프리캐스트 콘크리트 모듈러 보 시스템의 휨 성능에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flexural Performance of Precast Concrete Modular Beam Systems)

  • Precast concrete (PC) modules have been increased its use in modular buildings due to their better seismic performance than steel modules. The main issue of the PC module is to ensure structural performance with appropriate connection methods. This study proposed a PC modular beam system for simple construction and improved structural and splicing performance. This modular system consisted of modules with steel plates inserted, and it is easy to construct by bolted connection. The steel plates play the role of tensile rebar and stirrup, which has the advantage of structural performance. The structural performance of the proposed PC modular beam system was evaluated by flexural test on one reinforced concrete (RC) beam specimen consisting of a monolithic, and two PC specimens with the proposed PC modular beam system. The results demonstrated that the proposed PC modular beam system achieved approximately 86% of the structural performance compared to the RC monolithic specimen, with similar ductility of approximately 1.06 fold greater.

  • 본 연구에서는 효율적인 광원과 광도파로간의 결합방법으로서 많은 연구가 진행중인 monolithic laser-waveguide coupler 특성해석에 beam propagation method를 도입하여 기존의 방법과 비교검토 한 결과 타당성을 입증할 수 있었으며, 또한 결합효율을 향상시키기 위하여 taper 구조를 가진 monlithic laser-waveguide coupler를 제시하였다. monolithic laser-waveguide coupler는 능동소자인 laser의 특성과 수동소자인 waveguide의 특성을 동시에 가지고 있으므로 고려하여야할 요소가 매우 많고, 또 각 요소들의 변화에 따라 결합기의 성능이 크게 좌우되므로 그 특성 연구가 많은 어려움이 있었다. 때문에 본 연구에서는 방향성 결합기를 사용한 모델을 해석하는 방법으로 기존의 coupled mode 이론을 사용할 수도 있겠으나, 본 연구에서와 같이 많은 변수를 가지는 경우의 해석에는 적용하기 어렵다는 단점 때문에 beam propagation method를 사용한 해석을 시도하였다. 또한 해석에 있어서 가장 기본이 되는 초기전개의 계산에서도 종래의 연구에서와 달리 근사식을 이용해 전계를 계산하지 않고, 주어진 구조에 대하여 직접 finite difference method를 적용하여 초기전계를 구하였다. 이러한 새로운 시도들이 가지는 잇점을 방법과 비교하여 알아 보았으며, 새로운 방법의 적용을 통하여 보다 많은 변수를 고려하여 monolithic laser-waveguide coupler의 특성을 연구할 수 있었다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 결합기의 특성을 파악하고 그 결과로 monolothic laser-waveguide coupler의 특성중 가장 중요한 결합특성을 향상 시키기 위해서 taper영역을 가지는 monolothic laser-waveguide coupler를 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 구조에 대하여 특성을 조사해본 결과 79%정도의 좋은 결합효율을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • We describe an optimal alignment method for improving accuracy of dynamic spectroscopic polarimeter based on monolithic polarizing interferometer. The dynamic spectroscopic polarimeter enables real-time measurements of spectral ellipsometric parameters by using a spectral carrier frequency concept. However, the non-polarizing beam splitter used in the monolithic polarizing interferometer cannot maintain the polarization state perfectly due to phase retardation caused by optical anisotropic characteristics of the non-polarizing beam splitter, resulting in degraded measurement accuracy. The effect of the beam splitter can be minimized through optimal alignment of the polarizers used in the polarizing interferometer and the analyzer. We demonstrate how much the proposed alignment method can enhance the measurement accuracy by comparing with previous alignment approach.

반복하중을 받는 프리캐스트 콘크리트 보-기둥 접합부의 거동 연구 (Performance of Precast Concrete Beam-Column Connections Subjected to Cyclic Loading)

  • In this study, a moment resisting precast concrete beam-column connection is proposed. An experimental study was carried out to investigate the connection behavior subjected to cyclic loading. Three precast beam-column interior connections and one monolithic connection were tested. Variable included the detailing used at the joint to achieve structural constructability and the location of mild steel reinforcement and high strength bar. During specimen fabrication, the joint details enables ease and speed of construction. Connection performance is evaluated on the basis of ductility, energy dissipation capacity, connection strength, and drift capacity. Based on test results, the precast concrete beam-column connection is capable of matching or exceeding the performance of the monolithic connection.

  • In this study, a simple moment-resisting precast concrete beam-column connection is proposed for highly seismic zone using dywidag ductile rod [DDC]. DDC is superior system for ductility, energy dissipation capacity, connection strength, and drift capacity. A study was carried out to investigate the connection behavior subjected to cyclic inelastic loading. Four Precast beam-column interior connections and one monolithic connection will be tested. The variables will be examined were the strength relationship between joint's ductile rod and beam reinforcement for gain energy dissipation capacity. The specimens will be tested only reverse cyclic loading in accordance with a prescribed displacement history. Connection performance is evaluated on the basis of ductility, energy dissipation capacity, connection strength, and drift capacity. the precast connection using DDC is capable of matching of exceeding the performance of the monolithic connection and thereby provides moment-resisting behavior.

연결 플레이트를 사용한 프리캐스트 콘크리트 모듈러 보의 전단성능 (Shear Behaviour of Precast Concrete Modular Beam Using Connecting Plate)

  • The Precast concrete(PC) modular structures are a method of assembling pre-fabricated unit modules in the construction site. The essential aim of modular structures is to introduce a connection method that can ensure splicing performance and effectively resist shear strength. This study proposed PC module using a connecting plate that can replace splice sleeves and shear keys used in the conventional PC modular structures. To evaluate the splicing performance and shear capacity of the proposed method, the shear test was conducted by fabricating one monolithic reinforced concrete(RC) beam and two PC modular beams with a shear span-to-depth ratio as variables. The experimental results showed that the shear capacity of the PC modular beam was about 89% compared to that of the RC beam, and showed a failure of the RC beam according to the shear span-to-depth ratio. Therefore, it was considered that the connecting plate effectively transferred the stress between each PC module through the joint and ensure integrity. In addition, the applicability of shear strength equation of ACI 318-19 and Zsutty's equation to PC modular beams were evaluated. Results demonstrated that the improved shear strength equations are needed to consider reduction of shear strength in PC modules.

  • When the laser diode is operated with continuous current, the light intensity from the laser diode deceases with time due to the temperature rise in the active layer. The phenomena, which is often called as DROOP, should be minimized in order to be used as a light source for the laser beam printer. We experimently examined the influences of the laser parameters such as threshold current, differential quantum efficiency on droop. It was found that decreasing the differential quantum efficiency of the laser diode is the effective way to minimize droop.

The bearing capacity of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab throughout fire process

  • To investigate the failure form, bending stiffness, and residual bearing capacity of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab throughout the fire process, fire tests of four monolithic composite beams with laminated slab were performed under constant load and temperature increase. Different factors such as post-pouring layer thickness, lap length of the prefabricated bottom slab, and stud spacing were considered in the fire test. The test results demonstrate that, under the same fire time and external load, the post-pouring layer thickness and stud spacing are important parameters that affect the fire resistance of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab. Similarly, the post-pouring layer thickness and stud spacing are the predominant factors affecting the bending stiffness of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab after fire exposure. The failure forms of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab after the fire are approximately the same as those at room temperature. In both cases, the beams underwent bending failure. However, after exposure to the high-temperature fire, cracks appeared earlier in the monolithic composite beams with laminated slab, and both the residual bearing capacity and bending stiffness were reduced by varying degrees. In this test, the bending bearing capacity and ductility of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab after fire exposure were reduced by 23.3% and 55.4%, respectively, compared with those tested at room temperature. Calculation methods for the residual bearing capacity and bending stiffness of monolithic composite beams with laminated slab in and after the fire are proposed, which demonstrated good accuracy.

Cooling Geometry Dependent Operation Properties in a Diode End-Pumped Monolithic Yb:YAG Laser

  • Operation properties, such as output power, beam radius, and crystal temperature rise were investigated in a diode-pumped edge-cooled monolithic Yb:YAG laser with ~ 4 W pumping level. The output power showed saturation behavior because of severe temperature rise and poor spatial overlapping between pump beam and lasing mode. Face cooling geometry by using a sapphire plate was also investigated. No apparent saturation behavior in output power was observed due to the reduced temperature rise, which could be attributed to efficient heat removal through the crystal-sapphire interface.

프리캐스트 콘크리트 U형 쉘 공법 보-기둥 접합부의 내진성능 (Earthquake Resistance of Beam-Column Connection of Precast Concrete U-Shaped Shell Construction)

  • 이 연구에서는 프리캐스트 콘크리트(PC) U형 쉘을 사용하는 PC 모멘트 골조의 일부인 보-기둥 내부접합부의 내진성능을 평가하기 위하여 실험연구를 수행하였다. 5개의 PC 보-기둥 내부접합부와 1개의 현장타설 콘크리트 보-기둥 내부접합부를 실물 크기로 제작하여 반복가력 실험을 수행하였다. 주요 변수는 보 주철근비, 보 전단철근 간격, U형 PC쉘과 기둥 모서리의 보강철물 설치 유무이다. 실험 결과, 변수에 관계없이 PC 보-기둥 접합부는 현장타설 콘크리트 보-기둥 접합부와 비교하여 유사한 하중재하능력, 연성능력을 나타냈다. 그러나 주기 하중동안 PC 보-기둥 접합부는 보-기둥 이음부에서 보 주철근의 부착파괴로 인한 미끄러짐 변형과 대각방향의 전단균열로 인하여 심한 강도 저하를 나타냈고, 이로 인해 현장타설 콘크리트 보-기둥 접합부보다 접합부의 강성과 에너지소산능력이 감소되었다.
