This paper describes the implementation of the machine vision system and the method of classifying the objects. Its system described in this paper is consisted of robot, conveyer system, warehouse, and machine vision. This system first recognizes the object on conveyer, and then robot moves it to the warehouse. The position of the object on conveyer is always not constant, because it is not easy to extract the feature of its object and classify it into one of several categories. In this paper, to classify or inspect the pattern of the object, we propose the method of template matching using feature vector such as position invariant moment and mophological operation such as opening and closing. And we indentified an unregistered object using unsuperviser learning method and assigned it to the new pattern. We implemented its system and obtained satisfied results.
This paper proposes a Korean-Japanese Machine Translation System that processes unregistered words, modifiers and compound sentences. In mophological analysis, the unregistered words are processed by using unregistered word processing algorithm. The modifiers are processed by consulting noun-attributes and grammar rules. The compound sentence processing algorithm recognizes whether the sentence that includes commas is compound sentence or not. This system performs on IBM-PC/AT DOS using Prolog-1.

The strain which produced highly viscous exopolysaccharides (EPS) in liquid culture was selected from soil. The strain was supposed to Bacillus sp. from the results of mophological, biochemical and physiological tests. The medium composition for EPS production was trypton 0.75%, sucrose 4%, CaCO3 0.01%, Winogradsky's nitrogen free mineral medium 5ml/l and pH 7.0. In 2-l jar fernenter, the viscosity of culture broth after 120-hr cultivation time was very high (60, 000 cps) and the amount of EPS was 6.2g/l.

To study the effects of dietry methionine level on lipid peroxidation of rats, rats were fed vitamin E, selenium and methionine - deficient diet or the same diet supplemented with various levels(0.3%, 0.6%, 0.9%) of methionine for 6 weeks. The biochemincal and mophological changes in the rat liver were investigated. Lipid peroxide levels in plasma and hepatic mitochondrial fraction of MF rats were more increased than those of control rats. However, supplementation with 0.6% methionine modified this increment. Catalase activity was decreased in hepatic mitochondrial fraction from rats fed MF diet. Methionine supplementation did not induce this enzyme. The ultrastructural evidence for lipid peroxidation was found in plasma membranes facing sinusoids. The most striking changes in including disruption and loss of microvilli and development of numerous lipid droplets occurred in rats fed MF diet. These changes were not effectively prevented by the same diet supplemented with 0.3% or 0.9% methionine, but supplementation with 0.6% methionine modulated more or less the changes.

Mathematical morphology based on set theory is easy to be implemented in parallel and can be applied to various fields in image analysis. Particularly mophological pattern spectrum can detect critical scales in an image object and quantify various aspects of the shape-size content. In this paper, texture classification using pattern spectrum based on morphological subband decomposition is porposed. The low-low band extracts pattern spectrum features, and the high-low, low-high, and high-high bands extrack the structural information. This approach has the advantages of efficient information extraction, less time-consuming, high accuacy, less computation, and parallel implementation.
A bacterium, named as strain KL34, producing extracellular pectinase was isolated from soil. The mophological cheracteristics of the isolated bacterium were gram-negative, rod-shaped and endospore unformed. Production of pectinase of strain KL34 was induced only by polygalacturonic acid added to the culture media as a sole carbon source. Pectinase activity of KL34 reached a maximum value in the culture conditions of pH 8.5 at $25^{\circ}C$. Optimal medium for pectinase production was determined to the composition of 2% polygalacturonic acid, 0.25% yeast extract, 0.02% $K_2HPO_4$, 0.02% $CaCl_2$, and 0.05% KCl per liter. The pectinase activity in the culture supernatant reached the highest amount of 54 U/ml after 3 days cultivation in the optimal media.
By the successive enrichment culture, methanol-utilizing bacteria of 213 strains were isolated from soil samples collected from various places. Among them one strain showing excellent growth was selected. The organism isolated was obligate methylotroph and identified as Methylomonas methanolica on the basis of its mophological and physiological characteristics of the cell. The medium have been to be collected for the maximum biomass productivity. The microorganism was capable of growing satisfactorily on a medium containing only methanol 0.8% (v/v), ammonium sulfate 0.6%, magnesium sulfate 0.1%, phosphate salts, but did not require growth factor.

In order to extract motion features from an input image acquired by a static CCD-camera in a restricted area, we need a robust algorithm to cope with noise sensitivity and condition change. In this paper, we proposed an efficient algorithm to extract and track motion features in a noisy environment or with sudden condition changes. We extract motion features by considering a change of neighborhood pixels when moving objects exist in a current frame with an initial background. To remove noise in moving regions, we used a morphological filter and extracted a motion of each object using 8-connected component labeling. Finally, we provide experimental results and statistical analysis with various conditions and models.

In order to examine the injury of vascular endothelial cells related with oxidative stress of reactive oxygen species(ROS), mophological changes of vascular endothelial cells were observed by light microscope after bovine pulmonary vascular endothelial cell line (BPVEC) was treated with 15 uM of hydrogen peroxide. In addition, the effect of vitamin E against ROS-induced oxidative stress was examined by light microscope. In this study, the cell number of BPVEC treated with ROS has significantly decreased than that of control, and the loss of cytoplasmic processes and cell swelling were observed in BPVEC treated with ROS. Whereas, cell number of BPVEC treated with vitamin E has significantly increased than that of BPVEC treated with ROS and also, cytoplasmic processes of BPVEC treated with vitamin E were preserved as control. These findings suggested that not only did ROS induce damage of BPVES by decrease of cell number, loss of cytoplasmic processes and cell swelling, but vitamin E also has protective effect against ROS-induced oxidative stress in cultures of BPVEC.
