  • This paper summarizes a design procedure of radiated noise from engine blocks of marine engines. This air-borne noise is one of the significant noise contributors including the aeroacoustic noise due to intake and exhaust and the re-radiation due to structure-borne noise. Excitation forces by engine operations are evaluated taking into account the power generation mechanism from the burning process to the subsequence motion of internal parts; piston, connecting rod, and crank shaft. The acoustic transfer vector method is incorporated to effectively simulate the radiated noise field under the various operation conditions. A contribution analysis for the various excitations to the radiated noise is conducted. It is found that the firing pressure is the main source of the radiated noise, and so the structure of the cylinder can be modified to significantly reduce the radiated noise from the engine block.

  • In this paper, the effect of Lorentz force on the stability of attitude orientation of a charged spacecraft moving in an elliptic orbit in the geomagnetic field is considered. Euler equations are used to derive the equations of attitude motion of a charged spacecraft. The equilibrium positions and its stability are investigated separately in the pitch, roll and yaw directions. In each direction, we use the Lorentz force to identify an attitude stabilization parameter. The analytical methods confirm that we can use the Lorentz force as a stabilization method. The charge-to-mass ratio is the main key of control, in addition to the components of the radius vector of the charged center of the spacecraft, relative to the center of mass of the spacecraft. The numerical results determine stable and unstable equilibrium positions. Therefore, in order to generate optimum charge, which may stabilize the attitude motion of a spacecraft, the amount of charge on the surface of spacecraft will need to be monitored for passive control.

  • Video FRUC (Frame Rate Up Conversion) is one of the main issues that have arisen in recent years with the explosive growth of video sources and display formats in consumer electronics. Most advanced FRUC algorithms adopt an efficient motion interpolation technique to determine the motion vector field of interpolated frames. But, in some application areas such as post processing in receiver side, it is necessary to evaluate how well the MCI (Motion Compensated Interpolation) frame was reconstructed. In order to achieve this aim, first, this paper introduces some cost functions to estimate the reliability of a block in the MCI frame. Then, by using these functions, this paper proposes two distortion estimation models for evaluating how much noise was produced in the MCI frame. Through computer simulations, it is shown that the proposed estimation methods perform effectively in estimating the noises of the MCI frame.

  • In this paper, we presents visual effect(water, fire, smoke) simulation and interaction system for TV virtual studio. TV virtual studio seamlessly synthesizes CG background and a live performer standing on a TV green studio. Previous virtual studios focus on the registration of CG background and a performer in real world. In contrast to the previous systems, we can afford to make new types of TV scenes more easily by simulating interactive visual effects according to a performer. This requires the extraction of the performer motion to be transformed 3D vector field and simulate fluids by applying the vector field to Navier Stokes equation. To add realism to water VFX simulation and interaction, we also simulate the dynamic behavior of splashing fluids on the water surface. To provide real-time recording of TV programs, real-time VFX simulation and interaction is presented through a GPU programming. Experimental results show this system can be used practically for realizing water, fire, smoke VFX simulation and the dynamic behavior simulation of fish flocks inside ocean.

  • A new intra-field deinterlacing algorithm with edge direction vector (EDV) in the image block is introduced. This proposed filter is suitable to the region with high motion or scene change. We first introduce an EDV, which is computed by Sobel mask used edge map, so that filer resolution of the edge direction can be acquired. The proposed EDV oriented deinterlacing system operates by identifying small pixel variations in five orientations, $26.5^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$, and $153.5^{\circ}$. The EDV values work as inputs of Sobel mask and return edge direction degree and confidence parameters. Based on edge direction degree and confidence parameters the missing pixel is computed. The results of computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms a number of intra-field deinterlacing methods in the literature.

  • This application study presents a solution to control a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor without sensors. The use of this system yields enhanced operations, fewer system components, lower system cost , energy efficient control system design and increased efficiency. The control method presented is field oriented control (FOC). The sinusoidal voltage waveforms are generated by the power module using the space vector modulation technique. A practical solution is described and results are given in this application Study. The performance of a Sensorless architecture allows an intelligent approach to reduce the complete system costs of digital motion control applications using cheaper electrical motors without sensors. This paper deals with an overview of sensorless solutions in digital motor control applications whereby the focus will be the new Controller without sensors and its applications.

  • The higher precision in manufacturing field is demanded, the more accurate servo controller is needed. To achieve the high precision, Koren proposed the cross-coupled control (CCC) method. The objective of the CCC is reducing the contour error rather than decreasing the individual axial error. The performance of CCC depends on the contour error model. In this paper we propose a new contour error model which utilizes contour error vector based on parametric curve interpolator. The experimental results show that the new CCC is more accurate than the variable-gain CCC during free-form curve motion.

  • A pneumatic servo valve which is widely applied in industrial field. And It is consist of force motor, spool & sleeve and servo controller. In this study. we developed the force motor which is consume to low power for a pneumatic servo valve. We could reduce the number of turn of the solenoid by using ferromagnetic permanent magnet and took different direction of each other using one coil instead of two coil. we modeled a system consisting of various electro-mechanical subsystems. The appropriateness of the model was verified by simulation. The simulation model resolved the motion of spool, the winding current and the magnetic force. Also, we calculated the displacement and velocity of the spool, flux contour line, b vector. flux density. flux linkage, back EMF etc.

  • The choice of the motion features influences the result of the human action recognition method directly. Many factors often influence the single feature differently, such as appearance of the human body, environment and video camera. So the accuracy of action recognition is restricted. On the bases of studying the representation and recognition of human actions, and giving fully consideration to the advantages and disadvantages of different features, the Dense Trajectories(DT) algorithm is a very classic algorithm in the field of behavior recognition feature extraction, but there are some defects in the use of optical flow images. In this paper, we will use the improved Dense Trajectories(iDT) algorithm to optimize and extract the optical flow features in the movement of human action, then we will combined with Support Vector Machine methods to identify human behavior, and use the image in the KTH database for training and testing.
