저소득층 자녀를 위한 의료비지원이 여성노동공급에 미치는 영향: 미국의 저소득층 자녀를 위한 의료보험프로그램 사례 (The Effect of Public Medical Support for Children on Single Mother's Labor Supply)

  • 이 논문은 미국에서 1997년에 새롭게 제공된 "저소득층의 어린이와 임산부를 위한 의료지출 보조프로그램"이 미혼모 또는 편모 가정의 모친의 노동공급에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 1999년부터 2005년까지의 CPS(Current Population Survey)의 여성노동인구 자료를 사용하였다. Probit 모델과 Heckman Two-Step Model을 사용하여 통계분석을 해본 결과, 의료지출 보조프로그램과 평균 노동시간은 통계적으로 유의한 정(正)의 상관관계를 나타내었고, 노동시장 참여는 비유의적인 통계 결과를 발견하였다.

가족배경변인과 시간제취업경험이 청소년의 직업소망에 미치는 영향: 경로분석을 중심으로 (Influence of Family and Work Experience on Occupational Aspirations of Adolescents: A Path Model)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a theoretical model from which to test the influence of family background and work experience on the level of rural high school students' (N=381) occupational aspirations. In the basic model, mother's occupation directly influenced occupational aspirations. Father's education influenced occupational aspirations directly and also indirectly through students' academic achievement. The number of working hours per week had a direct and negative influence on academic achievement. In a different path, working hours had an indirect positive influence on academic achievement through parents' different treatment which especially focused on the fact that parents gave students more freedom compared to the relationship they shared before the students began to work. Enjoying school, studying homework, and extra reading were influenced by students' number of working hours. Two variables, extra reading and job characteristics, predict the social acceptance work attitudes which are a direct predictor of occupational aspirations. Academic achievement had a greater total effect on the level of occupational aspirations than any other variables.

판매직 주부의 공평성인지도 ${\cdot}$ 역할스트레스 및 생활만족도에 관한 연구 (Perceived Equity, Role Stress and Life Satisfaction of Married Working-Mother Salesclerks)

  • The main purpose of the research was to prove, in a practical sense, the relationship among perceived equity, role stress and life satisfaction of employed wives working in sales departments. The subjects were employed wives working in sales departments who have at least one child and a spouse, living in Seoul and the Metropolitan area. The final data analysis used 487 out of 668 questionnaires. Statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS/PC WIN which included frequencies, mean, percentages, Pearson's correlation, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study were as follows: 1) As their education level was low, the education level of their spouse was high, the communication level between couples was high, and the self-oriented perfectionism was low, their perceived emotional relationship was equal. As they were old, the communication level between couples was high, and the self-oriented perfectionism was low, their perceived position in sharing household chores was equal. On the other hand, as they were younger, the education level of their spouse was high, the reason for getting a job lay in supporting the family, and overtime hours worked, there was a higher level of role stress. 2) The influential variables which affect the life satisfaction, in order of importance, were communication level between couples, mother's role stress, age, non-financial reason of getting a job, and sharing household works. For relative contribution degree about life satisfaction, psychological variables among independent variables were revealed as the most influential ones. Thus, efficient communication between couples affected the life satisfaction to a great degree. Furthermore, the study proved that not only role stress variables but also perceived equity variables contributed to the life satisfaction.

어머니의 양육태도와 영아의 기질 및 조화적합성이 보육시설 적응에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Mother's Child-rearing Attitude, Temperament and Goodness of Fit of Infant's on Adjustment to Childcare Center)

  • 본 연구는 영아와 어머니의 배경변인에 따라 어머니의 양육태도에는 어떠한 차이가 있으며 어머니의 양육태도와 영아의 기질 및 조화적합성이 보육시설에서의 적응에 어떠한 영향과 요인들 간의 미치는 상대적 영향력은 어떠한지를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위한 연구대상은 현재 서울과 경기도 및 제주특별자치도 지역에 소재한 총 8개 보육시설에 재원중인 만2세 영아 165명과 어머니, 그리고 보육시설에서의 영아의 담임교사들을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구결과 영아의 성별과 출생순위, 보육경험과 하루 평균 보육시설 이용시간, 그리고 어머니의 연령, 어머니 직업의 배경변인에는 차이가 없으나 어머니의 교육수준, 가정의 윌 평균 수입과 어머니의 주당 근로시간(일주일)에 따라 어머니의 양육태도는 차이가 있고, 보육시설 적응에 미치는 영향은 어머니의 통제적 태도와 긍정적 태도 그리고 영아의 규칙적 기질이었으며 보육시설에서의 전체적응에 미치는 상대적 영향력은 어머니의 통제적 태도와 긍정적 태도로 나타났다. 즉 어머니의 통제적 태도, 긍정적 태도가 높을수록 보육시설 전체 적응력이 높아지는 것을 알 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 어머니가 자녀를 엄격하게 통제하거나 자녀행동에 대해 통제하고자 하는 강한 엄포 분위기를 조성하기보다는 어머니가 자녀와 긍정적인 관계를 맺으며 개개 자녀에게 맞는 규칙과 훈육 및 적절한 통제성을 제시하여 자녀에 대해 긍정적으로 평가하는 양육태도로서 영아가 가정에서 어릴 적부터 부모로부터 긍정적 모자관계 형성을 통해 옳고 그름의 적절한 통제와 규칙과 규율을 배우면서 기본생활의 습관화 교육을 받은 자녀가 보육시설에서도 적응에 어려움이 없다는 의미로 해석 할 수 있다.

청소년의 여가활동과 어머니의 여가지도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Leisure Activity of Young People and the Leisure Guidance of Mothers)

  • This study deals with the following problems about leisure activity of young people and leisure guidance of mothers, (1) Leisure activity of children by the independent variables, (2) Leisure guidance of mothers by the independent variables. (3) The relation between leisure guidance of mothers and leisure activity of young people. This research used the questionaire survey. The subjects were 830 couples of mother and pupil (pupils of 4, 5 and t grades in six primary school in Kwang-Ju city). The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, t, F-test, X2. The results of this study are summarized as follows; (1) Boys and girls average leisure hours: week days…2 hour, saturday…3 hours, Sunday and holiday…4.5 hours, the school vacation…6.2 hours. And leisure activity showed the significant difference in sex, age, educational level, family form (p 0.001, p 0.05, p 0.010). Generally, they had social & amusing leisure activity. And a hindrance cause of leisure activ ty is due to hard working in learning practice. (2) The necessity of leisure activity showed higher in the aged mother and high educated mother, lower in the poor family. And guidance content showed the significant difference in sex of children(p 0.001), educational level of parents(p 0.05). Actually mothers wanted intellectual leisure activity. (3) The relation between the leisure activity pattern desired by leisure activity of mothers and children pattern showed that mothers demanded the various patterns, but children wanted social & amusing leisure activities mainly. Only children's patterns agreed with mothers in the artistic, intellectual, activities on Saturday and during the vacation. And the relation between mothers satisfaction degree in the leisure activity of children and children's satisfaction degree showed the significant difference (p 0.05). Children's satisfaction degree is high, irrespective of mothers satisfaction degree.

취업모의 직업 특성이 양육행동과 영유아의 운동.사회.인지 발달에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mothers' Job Characteristics on Parenting Behaviors and Young Children's Motor, Social, and Cognitive Development)

  • Using samples of working mothers with 0-to-47 month old children extracted from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY), this study investigated effects of mothers' job characteristics on parenting behaviors and young children's motor, social, and cognitive development. Date were analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results indicated that (1) job dissatisfaction was negatively related to children's development. (2) Working fewer hours was positively associated with mothers' cognitively stimulating parenting behaviors. (3) Total earnings were a positive predictor of mothers' emotional support. (4) The availability of a flexible hour benefit was positively related to mothers' cognitive stimulation level but the availability of a paid sick and vacation days combined benefit was negatively related to mothers' cognitively stimulating parenting behavior.

자녀의 초등학교 입학이 취업모의 근로조건에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Children's Elementary School Entrance on Working Conditions of Employed Mothers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자녀의 초등학교 입학이 취업모의 근로조건을 어떻게 변화시키는지 살펴보는 것이었다. 분석을 위해 육아정책연구소에서 실시하는 한국아동패널 4-8차년도 자료를 활용하였다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 자녀의 초등학교 입학이 어머니의 임금, 근로시간, 상용직 취업확률에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 분석 결과의 내생성(endogeneity)를 통제하기 위해 균형패널 데이터를 대상으로 회귀불연속설계를 사용하여 분석한 결과와 불균형패널 데이터를 대상으로 Heckman 선택모형을 사용하여 분석한 결과를 비교하여 제시하였다. 분석결과 자녀의 초등학교 입학은 어머니의 임금수준, 근로시간, 상용직 취업확률에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 자녀의 초등학교 입학이 단순히 여성의 경력단절 문제뿐만 아니라 양질의 일자리에 진입하는 것을 어렵게 만들 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

유자녀 취업여성이 경험하는 일-가정 균형에 관련된 변인에 대한 연구 (A Study on Factors Related to Work-family Balance of Working Women with Children)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors related to how Korean working mothers balance work and family. We used the first year data of 1661 working mothers participating Korean Longitudinal Study of Women and Families. When mothers were living with their parents-in-law, reported higher level of work-family spillover; whereas satisfaction with husband's household chores was more their related to lower level of work-family spillover. Attitudes placing lower priority on family, disagreement on their works with husband, and traditional family role perception were related to higher level of work-family interference. We also found that salary, working hours, job satisfaction, and a series of maternity protection programs, including maternity leave, were significantly related to work-family balance.

Latent Growth Model of Maternal Depressive Symptoms: Predictors and Effects on Infant's Developmental Outcomes

  • The present study investigated the developmental pattern of Korean mothers' depressive symptoms from a week prior to birth through four months postpartum in a nationally represented survey sample in Korea, using a Latent Growth Curve model. Mother-reported four factors-maternal self-efficacy in parenting, father's participation in childcare, a number of hours mothers worked per week, child's emotional temperament-were examined as the predictors of depressive symptoms over time in the context of Korean culture. Effects of maternal depressive trajectories on their infants' developmental outcomes at the first year were also examined. Findings were as follows: First, mothers' reports of depressive symptoms decreased at the first month after birth and then increased again during the first 4 months postpartum. Second, mothers' perceived low spousal involvement in childcare, low parental self-efficacy, and their infants' difficult temperament at four-month old had significantly positive relations to the initial level of maternal depressive symptoms whereas the low spousal involvement in childcare and low maternal self-efficacy factors significantly predicted the changes of trajectories of maternal depressive symptoms. Third, the trajectories, in turn, predicted warm and responsive maternal parenting style at the fourth month. Subsequently, the parenting style had a significant longitudinal impact on the development of children's communication, problem-solving, and personal-social abilities. Based on these findings, awareness, preventive and interventional programs might be built to facilitate Korean mothers suffering severe postpartum depressive symptoms and further promote optimal early development of Korean children.

영아기질에 대한 양육자의 지각 차이 및 기질과 양육자와의 상호작용 관계 (Relations Between Infant Temperament by Caregivers' Perceptions and Infant-Caregiver Interactions)

  • Subjects were 78 12- to 35- month old infants, their mothers, and their teachers. Instruments included the Revised Toddler Temperament Questionnaire(Y. H. Choi 1990) and the Assessment Profile for Early Childhood Programs(M. K. Hong 1997; S. K. Kim 1999). There was no significant difference in perceptions of infant temperament between mothers and teachers. Infant-mother interaction differed by infant temperament in that mothers had high scores with easy infants but low scores with difficult children. On the other hand teachers maintained high interactions with difficult infants in the case of infant's rhythmicity. Infant-teacher interaction correlated with such teacher variables as teacher-infant ratio, teachers' academic backgrounds and working hours.
