  • PV module is manufactured by several steps such as cell sort, tabbing & string, lay-up, lamination processes. In oder to manufacture PV module, solar cell must be placed in high temperature. Soldering Process in high temperature is important because it directly influences electric output performance changes of solar cell in solar cell module. We consider applying momentary high temperature, while soldering solar cell, and expect change electric characteristics of PV module. In this paper, we measure electric output characteristics of solar cells after those are applied with high temperature changes for two seconds. From these results, we confirm with application of high temperature, $I_{sc}$ increase and $V_{oc}$ slightly decreases.

  • New RF matcher module has been proposed in this paper for improvement of RF matcher in plasma etcher system using in semiconductor and display panel manufacturing process. New designed warm gear was used instead of bevel gear in new driving module, and control system was re-arranged with one-chip micro-process technique. The matching performance of new match module was improved in various process condition with reduction of backlash and matching time, and flexible motion of motor compared commercial match module. However this new type RF match module will improve the productivity in etching process of the mass production line.

  • Recently, one of the most interesting issue in the intelligent robot and the industrial robot area is the design and an implementation of servo driver module based on motion network for hollow type joint module of all-in-one structure. In this paper, we designed and implemented for hollow type driver, and also verified the performance of the developed module through the experiment.

  • In the paralleled converter module with peak current mode control, current imbalance appears when the voltage controllers with integral control of converter module are not exactly identical. In this paper, the voltage controller is designed to equal the current command of each converter module using the current command bus. The current balance controller is also proposed to balance the average currents of converter modules with imbalaced inductance. It is designed to have good transient response. Proposed method is implemented with the paralleled 2-module and 4-module boost converters with imbalanced inductance. Experimental results verify the performance of current share during both steady and transient states of converter.

  • We report the performance of an open-frame type low-voltage high-current DC-DC converter module developed using an active clamp forward converter circuit and current doubler rectifier. The converter module is designed with the specifications of an 1.8V output voltage, 25A output current, and 36-75V input voltage. The synchronous rectifier is used to reduce the conduction fuss at high current level and current-mode control is adapted to enhance the flexibility in the system configuration. A prototype converter module is successfully implemented within 10mm height and half brick size (58${\times}$61mm), and recorded an 84% efficiency and 4% voltage regulation for the entire input voltage range, thereby demonstrating its application potentials to future telecommunication electronics.

  • This paper introduces the case study that has been performed at the block paint shop, Hyundai Heavy Industries. First of all, the overall production processes of shipbuilding and research activities conducted by Korean are reviewed with a view-point of production planning. Then HYPOS(Hyundai heavy industries Painting shop Operation System) project is briefly described, which has several modules such as planning module, scheduling module, work order module, and DB(database) management module. Although the HYPOS system has several modules, this paper mainly focuses on the planning module that utilizes the rough-cut simulation algorithm to make a decision about the policy for production schedule. The HYPOS has been operated since June, 2000 and the operation data has been collected for the purpose of future evaluation about the performance of HYPOS system. The evaluation of HYPOS will be shown in a public domain as soon as the enough operation data is available.

  • Modularized charge equalization converter for HEV lithium-ion battery cells is proposed in this paper, in which intra-module and inter-module charge equalization can be achieved at the same time. For intra-module charge equalization, the conventional flyback DC/DC converters of low power and small size are employed, in which all of the primary sides are coupled in parallel for selective charge of the specific under charged cell within the module. For inter-module charge equalization, the flyback DC/DC converters are also added, in which all the secondary windings are electrically linked in parallel for automatic charge balancing among the modules. An engineering sample of forty cells hiring the proposed cell balancing scheme is implemented and its experimental result shows that the proposed modularized charge equalization circuit has good cell balancing performance.

  • We describe the optimal design and the fabrication of a 2$\times$2 port optical device based on the thin film filter (TFF), and also propose a 4-channel OADM module using these devices. The optical performance of the proposed OADM module is evaluated theoretically and experimentally, and is compared to that of typical OADM modules using 1$\times$2 port optical devices for 4, 8, 16 and 32 drop channels in optical transmission systems. Since the 2$\times$2 port optical device accomplishes the function of wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing simultaneously in the proposed OADM module, the insertion loss of through channels can be improved by 1.2 dB compare to that of typical OADM modules using 1$\times$2 port optical devices. In addition, both the size and the price of the module can be reduced to 40~50%.

  • A general procedure for a motion capture and mimic system has been delineated. Utilizing sensors operated in the magnetic fields, complicated and optimized movements are easily digitized to analyze and repreduce. The system consists of a motion capture module, a motion visualization module, a motion plan module, a motion mimic module, and a GUI module. Design concepts of the system are modular, open, and user friendly to ensure the overall system performance. Custom-built and/or off-the-shelf modules are ease- ly integrated into the system. With modifications, this procedure can be applied for complicated motion controls. This procedure is implemented on tracking a head and balancing a pole. A neural controller based on this control scheme dtilizing human motions can easily evolve from a small amount of learning data.
