Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique can speak the best candidate of the future molecular electronic devices. But, precursor as molecular ultrathin film devices require the bulk property that are influenced by the molecular orientation. So, this device is one of current interest in molecular electronic device development of new materials. In this study, quantitative evaluation of molecular orientation in LB films of polyamic acid alkylamine salt was performed analysis experiment comparing the absorption or transmission intensity of the FT-IR spectrometer and reflection or absorption spectra with UV-visible absorption spectra. It could find that the polar angle(${\theta}$) of the dipole moment appears in about $68^{\circ}$ and the tilting angle of the alkyl chain is about $11.5^{\circ}$.
The understanding on the plant genome is accelerated with the fast advance of molecular biological techniques. The molecular dissecting of the plant genome has made possible the precise genotyping the plants, which can be utilized for molecular breeding program. As well, the molecular cloning of genes interested can facilitate the process of gene transfer between intra-and inter-generic taxa. Moreover, the manipulation of the agronomically important QTL genes, which can be rarely performed by the conventional genetic methods, is also possible by the utilization of molecular markers. In addition to these genetical applications, molecular markers are useful in the areas of plant taxonomy and management of germplasm by fingerprinting analysis. This paper describes the theoretical aspects marker technologies and practical applications of each marker technique.
In this study we have investigated the determination of proper time step in molecular dynamics simulation.Since the molecular dynamics is mathematically related to nonlinear dynamics, the analysis of eigenvalues isused to explain the relationship between the time step and dynamics. The tracings of H2 and CO2 molecular dynamics simulation agrees very well with the analytical solutions. For H2, the time step less than 1.823 fs pro-vides stable dynamics. ForCO2, 3.808 fs might be the maximum time step for proper molecular dynamics. Al-though this results were derived for most simple cases of hydrogen and carbon dioxide, we could quantitatively explain why improperly large time step destroyed the molecular dynamics. From this study we could set the guide line of the proper time step for stable dynamics simulation in molecular modeling software.
A derivatization method in mass spectrometry for small molecular analysis was developed to solve the problems of volatility of many analytes, difficult ionization of analytes, and undiscriminating isobaric analytes. This derivatization method, oximation of $\alpha$-ketoacid, in the transaminase reaction leads to change of mass difference between amine reactants and ketoacid products. In addition, regardless of the kinds of ketoacid, the linear relationship between the peak intensity and its concentration (from 1 mM to 10 mM) shows that quantitative analysis of the conversion of the reaction can be executed by the analysis of peak intensity of the corresponding oximated ketoacids. Furthermore, this method can be used for identifying transaminase as well as determining its substrate specificity
A selection of commercially available poly(ethy1ene terephtha1ate) fibers with different degrees of molecular alignment and crystallinity have been investigated utilizing a wide range of techniques including optical microscopy, infrared spectroscopy together with thermal and wide-angle X-ray diffraction techniques. Annealing experiments showed increased molecular alignment and crystallinity as shown by the increased values of birefringence and melting enthalpies. Crystallinity values determined from thermal analysis, density, unpolarized infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction are compared and discussed in terms of the inherent capabilities and limitations of each measurement technique. The birefringence and refractive index values obtained from optical microscopy are found to decrease with increasing wavelength of light used in the experiments. The wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the samples with relatively low orientation possess oriented non-crystalline array of chains whereas those with high molecular orientation possess well defined and oriented crystalline array of chains along the fiber axis direction. X-ray analysis showed increasing crystallite size trend with increasing molecular orientation. SEM images showed micro-cracks on low oriented fiber surfaces becoming smooth on highly oriented fiber surfaces. Excellent bending characteristics were observed with knotted fibers implying relatively easy fabric formation.
Bacterial diversity based on the denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) analysis of PCR-amplified 16S rRNA gene sequences was determined for soil samples from two abandoned mine sites and the corresponding enrichment cultures using soil sample as key inoculum. Sequencing analysis of DGGE bands obtained from both the soil samples matched mostly with sequences of uncultured and newly described organisms, or organisms recently associated with the acid mine drainage environment. However, the enrichment of soil samples in ferrous sulfate and elemental sulfur media yielded sequences that were consistent with well-known iron- and sulfur-oxidizing acidophilic bacteria. Analysis of enrichment cultures of soil samples from Dalsung mine revealed abundant ${\gamma}$-$Proteobacteria$, whereas that of Gubong mine sample displayed acidophilic groups of ${\gamma}$-$Proteobacteria$, ${\alpha}$-$Proteobacteria$, $Actinobacteria$ and $Firmicutes$. Chemical elemental analysis of the mine samples indicated that the Dalsung site contained more iron and sulfate along with other toxic components as compared with those of the Gubong site. Biogeochemistry was believed to be the primary control on the acidophilic bacterial group in the enrichment samples.

The human coagulation factor XI (FXI) is a serine protease that plays a significant role in blocking of the blood coagulation cascade as an attractive antithrombotic target. Selective inhibition of FXIa (an activated form of factor XI) disrupts the intrinsic coagulation pathway without affecting the extrinsic pathway or other coagulation factors such as FXa, FIIa, FVIIa. Furthermore, targeting the FXIa might significantly reduce the bleeding side effects and improve the safety index. This paper reports on a docking-based three dimensional quantitative structure activity relationship (3D-QSAR) study of the potent FXIa inhibitors, the chloro-phenyl tetrazole scaffold series, using comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative molecular similarity analysis (CoMSIA) methods. Due to the characterization of FXIa binding site, we classified the alignment of the known FXIa inhibitors into two groups according to the docked pose: S1-S2-S4 and S1-S1'-S2'. Consequently, highly predictive 3D-QSAR models of our result will provide insight for designing new potent FXIa inhibitors.
With the continual development of genetically modified (GM) crops, it has become necessary to develop detailed and effective molecular characterization methods to select candidate events from a large pool of transformation events. Relative to traditional molecular analysis methods such as the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Southern blot hybridization, next generation sequencing (NGS) technology for whole-genome sequencing of complex crop genomes had proven comparatively useful for in-depth molecular characterization. In this study, four transformation events, including one in Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt)-resistant rice, one in resveratrol-producing rice, and two in beta-carotene-enhanced soybeans, were selected for molecular characterization. To merge NGS analysis and Southern blot-hybridization results, we confirmed the transgene insertion sites, insertion construction, and insertion numbers of these four transformation events. In addition, the read-coverage depth assessed by NGS analysis for inserted genes might provide consistent results in terms of inserted T-DNA numbers in case of complex insertion structures and highly duplicated donor genomes; however, PCR-based methods can produce incorrect conclusions. Our combined method provides an effective and complete analytical approach for whole-genome visual inspection of transformation events that require biosafety assessment.
