드릴링 센타용 에폭시-그래나이트재 컬럼의 구조물 특성 연구 (Stuctural Characteristics on Drilling Center Column made of Epoxy-granite Material)

  • A new fungible materal named Epoxy-Granite composite is applied to the column structure of drilling center in order to investigate the advanced dynamic chatateristics comparing with a conventional cast iron material. The dimensions of new colum structure are adjusted to keep the same stiffness (El value) and the manufacturing conditions are formulated based on the preceeding research experience about the development of Epoxy-Granite structural material. The two kinds of experiments are set up. one of which is for the measurement of natural mode and frequency using experimental modal analysis and the other one is for the measurement of vibration amplitude during idling operation of a machine fool. The comparison of maximum, accelerance values at each natural frequency of bending mode shows a Epoxy-Granite column have larger modal damping ratios(over 2times) than a cast iron column. The vibration amplitude of Epoxy-Granite column measued on the bed motor base and top of column are also much smaller (up to 12%) than the case of cast iron column. It is therefore confirmed that a Epoxy-Granite materal exhibits a good anti-vibrational property even if it is used under the actual operational environments of machine eool as a practical structural element.

  • 협대역 천이영역을 갖는 원통형 격자전송구조 (Circular Bragg Grating: CBG) 가 최근 DWDM을 위한 광통신용 대역통과 필터로 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 원통형 Bragg 격자 구조들의 광 필터특성을 분석하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 Floquet-Babinet의 원리에 의존하는 새로운 해석적인 모드 전송선로 이른 (Modal Transmission-Line Theory: MTLT)을 제시하였다. 수치해석 결과, 제안한 해석법은 CBG의 필터특성을 분석하기 위한 유용한 프로그래밍 알고리즘을 제공하고, 다층 원통형 주기 구조들의 그 전송특성을 분석하기 위하여 쉽게 발전시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

Modified seismic analysis of multistory asymmetric elastic buildings and suggestions for minimizing the rotational response

  • A modified procedure is presented for assessing the seismic response of elastic non-proportionate multistory buildings. This procedure retains the simplicity of the methodology presented by the author in earlier papers, but it presents higher accuracy in buildings composed by very dissimilar types of bents. As a result, not only frequencies and peak values of base resultant forces are determined with higher accuracy, but also the location of the first mode center of rigidity (m1-CR). The closeness of m1-CR with the axis passing through the centers of floor masses (mass axis) implies a reduced rotational response and it is demonstrated that in elastic systemsa practically translational response is obtained when this point lies on the mass axis.Besides, when common types of buildings are detailed as planar structures under a code load, this response is maintained in the inelastic phase of their response as a result of the almost concurrent yielding of all the resisting bents. This property of m1-CR can be used by the practicing engineer as a guideline to form a structural configuration which will sustain minimum rotational response, simply by allocating the resisting elements in such a way that this point lies close to the mass axis. Inelastic multistory building structures, detailed as above, may be regarded as torsionally balanced multistory systems and this is demonstrated in eight story buildings, composed by dissimilar bents, under the ground motions of Kobe 1995 (component KJM000) and Friuli 1976 (component Tolmezzo E-W).

A study on the mechanically equivalent surrogate plate of U-Mo dispersion fuel using tungsten

  • When a new fuel is developed, various mechanical properties are absolutely necessary for a safety analysis of the fuel for the licensing and prediction of its mechanical behavior during operation and accident conditions. In this paper, a mechanically equivalent surrogate plate of U-Mo dispersion fuel is presented using tungsten, substitute material of U-Mo particle. A surrogate plate, composed of tungsten/aluminum dispersion meat and aluminum alloy cladding, is manufactured with the same fabrication process with that of fuel plate except that a tungsten powder is used instead of U-Mo powder. A modal test showed that the surrogate plate and fuel plate have similar dynamic characteristics, and a tensile test demonstrated the similarity of the material property up to the yield strength range. The conducted tests proved that the surrogate tungsten plate has equivalent mechanical behaviors with that of a fuel plate, which leads to the acceptable use of a surrogate fuel assembly using tungsten/aluminum dispersion meat in various mechanical tests. The surrogate fuel assembly can be utilized for various out-of-pile characteristic tests, which are necessary for the licensing achievement of a research reactor that uses U-Mo dispersion fuel as a driver.

진동시험에 의한 154kV 변압기 부싱의 동특성 분석 및 내진성능 평가 (Modal Identification and Seismic Performance Evaluation of 154kV Transformer Porcelain Bushing by Vibration Test)

  • 지진과 같은 재난이 발생하였을 때에도 전력설비는 그 본래의 기능을 상실하지 않고 구조적인 안정성을 유지해야 하는 핵심 산업시설물이다. 이 연구는 가장 대표적인 전력설비인 154kV 변압기에 부착된 애자형 부싱의 진동특성과 내진성능을 분석하였다. 연구의 목적에 따라 국내에서 운용하던 실제 154kV 변압기 부싱을 대상으로 30tonf 용량의 진동대를 이용하여 진동시험이 실시되었다. 진동시험은 동특성분석시험과 내진성능시험 그리고 파괴한도시험으로 구분하고, 각각의 시험에는 정현소인파, 인공지진파 그리고 연속공진정현파를 진동대운동으로 입력하였다. 이 논문에는 시험에 사용된 시편과 진동설비의 특성 그리고, 시험 방법 및 종류를 설명하고, 시험 결과 얻어진 계측자료의 특성에 대하여 논의한다. 이 연구를 통하여 국내에서 운용중인 154kV 변압기 부싱은 그 고유진동수가 20Hz 이상인 고진동수 설비이며, 감쇠비는 4%미만인 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 특별한 경우를 제외하고, 변압기 부싱은 국내의 설계기준지진에 대하여 충분한 내진안전성을 보유하고 있으며, 강한 공진운동에 의해 예상되는 부싱의 최초 파괴모드는 하단 개스킷의 파손인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

Application of model reduction technique and structural subsection technique on optimal sensor placement of truss structures

  • An optimal sensor placement (OSP) method based on structural subsection technique (SST) and model reduction technique was proposed for modal identification of truss structures, which was conducted using genetic algorithm (GA). The constraints of GA variables were determined by SST in advance. Subsequently, according to model reduction technique, the optimal group of master degrees of freedom and the optimal objective function value were obtained using GA in a case of the given number of sensors. Correspondingly, the optimal number of sensors was determined according to optimal objective function values in cases of the different number of sensors. The proposed method was applied on a scaled jacket offshore platform to get its optimal number of sensors and the corresponding optimal sensor layout. Then modal kinetic energy and modal assurance criterion were adopted to evaluate vibration energy and mode independence property. The experiment was also conducted to verify the effectiveness of the selected optimal sensor layout. The results showed that experimental modes agreed reasonably well with numerical results. Moreover the influence of the proposed method using different optimal algorithms and model reduction technique on optimal results was also compared. The results showed that the influence was very little.

개인여객 효용의 극대화 및 운송특성공간상의 무차별곡선의 형태와 그 추정 (Utility Maximization, The Shapes of the Indifference Curve on the Characteristic Space and its Estimation: A Theoretical Approach)

  • 개인여객이 운송수단을 선택하여 얻는 효용은 시간, 비용 등의 운송특성과 소득 등 개인특성의 함수이다. 기존 연구에서는 일반적으로 운송특성이 여객효용에 미치는 효과를 추정하기 위한 방법으로 운송특성변수에 대해 선형인 효용함수를 전제로 한 무작위 효용모형을 이용하여 왔다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 개인여객의 효용극대화를 분석하는 방법으로서 운송수단선택행위가 소비, 여가, 소득창출 등 보다 본원적인 활동으로부터 파생된다는 점에 주목하여, 다시 말해, 개인의 본원적 활동에 따른 효용극대화 관점에서 운송수단선택에 따른 효용이 진정으로 선형의 형태를 지니고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 이론적 결론은 첫째, 본원적 활동에 따른 효용이 소비와 여가만의 함수일 때 선형가정은 운송시간의 일부구간에서 진실이다. 둘째, 만일 효용이 노동활동이나 운송시간에 의해 직접 영향을 받을 경우 운송특성에 따른 효용의 선형성은 극단적인 상황이 아니면 성립하지 않는다. 따라서 운송특성에 따른 효용의 크기를 추정하기 위해선 선형이 아닌 보다 일반화된 함수에서의 근사가 요구된다.

인공위성발사체 상단부 진동환경시험을 위한 치구설계 (Vibration Fixture design for small satellite launch vehicle environment test)

  • Satellite launch vehicle is exposed to some dynamic environment during its flight. Particularly, the safety of launch vehicle structure is surely verified under vibration environment in low frequency range. Sine sweep test is generally performed to describe this low frequency vibration environment. Dynamic property of vibration fixture is considered to get the correct property of target object. This vibration fixture should really be an extension of the armature in the form of a very rigid structure that can transfer the required force at the required frequency. An optimum fixture would have its lower natural frequency about 50% higher than the highest required forcing frequency in order to avoid fixture resonances during the test. In this study, the vibration mode analysis considering the mass of target object to design the vibration fixture. And the modal test of vibration fixture is performed to conform the design.

남원지역 화강암 석재의 품질, 암석조직과 구성광물의 비교연구 (Correlation of mineralogical and textural properties with mechanical qualities of granite dimension stone from the Namwon area, Korea)

  • 화강암은 국내에서 건축재, 공예 재료로서 사용되는 석재들 중 가장 큰 비중을 차지한다. 화강암은 구성광물, 광물의 함량 변화가 크기 때문에 이에 따라 물리적, 공학적 특성변화가 다양하다. 이 연구의 목적은 국내에서 화강암 석재가 가장 많이 생산되는 지역 중 하나인 남원지역의 화강암을 대상으로 암석기재학적 인 특성과 공학적인 특성사이의 상호 관련성을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 화강암의 구성광물의 함량비와 구성광물 각각의 입도를 측정하였으며 동일 시료에 대해 밀도, 흡수율, 공극율, 일축압축강도, 인장강도, 마모경도, P파 속도, 탄성계수, 포아송비 등의 물성 측정이 실시되었다. 화강암의 공학적 특성은 광물의 함량비 보다는 광물의 입도에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 석영의 함량비도 화강암의 공학적 성질에 역시 영향을 주는 것으로 판단된다.

  • Theoretical analysis Is carried out to identify the modal coupling effect between some particular acoustic modes of a vehicle compartment cavity and vibration modes of body panels like side doors, roof or floor. A simplified panel-cavity coupled model is investigated on the coupled resonance frequencies, modes and frequency response characteristics. Through parametric study, It Is possible to explain how the acoustic response of a coupled system will be determined by the vibration and acoustic property of the individual panel and cavity system. Full coupled system shows some interesting features different from those of the semi-coupled system In frequency, mode and acoustic response.
