coverage for users located at both the center and the boundary of the cooperative region.

It is not easy for information users to find books that are suitable for them in a knowledge information society. There is a growing need for libraries to break away from traditional services and provide user-tailored recommendation services, but there are few qualitative studies on user satisfaction so far. In this study, a user-customized book recommendation was performed by applying Apriori, a correlation analysis algorithm, and satisfaction factors were analyzed in depth through interviews. The experimental data was the loan data of 100 people who used the most frequently used loan data for 10 years from 2009 to 2019 of the S library in Seoul. The interviewees of the experiment were those who could be interviewed in depth. After the correlation analysis, the concepts and categories derived by analyzing the interview data were 59 concepts, 6 sub-categories, and 2 upper categories, respectively. The upper categories were 'reading' and 'book recommendation service'. In the 'reading' category, there were 16 concepts of motivation for reading, 8 concepts of preferred books, and 12 concepts of expected effects. Also, in the category of 'reading recommendation service', there were 10 'reflection factors', 4 'reflection methods', and 9 'satisfaction factors'.

This paper determined students' ranks of difficulty on the use of materials in terms of 1) understanding the layout of the learning materials, 2) reading comprehension of the learning materials, and 3) realization on relevance to needs of the learning materials. It also determined students' 4) rank and frequency of attitude on the materials. With the data gathered through 128 survey questionnaires, 7 focused group discussions, and 10 interviews, the results were found out that there was an inappropriate assessment procedure set by this particular university. The researcher concludes that: 1) design of four types of classes by just using the two textbooks with their respective workbooks is grammar-based with limited conversation activities; 2) placement for these students in one big class size was implemented without considering their common interest and motivation and language levels; and, 3) qualification of teachers teaching these EFL students did not support students' real needs and the language program itself. Content professors who were made to teach may have the ability to input learning, but their teaching styles may differ from the ones who are real English teachers. This paper then recommends that teachers and school administration should have an appropriate placement exam before students attend the class, especially in a big class size. There could only be a few problems among students in one big class size when students' level of competence is proportioned. With this, topics and conversation activities can even be more flexible with the maneuver of art of questioning, various dimensions of thinking, strategic competence, learning attitude or behavior, etc. to ensure sustenance of communicative mode and level of interest and motivation in the classroom. Grammar-based instruction can only be taught when a need arises. Thus, the course description of each class will be able to transact the objectives ready for developing students' communication competence. Moreover, proper measurement can be utilized to validly assess the amount of students' learning and the progress of language curriculum design in terms of materials selection and teaching approach.
In this Paper, an Audio-Visual Teaching aid (AVTA) for use in a classroom and with Internet is presented. A system, which was designed and tested, consists of a wireless Microphone system, Text to Speech conversion Software, Noise filtering circuit and a Computer. An IBM compatible PC with sound card and Network Interface card and a Web browser and a voice and text messenger service were used to provide slightly delayed text and also voice over the internet for remote teaming, while providing scrolling text from a real time lecture in a classroom. The motivation for design of this system, was to aid Korean students who may have difficulty in listening comprehension while have, fairly good reading ability of text. This application of this system is twofold. On one hand it will help the students in a class to view and listen to a lecture, and on the other hand, it will serve as a vehicle for remote access (audio and text) for a classroom lecture. The project provides a simple and low cost solution to remote learning and also allows a student to have access to classroom in emergency situations when the student, can not attend a class. In addition, such system allows the student in capturing a teacher's lecture in audio and text form, without the need to be present in class or having to take many notes. This system will therefore help students in many ways.
The development of web service area enables to integrate the various existing systems into web, which have been utilized to the several fields such as education business and companies. The e-learning could be an important teaching method for English education in that the learners prefer to use of the visual material in language learning. The students are provided with the motivation of learning for it is interesting to them. The purpose of this study is to research the problems so that web service can be organized efficiently for the education of English. In addition, this paper is to suggest an alternation of the direction for development of skills to solve the existing problems.

This paper is written to clarify the specific details of the Sabu-SongyuMongnok(사부송유목록). which is a reading list for recitation and appreciation of Chinese classics edited by Hong Suk-Chu(1774-1842) when he was 56 years old for the stimulation of his younger brother Hyun-Ju (1793-1865)'s reading life. In this study the catalogue's title interpretation. the time of the editing, the motive for the editing and the analysis of the contents are revealed as what they actually are. The main details are as followings. There is no date written on the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok but the writer estimate it to be around 1829. After Hong Suk-Chu recognized the fact that although his younger brother Hyun-Ju was interested in reading but felt that he was a little too old to begin to read all the books of the whole classes. he selected the classic works from whole subjects, i.e. history, philosophy and anthology, that he thought which would best represent each subject. From these selected works he then picked out the most important chapters or parts of the works. Another motivation of the editing was for the stimulation of the reading life for Hong Suk-chu himself and for people like himself who were getting old and losing their vitality. The Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok consists of four categories. i.e. classics category, history category, philosophy category and anthology category, and in the catalogue, 26 different works are entered. The classics category has ten, the history category has six, the philosophy category has six and the anthology category has four. Each of the works are entered under the title of the book, and hen the chapter heading. The Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok was edited 19 years later than Hong-ssi toksorok(홍씨독서록) or an Annotated Bibliography of Korean and Chinese Books. Comparing each category of the catalogue with the Hong-ssi toksorok, the writer could catch the following characteristics. 1. Although there was no indication of the class heading, the sequence of the arrangement of the entries in the classics categories was the same as the sequence of the classes in the Hong-ssi toksorok. 2. The Zuo-shi Chun-qiu-zhuan(좌씨춘추전) is recorded in the class of Chunqiu of the classics category in the Hong-ssi toksorok, but in the Sabu-SongyuMongnok, it belongs to the history category. 3. In the philosophy category of the catalogue, Chuangtzu(장자) writings are included because it is so well written. 4. Unlike the categories of classics, history and anthology, the philosophy category is recorded under the author's name. This is fascinating because it unites with the conventional cataloguing practice of the west. 5. In the anthology category, the writings with the best styles from the Chuci(초사) or the poems of Chou, Wen-xuan(문선), wen-yuan-ying-hua(문여영화) are selected and classified into four parts: (1) poems, (2) proses of Han, Wei and Pre-Qin dynasties. (3) Si-liu-pian-li-wen(사육병려문), (4) classic style of writings of Tang and Song dynasties (당송고문). 6. There was an unusually large number of Han Yu's writings selected from the great eight poets of Tang and Song dynasty writings. (20 categories out of $43: 47\%)$ After comparing the entries of the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok, it can be concluded that all the entries were also included in the Hong-ssi tokrorok. The fact that the sequence of the entries in the classics category and that the literary works were sequenced under the same subject by the year of editing or writing like as the Hong-ssi toksorok Also it is unusual that there was not even one literary work of a Korean in the catalogue. Anyhow this catalogue is the first recitation catalogue in our country that was edited for the people in the prime of life as well as for old people and is the only one existing today.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of the mothers of science gifted in respect to giftedness compared to the "Scale for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students-R(SRBCSS-R)". For that, a survey of 18 mothers of elementary school science gifted and 32 mothers of middle school science gifted was conducted in relation to giftedness. The words and frame of this survey were analyzed using the Semantic Network Analysis. The results are as follows : The mothers of Elementary school science gifted perception were found to have a connected giftedness with reading, science, making something, etc.. On the other hand, the mothers of middle school science gifted perception were found to have a connected giftedness with problem, solving problem, mathematics, etc. in words analysis. The mothers of Elementary school science gifted have a strong connection with category on creativity, motivation, etc.. On the other hand, the mothers of middle school science gifted were more inclined towards the category on learning, motivation, etc. in frame analysis. That is to say, the mothers of science gifted are perceptive about giftedness respect to some elements as the "Scale for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students-R" on the giftedness. Therefore, a correct understanding about giftedness in respect to the mothers of science gifted is required and parent education is needed for appropriate science gifted education.
