  • Products are assumed to be spoiled and not recoverable when the raw material below the prescribed weight level is charged in the mold. The raw material is autoscaled and their weight is normally distributed with a given variance. This paper describes an appropriate stochastic model of determining the optimum weight allowance and the associated defective rate for auto scale system. The optimum weight allowance and the defective rate which minimizes the total loss of defective and the excess weight allowance is obtained. A numerical example for the existing rubber company is also presented and evaluated.

Free vibration and buckling analysis of the impacted hybrid composite beams

  • The aim of this experimental study is to investigate the free vibration and buckling behaviors of hybrid composite beams having different span lengths and orientation angles subjected to different impact energy levels. The impact energies are applied in range from 10 J to 30 J. Free vibration and buckling behaviors of intact and impacted hybrid composite beams are compared with each other for different span lengths, orientation angles and impact levels. In free vibration analysis, the first three modes of hybrid beams are considered and natural frequencies are normalized. It is seen that first and second modes are mostly affected with increasing impact energy level. Also, the fundamental natural frequency is mostly affected with the usage of mold that have 40 mm span length (SP40). Moreover, as the impact energy increases, the normalized critical buckling loads decrease gradually for $0^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$ oriented hybrid beams but they fluctuate for the other beams.

  • In this paper, development of TIM Module for constructing PDM will be introduced. Technical information relevant product data influences cost, quality, precision and productivity. One of the very important feature of product data is organizing not by oneself but very closed to many technical information such as document, file, image and analysis sheet. To manage various technical information, several kinds of management system are used in multi level of production system. PDM and TIM systems are being developed for suitable purpose and are in need of Network technology, Information Technology, Database, sharing and distributing information. Developed TIM system is based on Web environment. By using this system, we can manage systematic technical information and reduce cost for constructing PDM system. And also we will put to practical use another technical information management system for mold plant.

  • It is necessary to improve mechanical and optical properties in the optical disk substrates as the information storage devices with high storage density using short wavelength laser are being developed. Injection compression molding is regarded as the most suitable process to manufacture optical disk substrates with high is regarded as the most suitable process to manufacture optical disk substrates with high dimensional accuracy low residual stresses and superb optical properties In the present study polycarbonate optical disk substrates were fabricated by injection compression molding and the birefringence regarded as one of the most important optical properties for optical disk is measured. The effects of various processing conditions upon the development of birefringence distribution were examined experimentally. It was found that the value of the birefringence distribution were very sensitive to the mold wall temperature history and the variance of the birefringence distribution in the radial direction was affected by the level of the packing and the compression pressure.

  • Laser material processing technology is adopted in several industry as alternative process which could overcome weakness and problems of present adopted process, especially semiconductor and display industry. In semiconductor industry, laser photo lithography is doing at front-end level, and cutting, drilling, and marking technology for both wafer and EMC mold package is adopted. Laser cleaning and de-flashing are new rising technology. There are 3 kinds of main display industry which use laser technology - TFT LCD, AMOLED, Touch screen. Laser glass cutting, laser marking, laser direct patterning, laser annealing, laser repairing, laser frit sealing are major application in display industry.

  • The automation and Cell-Line of manufacturing process are going to be new trend in the industry spot. But workers bodily burden by manual labour is still doing repeatedly at many processes. It is appearing to workers bodily burden (Shoulder, waist, hand, wrist, leg) with repeating works at assembly line which is from the static working space. The analysis with 6 Sigma Tool at specific standard assembly line improve the point at issue for unsuitable items and analyzed objects. Physical pain of worker is solved by the improvement action for the factor of 7 items with the result of analysis. It was known to be improved by solving of workers burden related to the change of 6 Sigma level from 2.16 to 4.1 at assembly line.

Optimum micro dimple configuration on the elastomer seal surface (탄성중합체 시일 표면의 미세 딤플에 대한 최적설계)

  • The seal plays a role in preventing oil leakage when the lip and the rotating shaft come into contact with the fluid and air pressure. Recently, micro dimples or micro pockets are processed and used on the lubrication surfaces of thrust bearings, mechanical bearings, and piston rings. Compared to a smooth surface, micro dimples reduce friction and increase the life of parts. This paper analyzed various kinds of micro dimple shapes on the sealing surface, i.e. circle, rectangle, triangle, and trapezoid. For this purpose, Introduced the design of experiments to work out a micro dimple configuration, unlikely to be damaged from cracks and low in contact stress. As a result, the triangular dimple showed the best results. Optimal factors were dimple size 0.15 mm, dimple depth 0.0383 mm, dimple density 40%, and the maximum equivalent stress was 9.1455 MPa, and the maximum contact pressure was 9.6612 MPa. This paper analyzed the optimal shape of dimples by finite element analysis. As a research project, experiments and comparative analysis of micro dimple shapes are needed.

Analysis of RTM Process Using the Extended Finite Element Method (확장 유한 요소 법을 적용한 RTM 공정 해석)

  • Numerical simulation for Resin Transfer Molding manufacturing process is attempted by using the eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM) combined with the level set method. XFEM allows to obtaining a good numerical precision of the pressure near the resin flow front, where its gradient is discontinuous. The enriched shape functions of XFEM are derived by using the level set values so as to correctly describe the interpolation with the resin flow front. In addition, the level set method is used to transport the resin flow front at each time step during the mold filling. The level set values are calculated by an implicit characteristic Galerkin FEM. The multi-frontal solver of IPSAP is adopted to solve the system. This work is validated by comparing the obtained results with analytic solutions. Moreover, a localization method of XFEM and level set method is proposed to increase the computing efficiency. The computation domain is reduced to the small region near the resin flow front. Therefore, the total computing time is strongly reduced by it. The efficiency test is made with a simple channel flow model. Several application examples are analyzed to demonstrate ability of this method.

Changes in Enzyme Activity and Sensory Characteristics of Kochujang with Different Ratios of Added Deoduk (Codonopsis lanceolata) Root Powder (더덕 분말 첨가량을 달리한 고추장의 효소력 변화 및 관능적 특성)

  • Deoduk (Codonopsis lanceolata) root powder was added to traditional kochujang to improve the quality of traditional kochujang. The microbial characteristics, enzyme activities, and sensory characteristics were investigated during fermentation. The aerobic bacterial count in kochujang was not remarkabley different, and yeast and mold decreased during fermentation. Yeast and mold in the kochujang with 3 and 5% added deoduk root powder were 5 log scale at 8 weeks, whereas those in the control reached the same level at 6 weeks. ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$-Amylase activity was at its highest level at 4 weeks during fermentation, and glucose and fructose contents showed the same results. The major free sugars in kochujang were glucose and fructose, and their contents increased rapidly at 2 weeks. Free sugar contents of kochujang with added deoduk was higher than that in the control. The sensory evaluation results showed that 1 and 3% deoduk kochujang had higher scores for taste and overall acceptance than those in the control. In particular, 1% deoduk kochujang had the highest scores.

Effect of Acidulant Treatment on the Quality and Storage Period of Topokkidduck (산미료 단독 처리가 떡볶이 떡의 저장기간 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study evaluated the effects of acidulant treatment on the quality and storage period of Topokkidduck. Two samples of Topokkidduck were prepared, one soaked in 10% acidulant (10SAT) and the other without soaking in the acidulant (NSAT). During the storage period, the two samples were tested for presence of microorganisms (aerobic bacteria, E.coli, and mold) and physicochemical properties (color value, texture profile analysis (TPA)). The 10SAT could be stored for 49 days without detection of E.coli and a mold level of 1.0 log CFU/g. NSAT could be stored for only 21 days. NSAT had an aerobic count of 2.27 log CFU/g as early as 7 days, and E.coli was detected at 21 days at a level of 4.15 log CFU/g. The presence of E.coli is not permitted according to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). The hardness of the 10SAT increased during the storage period but to a much lesser extent compared to the NSAT. Thus the preparation of Topokkidduck by soaking in the acidulant controlled microbial growth for up to 49 days which is a much longer period compared to the control. Also, Topokkidduck soaked in the acidulant had a softer texture than the control during the storage period.
