Analysis of Public System's Quality and User Behavior Using PLS-MGA Methodology : An Institutional Perspective (PLS-MGA 방법론을 활용한 제도론적 관점에서의 공공제도 품질과 사용자 행태의 분석)

  • In this study, we conducted a comparative study on user's perception and behavior on public system service (PSS) using institutionalism theory and MGA (multi-group analysis) methodology. In particular, this study focuses on how institutional isomorphism is applied to public system services and how MGA can be implemented correctly in a variance based SEM (structural equation model) such as PLS (partial least square). A data set of 496 effective responses was collected from pubic system users and an empirical research was conducted using three segmented models categorized by public proximity theory (public firms = 113, government contractors = 210, private contractors = 173). For rigorous group comparisons, each model was estimated by the same indicators and approaches. PLS-SEM was used in testing research hypotheses, followed by parametric and non-parametric PLS-MGA procedures in testing categorical moderation effects. This study applied novel procedures for testing composite measurement invariance prior to multi-group comparisons. The following main results and implications are drawn : 1) Partial measurement invariance was established. Multi-group analysis can be done by decomposed models although data can not be pooled for one integrated model. 2) Multi-group analysis using various approaches showed that proximity to public sphere moderated some hypothesized paths from quality dimensions to user satisfaction, which means that categorical moderating effects were partially supported. 3) Careful attention should be given to the selection of statistical test methods and the interpretation of the results of multi-group analysis, taking into account the different outcomes of the PLS-MGA test methods and the low statistical power of the moderating effect. It is necessary to use various methods such as comparing the difference in the path coefficient significance and the significance of the path coefficient difference between the groups. 4) Substantial differences in the perceptions and behaviors of PSS users existed according to proximity to public sphere, including the significance of path coefficients, mediation and categorical moderation effects. 5) The paper also provides detailed analysis and implication from a new institutional perspective. This study using a novel and appropriate methodology for performing group comparisons would be useful for researchers interested in comparative studies employing institutionalism theory and PLS-SEM multi-group analysis technique.

Moderated Moderating Effect of Gender and Resilience in the Relationship between Family-Friendly Climate and Innovative Behavior (가족친화적 조직분위기와 혁신행동의 관계에서 성별과 회복탄력성의 조절된 조절효과)

  • This research examines the effects of family-friendly organizational climate(FFOC) on innovative behavior. In addition, this study analyzed the moderated moderation effect of members' gender and resilience in the relationship between FFOC and innovative behavior. The results of this study, which empirically analyzed 1,026 employees of manufacturing companies in South Korea using SPSS regression analysis and PROCESS macro, are as follows. First, the FFOC showed a positive effect on innovative behavior. Second, gender had a moderating effect on the relationship between FFOC and innovative behavior. Specifically, men showed higher innovative behavior than women at the low FFOC level, but women showed higher innovative behavior than men at the high FFOC level. Finally, this research demonstrated the moderated moderation effect of gender and resilience in the relationship between FFOC and innovative behavior. ① When the FFOC was high, in the employee group with a low level of resilience, women's innovative behavior was higher than that of men. On the other hand, men's innovative behavior remained at a certain level regardless of FFOC. ② Also, in the employee group with a high level of resilience, the innovative behavior of men was higher than women regardless of FFOC. Based on the results of this study, theoretical and practical implications, research limitations, and future research directions were discussed.

The Moderating Effects of Band Circuit Training for the Mortality Improvement of Elderly Women (노인여성의 사망률 개선을 위한 밴드 서킷 트레이닝의 중재 효과)

  • This study aims to examine the moderating effects of band circuit training for the mortality improvement of elderly women to provide an effective exercise moderating program for the enhanced quality of life of the elderly. To achieve the purpose of this study, the moderating effects of 8 weeks of band circuit training in the Senior Fitness Tests (SFT) and Sitting Rising Tests (SRT) of elderly women ages 65 and older in Y city were examined and the following results were gained. The functional fitness of elderly women according to the moderating effects of band circuit training (sitting down in a chair and standing up, lifting 2 kg dumbbells, walking in place for 2 minutes, sitting in a chair and bending forward, hand holding behind one's back, walking back and forth for 2.44 m) and the Sitting Rising Test (SRT) displayed statistically significant interaction effects among measurement times and groups and positive improvements were shown in the test group after band circuit training moderation. These research results show that band circuit training moderation has a positive effect on functional fitness and SRT, which are associated with the mortality rate of the elderly, and thus it can be applied as an effective exercise moderation program for the improvement of quality of life through the mortality improvement of the elderly.

  • Ethernet is one of the most successful LAN technologies. Now gigabit ethernet is available in real network and some network interface cards(NIC) supports TCP segment offloading (TSO), IP checksum offloading(ICO), Jumbo frame and interrupt moderation. If we use this features appropriately, we obtain high throughput with low CPU utilization. This paper represents the network performance by varying above features.

Evaluation of Dietary Quality and Nutritional Status according to the Use of Nutrition Labeling and Nutrition Claims among University Students in Chungbuk Area - Based on Nutrition Quotient (충북 지역 일부 대학생에서 영양표시와 영양강조표시 이용에 따른 식사의 질과 영양상태 평가 연구- 영양지수를 이용하여)

  • Objectives: The study examined the status on the use of nutrition labeling and nutrition claims among university students as well as the diet quality and nutritional status using the nutrition quotient (NQ) according to the use of nutrition labeling and claims. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted on university students (86 males and 131 females) from March to April in 2019 in Chungbuk area. Results: The percentage of subjects who reported that they recognized nutrition labeling was 80.2% of the total, and 63.8% of them indicated that they used nutrition labeling for their food choices. In addition, 22.6% of the total subjects said that they used nutrition claims. The group of subjects using nutrition labeling showed significantly higher mean scores in balance (P < 0.01), diversity (P < 0.05), moderation (P < 0.01), and dietary behavior (P < 0.001) along with higher mean NQ score (P < 0.001) compared to the group not using nutrition labeling. The group using nutrition claims had significantly higher mean scores in balance (P < 0.001), diversity (P < 0.01), moderation (P < 0.001), and dietary behavior (P < 0.001) as well as total NQ scores (P < 0.001) compared to the group not using nutrition claims. The group of subjects using both nutrition labeling and nutrition claims showed significantly higher mean NQ scores than the group of subjects using either nutrition labeling or nutrition claims (P < 0.05). Conclusions: In this study, university students' use of nutrition labeling and nutrition claims appeared to be related to their diet quality and nutritional status.

The Study on the Effect of the of Consultant Capability on Consulting Performance : Focused on Mediating Effect of CEO Commitment and Moderating Effect of Firm Size (컨설턴트 역량이 컨설팅 성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 : CEO 몰입도의 매개효과와 기업 규모의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This paper investigated the impact of consultant capability, CEO commitment, and firm size on consulting performance. And we analyzed whether the CEO commitment factor showed mediated effect in the causal relationship between consultant capability and consulting performance, and analyzed that firm size showed the moderation effect on the relationship of Consultant capability, CEO commitment, and Consulting performance. The results of the analysis showed that the consultant knowledge had a significant effect on the CEO commitment and the CEO commitment had a significant effect on the consulting performance. CEO commitment showed that mediated the influence of consultant capability on the consulting performance. And as a result of the moderation effect test, there were significant differences in the size of firms depending on the path according to the group of large companies and SMEs.

The Relationship between Flight Crew's Individual Cultural Values and Crew Resource Management(CRM) Performance: Psychological Safety as a Moderator (민간항공조종사의 개인문화가치와 CRM수행의 관계 : 심리적 안전감의 조절효과)

  • Organizational culture among flight crews has a profound impact on the individual attitude and behavior of member flight crews, and active training is conducted focusing on improving flight crews' Crew Resource Management(CRM) performance. However, adequate research and training on the relationships between flight crew's individual culture and CRM performance have not been conducted. Hence, this study examined the effect of individual cultural values on CRM performance and the moderation effect of psychological safety, with captains and first officers working for commercial airlines as participants. For the factors related to individual cultural value scale, power distance had no significant effect on CRM performance, uncertainty avoidance had a significant negative effect, and individualism had a significant positive effect. With regard to the moderation effect of psychological safety on the relationships between individual cultural values and CRM performance, a significant interaction was found between power distance and CRM performance, but not between uncertainty avoidance and CRM performance, or between individualism and CRM performance. Power distance and CRM performance exhibited a strong negative correlation in case of low psychological safety. Compared to existing research measuring the cultural characteristics of pilot groups on a national or organizational culture level, this study is uniquely valuable in that it also covers the relationship between individual cultural values of commercial airline flight crews and CRM performance.

A Study on the Influential Factors to Power Plant Construction Project Quality Control : Focused on Collective Civil Complaints of Nuclear Power Plant Construction (발전소 건설프로젝트 품질관리에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 원전 건설 집단민원 사례를 중심으로)

  • Purpose: The collective civil complaint problem is considered as important obstructive factor of the nuclear power plant construction project's success and quality. Therefore, this study demonstrate the factors which can affect the settling collective civil complaints, and also suggest the improvement of the resolution. Methods: This study collected the data of Kori Nuclear Power Division staff, local residents and Hanul Nuclear Power Division staff, local residents, and use them for analysis. Results: The results are twofold in the study: First, the 'Situation Recognition' and 'Mutual Cooperation' which are independent variables for solving collective civil complaints have proved to give positive influence on both the nuclear staff and the local residents about the complaint resolution outcome of the dependent variable. Second, the moderation variable 'Expected Benefit' on the influential relationship between the collective civil complaint resolution factor and the civil complaints resolution outcome proved to have a moderating effect only on the nuclear staff. On the other hand, moderation variables 'Time of SOC Business Implementation' and 'Time of Compensation' proved to have a moderating effect only for the local residents. Conclusion: According to the results, the staff have a positive opinion on the benefits of the nuclear power plant construction, while residents feel strongly that they do not get any benefit from the construction despite of tremendous investment and expected benefit in local area. As this results, policy implementation which is superable different understanding is required.

Control and Moderation of Natural Human Emotions through Sasang Constitutional Medicine and Psychotherapy (사상의학(四象醫學)에서 성정(性情)의 중절(中節)과 심리치료(心理治療))

  • Objectives: Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM) is a Traditional Korean Medicine based on the natural human emotions of joy(喜), anger(怒), sorrow(哀), and pleasure(樂). Therefore, in this paper I would like to construct SCM as a Mind-Body Medicine by studying the relation between SCM and psychotherapy focusing on control of emotions. Methods : I have researched the psychological characteristics of the four human physical constitutions, as described by SCM, and psychotherapy with an emphasis on the natural human emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure as discussed in the works of Lee Je-ma(李濟馬, 1837-1900). Results and Conclusions : The joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure in SCM do not simply refer to human emotions. They have an inherent nature(性), emotion(情) and Qi(氣). They are tied to the psychological characteristics of the four human physical constitutions and the relationship between body and mind. The turning point in the transformation from Sasang philosophy to Sasang therapy lies in these emotions. Sasang Constitutional Medicine, which focuses on 'mind matter' and diagnosing illness, emphasizes medicine and food(藥餌), along with health maintenance(調養). In particular, health maintenance requires the following mental practices. First of all, through countinuous awarness(恒戒) and self-reflection(自反), one needs to practice moderation(中) and restraint(節) of the emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure. Therefore, 'inward reflection while sitting(坐思)' is necessary. In SCM, this is very similar to meditation in that it enhances psychological self-control through mental training or practice.
