  • High-resolution $^1H$ NMR spectroscopic technique has been widely used as one of the most powerful analytical tools in food chemistry as well as to define molecular structure. The $^1H$ NMR spectra-based metabolomics has focused on classification and chemometric analysis of complex mixtures. The principal component analysis (PCA), an unsupervised clustering method and used to reduce the dimensionality of multivariate data, facilitates direct peak quantitation and pattern recognition. Using a combination of these techniques, the various green teas and black teas brewed were investigated via metabolite profiling. These teas were characterized based on the leaf size and country of cultivation, respectively.

  • In Jamaica Kincaid's novel Lucy, the narrator grows up with the burden of colonial legacies embedded with Englands' imperial disciplinary projects, its language, educational institutions, discourses. Colonial education interpellates the narrator into a colonial subject through its multiple ideological discourses and systems. Teaching the literature of England is the most insidious form of the Empire's disciplinary colonial projects, more powerful than military enforcement: Its mode of operation is creating phantasy and instigating and planting desire for such phantasy. As Homi Bhabha aptly theorizes as colonial mimicry and ambivalence, the narrator as colonial subject grows up split and confused as an ambivalent subject, simultaneously mimicking and desiring for the phantasized England as real, while resisting and criticizing such up-bringing and mimetic desire. This paper explores Kincaid's rhetorical strategy of employing Wordsworth's poem, "I Wandered as a Lonely Cloud," especially her use of the flower "daffodil." Employing the concept of "daffodil gap" suggested by postcolonial critics, this paper closely examines two episodes involving the flower daffodil in the novel, one in a colonial classroom and the other in a garden in a new world and suggests that Kincaid accomplishes intertextual critique of colonial education and imperial projects.

  • The concordance LCDM model has been very successful at reproducing a wide range of observations. However, the nature of its main components, such as dark energy, dark matter, and inflation, are still unkown. Therefore, it is of prime importance to question the underlying hypotheses of the model and tests there prediction. While most constraints have been obtained assuming a LCDM universe, model-independent approaches, which do not make assumptions regarding the model, are a powerful approach. To falsify the LCDM model, I applied model-indepedent methods to the latests available data to test different aspects of the concordance model, such as the FLRW metric, the curvature, dark energy as the cosmological constant, and gravity as general relativity. The Universe is consistent with flat-LCDM with GR. However, at z>1, tensions start to appear, and more data are required.

  • The therapeutic use of protein pharmaceuticals produced by recombinant DNA technology is increasing in recent decades. In order to investigate the quality of recombinant proteins, it is important to identify and assign the impurities produced in the process of recombination or in storage conditions. Capillary Electrophoresis is emerging technology exhibiting high sensitivity, selectivity and speed and may be most powerful tools for this application. In this study, human growth hormone (hGH) has been analyzed by various mode of capillary electrophoresis such as capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE), capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), and capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF) to indicate the chemically or biologically oriented variants and the degraded fragments. • Clustering is a most powerful un-supervised machine learning techniques for division of instances into homogenous group, which is called cluster. This Clustering is mainly used for generating a good quality of cluster through which we can discover hidden patterns and knowledge from the large datasets. It has huge application in different field like in medicine field, healthcare, gene-expression, image processing, agriculture, fraud detection, profitability analysis etc. The goal of this paper is to explore both hierarchical as well as partitioning clustering and understanding their problem with various approaches for their solution. Among different clustering K-means is better than other clustering due to its linear time complexity. Further this paper also focused on data mining that dealing with high-dimensional datasets with their problems and their existing approaches for their relevancy

  • MSRDS(Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio) provides the ability to simulate these technologies. SPL(Simple Programming Language) of MSRDS provides many functions for sensor programming to control autonomous robots. Sensor programming in SPL can be implemented in two types of schemes: procedure sensor notification and while-loop schemes. We considered the three programming schemes to control the robot movement after studying the advantages and disadvantages of the sensor notification procedure and the while-loop scheme. We also created simulation environments to evaluate the performance of the three considered schemes when applied to four different mazes. The simulation environment consisted of a maze and a robot with the most powerful sensor, i.e., the LRF(Laser Range Finder) sensor. We measured the required travel time and robot actions (number of turns and number of collisions) needed to escape the maze and compared the performance outcomes of the three considered schemes in the four different mazes.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a role as healing music through Hoesimgok's interaction. The song "Hoesimgok (悔心曲, 回心曲, Regretting Song)" means a song that expresses regret. There's nothing more desperate than my parents in a song of regret. Your heart for your late parents must be the thing you regret the most. We always think that we should be filial to my parents, but we can't. We are under a lot of stress due to situations and environments that are unintentionally not filial. Audiences who show self-reflection on their filial piety become emotional identities with those who sing with the lyrics and actions of songs and music. Therefore, Hoesimgok is a song and a prayer. Music exerts a range of powerful biological effects beyond nice sound and furthermore, it is expanding to music therapy. It can also bring about peace of mind by regulating sympathetic nervous system excitation. Our results suggest that Hoesimgok can have the effect of making listeners as well as singers happy.

  • Versatile Video Coding (VVC) is the most recent video coding standard, which had been developed by Joint Video Expert Team (JVET). It can improve significant coding performance compared to the previous standard, namely High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). Although VVC can achieve the powerful coding performance, it requires the tremendous computational complexity of VVC encoder. Especially, affine motion compensation (AMC) was adopted the block-based 4-parameter or 6-parameter affine prediction to overcome the limit of translational motion model while VVC require the cost of higher encoding complexity. In this paper, we proposed the early termination of AMC that determines whether the affine motion estimation for AMC is performed or not. Experimental results showed that the proposed method reduced the encoding complexity of affine motion estimation (AME) up to 16% compared to the VVC Test Model 17 (VTM17).

  • Reinforced concrete frames with a masonry infill panel is a structural typology frequently used worldwide. In seismic cases, the interaction between the masonry infill and the RC frames constitutes one of the most complex subjects in earthquake engineering. In this work, an enhancement of an existing numerical model is proposed to improve the estimation of lateral strength and stiffness of masonry-infilled frame structures and predict their probable failure modes. The proposed improvement is based on attributing corrective coefficients to the shear strength of each diagonal shear spring of the macro element, which simulates the masonry infill. The improved numerical model is validated by comparing the results with those of the original numerical model and with experimental results available in the literature. The enhanced macro element model can be used as a powerful, accessible tool for assessing the capacity and stiffness of masonry-infilled frame structures and predicting their probable failure modes.
