The Master-Slave manipulator is the generally used remote handling equipment in the hot cell, in which the high level radioactive materials such as spent fuels are handled. To analyze the motion and to implement the training system by virtual reality technology, the simulator for M-S manipulator using the computer graphics is developed. The parts are modelled in 3-D graphics, assembled, and kinematics are assigned. The inverse kinematics of the manipulator is defined, and the slave of manipulator is coupled with master by the manipulator's specification. Also, the virtual workcell is implemented in the graphical environment which is the same as the real environment. This graphic simulator of manipulator can be effectively used in designing of the maintenance processes for the hot cell equipment and enhance the reliability of the spent fuel management.

This paper addresses the problem of real-time tracking a high-speed ballistic target. Particle filters can be considered to overcome the nonlinearity in motion and measurement models in the ballistic target. However, it is difficult to apply particle filters to real-time systems because particle filters generally require much computation time. This paper proposes an accelerated particle filter using graphics processing unit (GPU) for real-time ballistic target tracking. The real-time performance of the proposed method was tested and analyzed on a widely-used embedded system. The comparison results with the conventional particle filter on CPU (central processing unit) showed that the proposed method improved the real-time performance by reducing computation time significantly.

Recently, public interest in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) has increased. Therefore, computer graphics-related research has been actively conducted. This has included research on virtual space related to human posture implementation. However, such research has focused on general posture in humans. This paper presents a system with reference to the basic posture in sports climbing and the inverse kinematics method for generating the positions and behavior of virtual characteristics in a three-dimensional virtual space. The simulation based on the inverse kinematics method, produced with an inverse kinematics solver and initial pose animation from motion capture, provides realistic and natural movement. We designed a simulation system to generate correct posture and motions similar to those in sports climbing by applying the basic procedure of sports climbing. The simulation system provides help for producing content about sports climbing, such as learning programs for novice climbers and sports climbing games.
A motion capture system is widely used in movies, computer game, and computer animation industries because it allows for creating realistic human motions efficiently. The inertial motion capture system has several advantages over more popular vision-based systems in terms of the required space and cost. However, it suffers from low accuracy due to the relatively high noise levels of the inertial sensors. In particular, the accelerometer used for measuring gravity direction loses the accuracy when the sensor is moving with non-zero linear acceleration. In this paper, we propose a method to remove the linear acceleration component from the accelerometer data in order to improve the accuracy of measuring gravity direction. In addition, we develop a simple method to calibrate the joint axis of a link to which an inertial sensor belongs as well as the position of a sensor with respect to the link. The calibration enables attaching inertial sensors in an arbitrary position and orientation with respect to a link.
This paper present a new technique for doing realistic computer animation. The method is based on forward dynamic simulation and nonlinear problem solving (parameter optimization) technique. Objects are modelled physically and simulated faithfully while satisfying kinematic and geometric constraints. This forward dynamic simulation gives us very realistic motions especially for non-voluntary motions. Then we extend simulation technique to do animation using parameter optimization. The basic idea is to add motion control over the entire animation. The motion control is finding optimal solutions while satisfying user's animation goals. We provide two different animation technique; one is for rigid body without joint actuators and the other is for rigid body with linear joint actuators. To achieve motion control, we convert single simulation to single nonliner function evaluation while either setting initial conditions as variables for the function or allocating control variables in terms of time. This method is presented with two animation examples: dice-magic and human stand-up.

The aim of this research is to analyze Perceived Usefulness(PU) and Perceived Ease of Use(PEOU) based on Technology Acceptance Model in , and how viewing experiences and knowledge of motion graphics have an impact on attitude toward using and behavioral intention to use. Both usability for learning and usability for appreciation in terms of PU have significant correlations with the degree of satisfaction and immersion, and behavioral intention to use. On the other hand, PEOU has an influence on degree of exhibition satisfaction and immersion, and onto behavioral intention to use with the exception of intention to revisiting . Unlike PU or PEOU, previous viewing experiences do not have correlation with attitude toward using and behavioral intention to use. Only previous knowledge of motion graphics has a correlation with degree of satisfaction and immersion, and behavioral intention to use. As the influence on PU and PEOU's attitude toward using and and behavioral intention to use has been verified, our findings show that two variables of TAM enable the prediction of user's technology acceptance on digital exhibitions and as a result prove the suitability for TAM as an evaluation model for digital exhibition of remediating the originals. This study offers a fresh understanding of the importance of motion graphic effects which influence attitude toward using and behavioral intention to use from the perspective of curating methodology.
